Their debut "Frequencies" is still as fresh as today - they have that "Kraftwerk gone techno" sound about them RIP Mark. Btw I saw Gez do a set yesterday, it was nostalgic!
Mark Bell fue uno de los genios detrás de este grupo LFO y con este comentario me gustaría rendir homenaje a su persona y su sentido de la música. Su trabajo con Bjork fue excepcional y con su música vivirá por siempre.
while the track itself is still alright, it’s funny how the video obviously borrows a LOT from chris cunningham’s aphex twin videos - particularly in terms of cinematography and editing. even the colour grading resembles come to daddy.
Yes boys and girls, that’s a cassette tape. Think Betamax or VHS for music, and early pc data,,, listen at me, comparing a cassette tape to similar tech from the same time period. Might as well bring up 8 track tapes. Anyway, the compact laser disc did to cassette tapes what cassettes did to vinyl records, even though vinyl does sound better. All one has to do now is have a device that they upload music files into wirelessly. What’s next, implants directly into the brain? Should do wonders for sound quality, but imagine how expensive that’ll be.
I was born in the right country, at the right time, and I'm guessing the right background as I was studying in London and heavily into producing IDM (hate the phrase!) when this came out. None of that matters though! As long as you somehow found this gem you were in the right place at the right time and were lucky enough to enjoy something many others will never discover.
LFO LFO was Warp records first release. 001 in 1990. Aphex twins first release was in 1992 on Apollo, out of Belgium. Signed to Warp Records in 1993. Check the LFO Leeds Warehouse mix or Simon From Sydney. Stunning stuff back in 1991.
Obsessed with Gaspar Noe’s intro of Enter the Void that has this song on
Rest in peace Mark.
Outstanding, the drum programming is top tier.
Nobody would question me if I claimed this 20 year old track was released yesterday.
I think that it has 31 years ❤
@@agustinavazquez9952 appears on Sheath released in 2003. Early LFO will take one back 33-34 years and that can sound fresh too.
Warp stuff has aged like fine wine. You can play it for a 20 year old and they're like "Wait! What? WHOOOOA!!!"

I agree but it's also that 90s Warp aesthetic.

Consuming music in a manner that totally bypasses the use of the ear would definitely make me freak
this is the music that makes me regret being born in the wrong country, at the wrong time and from the wrong background.
Except being born when you did, makes being born in the wrong country, at the wrong time, in the wrong background irrelevant.
Same. My new year's resolution is to be born again into western European aristocracy.

Underestimating Mark Bell??

LFO are the GOATS, and don’t you forget it. Even Richard D James would let you know. R.I.P. Mark Bell.

Such bad music. What went wrong with LFO?
Trippin
Bro was clearly looking for LFO the boy band. 🤣🤣🤣
