Those Detuned V8's run forever in the panther cars. I highly doubt there is a single 3.5 liter V6 that even made it close to 500,000 miles, let alone 1,000,000+ like a lot of 4.6 Modular engines did.
@@peachyclean93 Acceleration was never the Panther Platforms strong suit. It excelled in other areas like reliability, durability and ruggedness. Thats why they were loved so much for Police and Taxi use. Chevy and Dodge always made the faster V8 police/fleet car, but the Crown Vic handled well for its size and needed little downtime for repairs compared to others. If I wanted a fast car, I'd get an entirely different vehicle altogether. My Crown Vic is big and cozy. As for the 3.5 liter V6, its good to hear they can hold up. I admittedly don't know too much about them so I was going out on a limb there.
Considering how poorly these vehicles were built, it's no surprise they've not aged well. It's been many years since I've seen most of any of the models on the road.
The Taurus's with the Vulcan V6's are pretty reliable, and so were all of the Panther cars (Town Car, Grand Marquis and Crown Vic) My old man has a '98 Taurus and I own a '99 Crown Vic with the police package. Both cars run fine, though my dads Taurus has given him some electrical issues off and on over the years (Interior dome light etc) But the powertrain has been fine. Zero issues with the Crown Vic. The Taurus has about 60,000 miles on it and my Crown Vic has 153,000 miles and it was a city patrol car for nearly 10 years before being privately owned.
The rangers were sweet
It's crazy Chrysler came out with the LH cars in 1992 optional 3.5 l V6 came with 214 horsepower that's a V6😂 200 horsepower for a V8 🤔
Yeah but that V8 has a lot more torque

@@Kuson2 I had two of them that made 250 so I'm sure there is! Those v8s were dogs so slow

Lift
Most of these cars have aged so poorly it's hilarious

Except the panther cars
The Eddie Baur editions of the Expedition and Explorer were decent rigs to get on the used market.

As long as young kids didn't get to hot dog around, most are still pretty decent
Up north here anyway
Just terrible across the board.
