    Took a long time of me trying to get it to work, either the top or bottom screen was black, just remember if your screen is black on 8:43 the connector is supposed to be flipped brown side away from the motherboard, my only advice is to make sure the connectors aren't damaged and if they are keep trying to fully connect them, even slightly loose and it won't work

    Thank you for this! If you don't mind, I do have a question: what's your take on glass touch screens for the 3DS? In my searches on eBay, I have come across both plastic and glass replacement digitizers for 3DS models, but I am unsure of how they compare to Nintendo's stock plastic ones. Would glass variants differ from plastic touch screens in responsiveness or sensitivity, or in any other way?

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  3 года назад +8

      The Nintendo ones are two piece, plastic touchscreen with a glass backing. If you just buy the plastic it is very hard to install on the Nintendo glass as you would have to separate the old plastic from the glass. Better off buying the complete unit (aka glass touch screen)

    • @Squienigma
      @Squienigma 3 года назад +2

      @@TheFixTech thanks for the reply! Forgive me, but I am still a bit confused and hoping you can clarify for me. If I wanted to remove my entire bottom screen without separating the LCD from the digitizer (for safekeeping), then buy 2 separate pieces (a new IPS LCD and a new digitizer to go on top of it), would you still recommend a glass digitizer? It seems like these glass digitizers would create an experience that feels like a tablet or smartphone, while Nintendo's stock digitizers are that plastic film that hover loosely over the glass, but I have no knowledge or experience regarding any pros and cons of going with a glass aftermarket digitizer in terms of performance or ease of installation. Your guidance is very greatly appreciated! 😊

    Hello! This was a very informative and relaxing video. I do have one (potentially dumb) question. Is the lens (or digitizer?) that goes over the LCD what makes a screen an IPS screen or is it the LCD screen itself?

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  2 года назад +4

      No, the touchscreen (digitizer) is only a touchscreen. The LCD itself is what determines if the screen is an ips. If you are looking for a genuine screen I recommend purchasing a used screen taken from working 3ds

    I got a new digitizer, but it feels really grainy when I run the stylus over it. It has a totally different "feel" to the original. Has anyone here found somewhere that sells digitizers that feel like the original ones? I don't want to attempt to replace my old one until I'm sure the new one I have just bought is the best option...

      The touchscreen connector is located at the top of the board where the skinny touch screen cables attached to. If the connector is damaged then a new one will have to be soldered on. You can find the connectors on eBay.

    I have a question: I followed your video and managed to replace my digitiser, however the touchscreen seems less responsive now than it should be. Do you reckon it's a deeper issue or is it just because the digitiser was cheap quality? I tried two of them from different sellers and had the same issue.

    Hi Great video.
    I think the touch screen is what is wrong with my 'new 3 DS XL - US version'. Below I have 3 questions?
    - How did you source the screen? ebay? amazon?
    -The screen below the touch screen, how can you tell if that is not working a(nd can you buy the complete lower screen(touch screen + digital screen)
    - do you know if there is a difference between the Europe and US touch screen i.e. do you have to ensure you buy the correct one?
    Thanks in advance

    • @TheFixTech
      @TheFixTech  4 года назад +2

      I found the touch screen on ebay, make sure you purchase the correct model. The screen below the touch screen is the lcd, if the picture is clear and you can see the image when the system is powered on then it is good. Yes they can be purchased together, or you can buy a broken new 3ds xl for parts and use that. No difference in parts between any region version. All same parts.
