@@Mekboy_ComputerMonster NRS needs to figure out how to animate characters in gameplay well before that happens. It's something you don't notice until you play other fighting games, but it's kinda embarrassing once noticed since they get the biggest budget out of any fighters.

As I get older I have been working to avoid parasocial relationships whether that’s with people I know or people I simply admire with that being said, I discovered your channel when I was 6 years old just browsing RUclips and I was drawn in by the cool Johnny vs Mario thumbnails. I was hoping to see a fun animation of someone beating the shit out of Mario at the height of my anti-Mario eras I was met with some guy just talking and I immediately turned it off.
2 years later, you popped back up in my feed and I recognized the style of thumbnail and decided to give you another shot. You became someone I could always rely on if I needed something to watch, I was only 8 years old but whenever a new Johnny vs video dropped, I would make time in my day to watch it. Since then it’s always been that way, I’m 19 now and while I find myself drifting away from being as invested in RUclips videos and such, I still make sure I keep up with SomecallmeJohnny.
With all that being said, I just wanna say thank you for all that you’ve done. Your output has never been a issue to me personally regardless of any gaps, so definitely focus first on what YOU want and your own well-being as I’m sure the majority of us will still be here no matter what.
No joke, I was just rewatching the Klassic MK Games video and was thinking "I wonder when Johnny's gonna be talking about MK again." And then like, half an hour after, this gets uploaded XD

I'm figuring with his reviews a good chunk of us are Kingdom Hearts fans too. a couple months, a year, whatever is basically nothing to us at this point.
The person who played as Sub-Zero in this is John Turk. He previously played as both Shang Tsung and Kuai Liang in MK3 and would portray the masked ninjas in UMK3. I honestly think the Mythologies outfit is somehow a bit too big for him because Turk is a massive guy, on par with John Parrish, who was Jax.
Also being a nerd here, but the Lin Kuei aren't cryomancers. Only Bi-Han and Kuai Liang are

She's also forgettable, betraying Kuai-Liang, during one of the MK games, trying to steal his amulet, and in her ending, in Deadly Alliance steals it, and the bitch literally FROZE herself to death like a damn fool. She's even somehow less likeable in the reboot series. Why, is she always so annoying? Is there a way to make her less annoying? No, no there is not.

Defeating Monster Shinnok is how you unlock the outtakes reel, and it essentially requires you to be full of full restores to kill him. Which considering how difficult this game can be… yeah, just watch the outtakes on RUclips, as you said.
"Vulnerable to death", sub zero immediately getting shot with a cannon after opening a door, subzero getting flushed, shinnok's face...the sgb playthrough brought so much joy.
I think doing smaller videos like this are the smart and healthy thing to do! Just keep doing what makes you happy Johnny, you have our support! And don't forget to take breaks when needed!

Fun fact: Quan Chi’s first ever appearance was actually from the Mortal Kombat cartoon. It’s interesting how they got Ron Perlman and the late Luke Perry in the cartoon as Stryker and Sub-Zero.

Also the fact that they have dinosaurs in the Netherrealm implies one of three things:
1) The world works on Greek rules and that the Netherrealm is the only afterlife
2) That there were dinosaurs that were consciously evil enough to get sent to Hell.
3) Dinosaurs were an invasive species to Earthrealm

What I love about your videos is that you have a nice balance. You are very professional while still giving us some jokes here and there.

To Be Fair John It's a MK Tradition for most bosses to Blow Up.
God the SGB playthrough of this game still has me in stitches.
We all get wiped out and need time to recharge. Especially when recovering from an illness. Never feel bad for being human. The fans that truly love and respect the work you put in will always be here.
The SGB run of this game is still one of my absolute favorites!
Exactly, dude. Well said. And while SGB's playthrough of the game IS hilarious, there is another hilarious LP of the game, courtesy of Maximilian Dood, and his 6 hour Kampaign. He also used the Infinite Lives and mana meter Kombat Kodes. It was hilarious to watch the entire thing. But watching SGB also go through this catastrophic disaster was also hilarious. Because of all the trauma the N64 version of this game caused me as a kid. Seriously. I never beat the game because of the finite amount of lives, but I did use the Infinite Lives code though. I just never beat the game, and I hated it. But I did love the live action FMV's though. Those almost were enough to motivate me to warrant going through the game entirely. Because cheat codes help make it fun. Still a bad game though. But so bad, it's good...to watch other people play and not actually play for yourself. Glad I missed out on Special Forces though, because I've seen how horrendous that game looks. It's also laughably bad though, but no cheats to help. But that game stars Jackson "Jax" Briggs, Sonya Blade, Jarek, (sporting his MK4 design), and Kano. I think it's the absolute worst MK side scrolling game. Glad they finally nailed it with Shaolin Monks, but there was never any sequel to it, and has been forgotten about, which is a shame. It was a REALLY good game. You could also play as Scorpion and Sub-Zero, and Johnny Cage, and there was even a vs. mode too. It's amazing how much Shaolin Monks gets right. But they just never returned to it...which sucks.

This game could have been great even with all it's limitations. However the thing that kills it is the level design. It's literally one cheap death trap after another
To be honest I’ve been subbed to you since 2013 and never saw a reason to leave. Your videos have always been organic and not too try-hard. And while I do find myself going back to your older videos. There isn’t a newer one that I fail to still watch because you’re still the same John we know and love. Keep up the great work man, go at your own pace, and you’ve got my support 👍🏾

Mythologies was a really cool idea but GOD was the execution really rough. It plays exactly like a fighting game, which makes the platforming feel really off. I wish it was good because it was an interesting experiment and we might’ve gotten more
There was a Guilty Gear game on the PSP that used the fighting game template but just made a beat-em up out of it, kinda like Tekken Force Mode but in 2D.
Before that, they tried making a 1V2 fighter, GG Isuka. You might have guessed it but the fighting game controls didn't work well with something like that when you needed to switch targets left or right. TLDR, 2D platformers or other 2D genres don't translate perfectly from controls of a different genre.
So the water temple's boss is basically Glacius and the fire temple's boss is pretty much Cinder, those Killer Instinct references make me happy

The events of this game are referenced multiple times in other titles that came after. First example is in the crossover game "Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe" when Kuai Liang mentions to Raiden that the Thunder God helped Bi-Han. Another is during one of Fujin's intro banters in MK11 where the Wind God mentions that Bi-Han was more skilled than he thought.

I've been rewatching almost all Johnny vs. videos the past month or so and man, I just jell with your laid-back approach so much. I've had a depressive episode recently and I know the type of feeling you described in the Sonic Dream Team video. Even if one would have the best job in the world, you need to step back at times.
