White army of Russia farewell of slavianka

  • The song was composed in 1912, as Russia was awash in rumors about the impending new Balkan War, in which the Slavs would be pitted against the Ottoman Turks, and Orthodox Christianity against Islam.
The melody gained popularity in Russia and adjoining countries during the World War I, when the Russian soldiers left their homes accompanied by this music. It was also used as an unofficial anthem of Admiral Kolchak's White Army.
The word "Slavic" in the title of the march, which otherwise invokes only Russia, is a tribute as much to the pan-Slavist ideology of the preceding century as to its transformation into Russian nationalism on the eve of WWI.
    ---
    ---
    Farewell of a Slavic Woman

Arise, Russian Land, defend your Faith!
We have composed many a song in our heart,
    Glorifying the native fields.
We've loved you no matter what,
    You, our holy Russian land.
    You've raised your head high,
You face has been shining like the sun.
    You've become a victim of betrayal --
by those who have cheated and sold you!
    Refrain:
    Again, march ahead!
    Again, the bugle calls!
    Again, we'll join the ranks
And all march into the holy battle.
Arise, Russian Land, defend the faith!
    Russia's holiness awaits victory.
    Respond, the Orthodox host!
    Where is your Ilya Muromets,
    Where is Dobrynia?
The mother is summoning her sons.
    Refrain
We all are children of a Great Power,
We all remember the forefathers' commandment:
For the sake of the Flag, Honor, Glory,
Pity neither yourself not the foe.
Arise, Russia, from your prison of slavery,
Victory's spirit is calls: time to do battle!
    Rise your battle flags
    For Truth, Beauty, and Good.
    Refrain

Oh, it's so nice to hear the old Tsarist version of this song being played here. There were so many versions of the Red Army Choir singing this with the Soviet lyrics, that it was about time that someone that played the original version for once! This version is actually nicer, tbh.

They fought like heroes, being loyal till the end...
Even after Emperor and his family were murdered, they were still loyal.
When their own people turned against them, the people that they ought to protect, and just a little bit ago suffered heavy casualties defending them in WW1 - they still were loyal.
When they were ordered to shoot protesters - they often refused.
When they were obviously losing - they still fought.
True loyal heroes of the Empire.

I'm a descendant of white army veterans. Russia military or police during Imperial Russia did not shoot civilians, they shot communists pretending to be the people, who attacked them first, while actually plotting against the population. These "protesters" committed terrorist attacks, against police officers, government officials, etc. That was going on way before the bolshevik coup d'etat in 1917
Everything you hear about Imperial Russia forces, either military or civilian, is a lie, perpetrated and spread by communists to push their own agenda against Russia and Europe
One of the most infamous pieces of red propaganda claims that imperial Russia let the population starve, another huge lie. There was hunger in Russia at the time indeed, but that was because of the specially harsh weather in winter in that time, that killed most crops and didn't allow plantations to grow normally, the Russian government did what they could, and they also got help from other countries like Prussia/Imperial Germany, to relieve the hardships the population was facing.
It was the disgraceful red regime that starved the population on purpose

Glory to the Russian Empire and White Army martyrs! My great grandfather Mikhail settled in Belgrade, Serbia after fleeing Omsk as a child cadet in Omsk's military academy and traveled through China, Indonesia, India, Egypt in order to find his refuge in brotherly Orthodox Serbia where he met my great grandmother. He was one of thousands White Russians that came to Serbia and contributed its society, science and culture tremendously. One of them was also St. John Maximovich. Za veru i Tsarya!

the song really was sung by the whites, but that's only because the Civil war saw many pre-revolution songs re-texted to suit the specific party. The Whites had three variants of the text, all three were the modified WWI text.
Much more was the march called for in later times, with at least 4 texts written in the times of the USSR.
BTW, it was played in the Red Square on November 7, 1941, at the military parade held while the Nazui stood at the gates of Moscow, and the troops passing the square then came directly to the front line. The orchestra, playing for them, was directed by the author of the march himself.

It's because the author betrayed Russia and became a communist, got brainwashed by the red cancer. The Nazis were trying to free Russia from bolsheviks, the real evil. I know that because I'm myself ethnically Russian and my family fought in the Wehrmacht against communists in the Baltics. Previously my family were imperial Russia loyalists and white army veterans.
The eastern front was all about freeing Europeans from the red plague, and Russians were used as meat shields by the red army to be sacrificed, and they were forced to fight for the red army otherwise they were tortured and had their families killed. The resistance regiments against bolsheviks were made up of civilian volunteers, young boys, fighting for their families and their homeland against the red enemy
A lot of Russians who had to flee when bolsheviks perpetrated the coup d'etat after murdering Tzar Nicholas and his family, fought alongside Germany to try to liberate Russia from communism

@@MybeautifulandamazingPrincess if only they had known what the Germans had in store for them when the war was over...
But, in all seriousness, the Nazis weren't some "liberators". They wished to end all races they considered to be "undesirables". If you wish to see what I mean, look up a movie called: "Come and See". Yes, it's a Soviet film, but that should not matter. Seeing as the director consulted many partisans (civilians and soldiers) who fought the German's in Belarus. Also, to them, it really wouldn't have mattered if they fought for the Germans or not, as they would have been killed or enslaved for being Russian.

But that's just the point! that this is the text written in 1941, and apparently on the order of Nazi Germany. In order to attract to their ranks of Russian emigrants.
And in 1941, has not been long since the White Russian Army, and those Russian and not only Russian who fought on the side of Nazi Germany, the respect I have not cause

    I ditto your comments, "Thx1138d"

Of course, we can turn ourselves to Soviet documentaries, but don't western documentaries denote Soviet ones? I love that logic, when they try to pull it.
Its only good that Soviet documentaries aren't very accessible trough RUclips or public internet. You should really visit Russia some day, especially Moscow museum of Armed Forces...

Ходил. Очень удобная, особенно зимой по снегу километров 15 до города идти. Нужна для того, что нет средств на нормальную обувь а босиком не особо походишь.

There could be reports of the crimes (as there were), and how they dealt with them. There can be reports of German commanders on their war path...etc Just search for scientific method, and all will be clear. (this is something they teach you in elementary school, at least it was like that in 'east')
