I love this woman. She was a parent that saw something that needed to be done. And instead of waiting on someone else to do something, she did it. She is a hero of mine. I peg my figures and Sun Man is getting the front of the peg. It will be a reminder to me of how much a parent could go to help their child. Thank you!
A nice detail I think most people doesn't notice: Sun-Man's weapon is an iklwa, the signature weapon of the zulu warriors, that was forged during the reign of King Shaka. The iklwa is a mix between a sword and a spear.
Growing up as a kid in the 80s in Iceland, we did get quite a few of the He-Man like figure lines, like the Galaxy Warriors and Galaxy Fighters, but we did not get Sun Man or Warlord, since I´m not sure they were sold in Europe at all. I didn´t learn about Sun Man until a year ago or so. It´s great the line could be brought back to live through MOTU.
Great and inspiring video! So happy Mattel is incorporating this line into the Origins line. Can’t wait to get Sun Man and the other figures in the line
Great video! It was nice to see Ms. Eason and her son talking about the character. We never got Sun-Man in my area as a kid but a friend recently sent me one and he's fantastic and I've enjoyed learning about his history. God bless Ms. Eason.
I love your comment on race swapping. This character is such a perfect example of why characters of color, originally designed that way, are so much more important and more gratifying than taking a B-list white character and lazily changing their race to check a box. This Sun Man story was previously unknown to so many of us, and reviving him and his line and adding it to the story, well it's been a real joy to learn about this last year. What a woman! I admire her so much.
Absolutely, thanks so much for sharing, yeah, I'm not a fan of race swapping characters, I feel each universe has a number of characters of color just waiting to be utilized, with great stories and development. Happy to see the Sun Man line back better than ever.
👏 absolutely! I feel like it is so disrespectful and lazy to recycle characters and change their race, especially since there are ethnic heros already they fail to introduce in media. I think comic companies and people who remake movies lack imagination and barely ever come up with new characters, im so tired of the marvel universe because of this exact thing. Its not representation to recycle shit, that's just lazy.
I think this is awesome and I definitely got sunman and pig head and have hypno on the way. Its a cool thing, its literally the product of a mothers love and sunman cool and interesting and I think he is a perfect addition. It is really cool to have some "new" characters to! I love all the old ones of course, but having these new additions just adds to the experience for me.
Masters of the Universe human characters lacked diversity, but all others were the most diverse in toy history: robots, demons, aliens, extra dimensional beings, humanoid reptiles, talking animals and the blue skinned Gar race that suffered racism on Eternia. Sun Man characters are very cool, but their very human centric.
You make it seem like every single race in the world was included in the "Masteres of the Universe" except the Black Negro, they have blue people and one Japanese guy named jitsu, so why did this little black kid and his mom Whyla feel like victims? The cartoon had black people in its episodes that weren't even toys, they were the only other race besides one Japanese guy named Jitsu, Stop this woke victim hood crap
Thanks for sharing, and I respect your opinion, but I would have to respectfully disagree, although He-Man was and still is my all-time favorite along with Batman, that cartoon did lack(consistent) diversity, its still one of my favorite cartoons to this day still, but you had Jitsu in one episode, no it Clamp or Ninjor. You and I have named a total of 3 individuals of another race within a whole world of MOTU, many of which never received any screen time. You might see a person of color maybe every once in a blue moon, but no recurring characters. Adding a hero like Sunman is cool for the line for a variety of reasons.
@@tsmultiverse8956 well He Man doesnt owe you anything, it doesn't have to be racially diverse, it was created by white people, dont try and force white people to create things for your race, what super hero's are black people creating for white people? None. Stop with your pathetic victim woke garbage, I hate to say it but, Sun Man was created because black people never created super hero's and expected white people to do it for them, till one day a wo.an made black knock off He men instead of just creating something original
First thing they do is put him in a dress to demasculate him. They emasculated He-Man to prop Teela up, and they'll put Sun Man into some gay scenarios to make him soft, too.
@@RockandrollNegro Its sad how in today's world how Hollywood seems to go out there way to destroy the characters we love. I explained this on my Review of MOTU Revelation Series

Thank you. I always wondered why he had such a unique shaped sword. At first I thought it was meant to be a magic wand
Yes and they were made of iron and cool then forged in win

Epic! I had Sunman 🌞 as a Kid
Where does Sun-Man come from ? I mean the character, where did he live in the 80’s? And now does he live in Eternia now that he joined MOTU ?
When does the cartoon come out?!
A cartoon series has yet to receive an official announcement, hopefully well get one this year👍👍
