Of all the people’s cars or Volkswagen you been working on the one I’m most excited about you finishing is the karmann ghia it’s always been my favorite type of car
Awesome..👏👏 i was hoping u get to it . Kept checking for this.Hopefully we ll see it finished. Hate half way projects.i got my cellar conversion, tanking etc. I can’t get to it over a year.Everyday going down to look at it,im making myself sick so i finally make the for a start.! U finishing this project maybe the spark that i ve been waiting for.😂
Dude you do an excellant job and great videoing. Only critic I have is that when you do talk, you repeat yourself 3 and 4 times saying exact same thing. We understood the first time. Loving the build and man the motor is awesome! Going to be a beautiful ride
Oh my God, tons of rust! Easy to understand why the introduction of zinc - plated and aluminium bodies was a milestone in the history of the automobile!
How would we say CT... crusty rusty xD It's been a long time since i commented but always a pleasure seing you to bring some love to old rusty cars. Keep going!:3
trick with seam sealer, keep the finger wet and the sealer doesn't stick to the finger & you get a nicer seam. learned that when I was sealing the bottom of doors in our bodyshop where I worked. Did the first one and one of the bodymen told me that & the other 3 went much better.
I personally don't like VW Beetles that much, but since you're doing a great job on that one, I'd get rid of all that surface rust and would give it a decent paint job!
You are doing a great job. Especially considering how bad this one is. Well done. I would however brace it up better with cross bracing etc. Yes it gets in the way but hold thing in place.
Boom >1:15, CT hits the gas !! .... hey what's the deal with Sandusky OH ? Bring your bus there Columbus Day Weekend and take the Ferry to Kombi's on Kelley's Island.
When you were extracting the rusted door hinge screws you should have used an open-end wrench on your square shafted screwdriver to turn the screw while you pushed in on it with your other hand on the screwdriver's handle. That's why they make square shafted screw drivers.
I guess what we will see once the bodywork is finished is a "Franken - Beetle", consisting of an estimated 60% original body material and 30% stitched together. But it works!
Everyone always misses or discounts one thing in an engine rebuild. There are rwo little diverters near the block between the two cylinders which divert air near the block and prevent piston melt.
Ça fait des mois que je vous vois restaurer des Beetles mais vous ne faites jamais une peinture et une finition complète… Vous les abandonnez ensuite ? 🤔 Sinon c’est chouette , bravo 👌
I know this is a labour of love project, but I am questioning the integrity of that body, absoluutely everything is rusted through. The rust you can see if fine, its the rust you cant see.....
I don't know dude, was anything good out of this chassis other than the VIN number sticker? Why don't you sand/media blast it? Its easier than sitting there and go crazy with the wire wheel!🤣
Repairing such a cheap and rusty car makes absolutely no sense. And besides, the repair itself is unprofessional. A lot of cars are coming to Europe. It would be better if Americans didn't repair cars at all, because then we have a problem rebuilding these cars.
So repairing it makes no sense, but you say when they come to Europe you have to rebuild them. So it's ok for you Europeans to rebuild them but not Americans? You make no sence. Sometimes cars have a sentimental value, and are rebuilt no matter how far gone they are. His repairs and attention to detail look great!
@@blakeerdmann You got it wrong. Repair of classic cars after they were repaired by Americans are often more damaged than they were originally. It's hard to rebuild cars when you don't know what the original parts looked like. An example here is the B-pillar he welded inside. What he did here was a disaster. The car was painted with a spray can, the silicones were applied with a finger, crooked, ugly and tragic, even in places where they shouldn't be.
I'm in Brazil and I think this restoration is perfect! Congratulations, this is very well done.
Thank you very much! =)
No talk/near no talk car resto videos, the unsung heroes of YT!
Thank you for letting us watch!
Thanks, I appreciate it!
@@CTmoog Boy all of that talking in the middle, had to skip over it. Still enjoyed the other parts.
A ton of work and you do it all by yourself! That's what I like about these videos.
Saame!
Much appreciated! I enjoy the challenge. 👍
Hats off for CT. Since I watched your VW T1 videos, I never thought that you can mobilize such a motivation!
Thanks buddy! =)

Excellent video... Please dont delete it for at least the next 5 years, I might need it!
You got to finish the beetle it's been two years that am waiting for new videos on it.😭😭🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Love this channel dude! Been watching for over a year and last week bought a 62 beetle, luckily its not very rusty! But will be a fun build!
Thank you! =) That's awesome! Have fun with your build! 😎 62 is a good year!

Thanks Anthony! Thanks for the tip! 😎
Super awesome job! What kind of undercoating are you going to spray on the bottom of the car, inside the finders, and frame?
That fuzz you find is Horsehair they used it in the seats and any padding in the interior. Yes I have studied those vehicles😂
My honda element replacing the door latch was incredibly difficult. Finally just got a drill out.
That’s a tough one! Good job getting it done. 😎
1:48:43 What should I say: Perfect welding. Good luck CT
CT welding primer between sheets 👍
well done. what was that light green stuff brushed on the passenger inside rear back seat? some anti rust stuff?
Boom >1:15, CT hits the gas !! .... hey what's the deal with Sandusky OH ? Bring your bus there Columbus Day Weekend and take the Ferry to Kombi's on Kelley's Island.
Is this the first 65 or the second one? They both are great projects!
Are you keeping the outside patina or painting it its original white color?
Keeping the patina for now. I'm looking for one with less rust to paint.
@ are you planning on keeping this car or selling it?

Back in the 80's when i walked into a vw parts store i saw both j tubes original with the heater core. 20 BUCKS for the pair
Is this Bama or Georgia?
Looks like Georgia
yea the first one that he did the metal work to....Remix. put all the videos together for a full view of the process.
Georgia! =)
Super brawo, super, super, super super super super super super super super super super super super super super super super super

Hard to believe there is metal under all that rust
Yes, this one is pretty rusty! =)

protect those pop out windows with paper or cardboard, the hot sparks of metal will sink into them....
Nice!

So you’re gonna paint it pink now, right? 😂

feels like I have seen this before? lol. i might be mistaken
Yes, you have seen this before. It a few videos all together from last year.
Whilst I admire your work ethic CT, I agree with Piecka, find a body in better condition, this one is dead as Monty Pythons parrot.

It's about to bring such a classic car back to life! It seems to be a long way to make it roadworthy but still

@ Are you laughing at your own ignorance and tolerance of amateur car restoration?
