Yeah, before AND after Cream, he seemed more interested in imitating his Blues heroes than creating something new, but his best work in Cream was just incredibly original.

Nicole Holford Lockney You know what got me thinking about them? A lady on the live feed said ‘Vegemite tastes like dirt in cream form’ 😂😂😂 Not only is that the funniest description I ever heard, but ever since then I’ve been thinking about Cream the band! 😂😂😂💖
Quite a big sound for a trio huh. Eric Clapton, guitar and vocals, Jack Bruce played bass and sang lead, and of course it was the one and only Ginger Baker on drums.
Eric and Jack Bruce shared lead vocal duties on this song. Eric would sing a verse then Jack would do the next. You can tell Jacks verses as his voice was the more powerful of the two.
Ginger Baker was also in Blind Faith with Clapton plus Steve Winwood and Rick Grech. They were going to be the next superduper group but fell apart before they'd finished their first album. It has some great tracks on it, not just "Can't Find My Way Home" but "Presence of the Lord," which has a guitar solo that I'm sure you'll love. It still gives me goose bumps fifty years later.
Bassist/vocalist Jack Bruce wrote this song after going to see Jimi Hendrix for the first time. Right after Cream broke up, Hendrix appeared on The Lulu Show (a British variety show hosted by pop singer Lulu, who at the time was married to Maurice Gibb of The Bee Gees) and played Sunshine Of Your Love as a tribute to Cream.

@David S. Ginger is THE BEST , not one of, but THE BEST drummer of all time.
And the solo starts with an in-joke - it's the melody to Blue Moon!

We are the same age John. We had the best music ever.
the lead singer, composer of the riff, and bass player was Jack Bruce. You should listen to his solo work. Ginger Baker on drums.
You are killing it tonight, man! You’re playing the “cream of the crop.” And I see you bouncing in time to Ginger Baker’s drumming.
Richard Gerson Are you a drummer, Jay?!
Ginger Baker the Man
Jack Bruce laid some great bass as well. One killer trio!
I remember that Ginger Baker died some months ago - maybe a year or so now. RIP Ginger Baker
Eric Clapton played with Derick and the Domino’s. Check out “ Layla.”
Yes! And do the studio version first, and then the unplugged once you love it!

Those first 10 notes are as iconic as any song ever, perhaps only eclipsed by the 12 note Layla sequence. Wait? Clapton on both! He was God!
“Cocaine” is pretty iconic too!
I LOVE me some Eric, but the most iconic opening line for any song is smoke on the water by Deep PurpleIMHO
@@kennethhamilton7440 Good one! I can't disagree with that. : )
Kenneth Hamilton That’s the only thing I was ever able to play on guitar. 😂😂😂
That "10 note" riff is bass guitar, played by Jack Bruce, also lead singer.

Yes. Badge!!

Badge is epic. The studio version is just way too short.
Goodfellas DeNiro at the bar smoking a cigarette...Eric Clapton Legend.
