Just saw Louis Hayes and the Cannonball Adderley Legacy Band a couple hours ago, it was an incredible concert. Louis was amazing back then and is just as amazing today. The rest of the band blew my mind, make sure you go see them if they come anywhere near you!
Funnily enough, at first sight, I also thought the piano player bore a strong resemblance to Victor Feldman, but all the usual sources including CannonballJazz and the Library of Congress are definite about Joe Zawinul, so Zawinul it is. With Nat Adderley on cornet, Sam Jones on bass and Louis Hayes on drums. Nice hearing Steve Race's voice again.
@dixjazz Louis Hayes is still playing, that's the funny part. I saw him in October and he's still just as talented and, strangely, doesn't look too much older.
Video is great! But the title is incorrect. It's Louis Hayes in the UK with Cannonball Adderly, Nat Adderly, Vic Feldman (great Brit piano player), and Sam Jones. Cannonball & Nat 'discovered' Wes Montgomery & brought him to the attention of Riverside Records - & maybe they also discovered Vic Feldman in England & brought him to the U.S. where he played with Louis Hayes on Wes Montgomery's great album 'Movin' Along' .

Simply awesome music people.
Had the honor of meeting Mr. Hayes at Cafe Amrita in NYC last year. Brilliant drummer a very down-to-earth, funny guy.
I spent a lot of time with him. He is a very funny and engaging man.
