Would you mind of I wait here with you?" "Naw, stick around if you like, perhaps he will be there for us is Victoria 3 shites itself. Who knows, but keep the dream alive."
5 years later and still no new upload feels bad man was actually hoping Reynold would make something outta this given the success he's had with these videos :l
+Snarfindorf I hope its Sega and not CA...I recently (In a discussion about EA's practices) said that Creative Assembly and Bethesda Softworks are the only companies I trust to put out a good game every so often and make me happy without too much hassle.....SIGH....Only days later this happens.
+Mhkail Reilly Second that, Bethesda restored allot of my faith in games with Skyrim. I hope they keep their business model going.. I got the complete Legendary Pack and after 2 years of playing I'm still not bored of it. Don't think i'll ever feel compelled to buy another Total War title. They're going too far with the dlc. It's like they're selling drugs to the fans, they know most wont kick the habit and keep buying.
Mhkail Reilly That's your opinion, but as someone who's been playing PC games since around 2006, there are countless other RPGs that surpass Skyrim purely through dialogue.
+Reynold Sanity literally you are one of the most entertaining game reviewers/youtubers I have ever watched, and your output is so damn slow. You have what it takes man. Do more of it!
So what you are saying is that Warhammer came out and shit all over the historics? (Warhammer 2 has the best user reviews since Med 2) or are you saying another company needs to do it. CA has the monopoly in this type of strategy, so the chances of another company actually becoming competitive in the type of strategy is unlikely
The pirating is going to be real mate, no doubt. I'm no nerd of warhammer, but I'm PRETTY SURE chaos is kinda like the most important race/faction RIGHT?!?? Total War: Rome III Pay 12$ to play as Rome!
+KmanBEASTALICIOUS ' It's basically like having Rome 2 without Carthage, or Lord of the Rings without Mordor, or Total War: Hundred Years' war without fucking England. It's bad xD
The Greek City States DLC for rome II will look like a blessing compared to this. I mean yes the Greeks are important to have in a game in the ancient times but it wasn't THAT bad. They still had the basic Rome, Carthage, Barbarian Tribes, Etc be free in the base game. BUT WITH THIS IT'S JUST TOTAL BS!
I remember the time when if you wanted to play as any unique Factions in Rome 1, you had to complete the game with the base factions to unlock them. Now you have to pay for them to unlock them.
+Dolfy Hey look at it this way If it's just 11 it's most likely that most of the bigger games coming out this year or next are already being bought out, like Fallout 4, Battlefront, Deus Ex mankind divided, dishonored 2, ect. ATW was said to be #1 on steam in pre-orders yet it's actual sells were when it was released were pretty bad according to steam, measuring only at an abysmal 300,000 or so. Not only that but with Steam refunds once those people get the game and if it is pretty shitty, All that money CA and Sega thought they were gonna get will end up being taken away just as fast as they received it.
It should sell a lot more than Rome 2. It has all the visuals a filthy casual enjoys. And I can't imagine them releasing a total broken mess again as bad as Rome 2 especially with the previewed battles.
Reynold, you're officially my TW-sage. I bin' playin since the start (still own shogun 1 with the original cardboard box) and you still manage to somehow show me stuff I didn't know/notice. Legendary insight, sensei. Legendary.
@@samtemdo8 I think it's aged fine, since this is more of an attack of the idea of publishing a half released game as a 'full title' and charging insane amounts of money. I remember when games used to cost between £8 and the expensive ones were £20 but were worth the money and the time. Now, it's £50 for a game full of bugs and will take years to release patches. Just look at Cyberpunk 2077.
Oh shit I'm early. Better make a joke. Creative Assembly. Reynold. Your fuckin awesome. I hope you keep making videos because me and everyone else bloody loves em.
Getting 11:000 subscribers with only 8 Videos, shows how awesome you and your work are. Hope to see you in the futere wehen they decide to make another TW title.
+Scott Poet Interesting point. I think people wouldn't complain at all, because CA is saying their game is worth 72 dollars on release, it well could be, but there not trying to force you into a corner over by holding something hostage to pre-order. It's still cheaper than rome 2 on release at least for me. I honestly believe that would be a far better thing to do as a company. Declare, "we have made this, and believe it is worth this." Rather than, "we've made this, taken away a fifth that's only free if you buy it now on faith, otherwise your losing money"
+Reynold Sanity I would agree. I'm guessing WHTW was very expensive to make, but some marketing team in Japan is too worried about raising the price to match it. What they don't understand is that when they scheme to make up production costs with shit DLC/Pre-order practices like this, they are going to get a lot worse blow back than if they had just raise the fucking price of the video game.
+Scott Poet What SEGA want is you to give you them their money without reading reviews. If the game is good they can ask $100. You are not getting 'FREE DLC' you are paying with the option to not buy if it when it sucks.
+Scott Poet honestly id pay that price if it ment id get all the essential content and if it was fully functional and maybe id pay for any expansions later down the line that added SIGNIFIGANT additions to the overall experience. I feel like if CA was still the honest company it was in the past id give them my money, but now that they have become this 2 faced jackal i dont feel that sense of trust anymore nor willingness to give them my hard earned cash.
+robosoldier11 I'm almost certain this has nothing to do with CA. It's some marketing company. Their type, rely on profit projections and always play it safe. While they have no data on how well a game will sell at $72 they have a lot of data on making customers buy DLC that doesn't make sense, and that they hate but feel they need to buy anyway.
+Johnny The Dark Sure Napoleon had a small campaign but the amount of units you could choose from was amazing. Battles were really fluent too and could sometimes last ages if both sides were playing tactically. Napoleon was not dumbed down at all, Empire had a big campaign but tons of bugs and little variation between nations.
Right War Bastard? Pretty glaring hypocrisy that was totally ignored for 8 months. LOL Anyhow, I'm with the original commenter. I just spent a few weeks playing campaigns of the original MTW and now playing some campaigns of RTW. Haven't touched any new ones. Not even shogun. Oh well
War Bastard I mainly just auto resolve in Medieval 1. Controls are just so bad now lol. The campaign mechanics still amuse me. Last campaign I played was the French and tried to do the glorious achievement krak des chevaliers. Ended up failing miserably but was fun trying again.
+Jak Kuhl Get the MOS submod. It adds a crap ton of smaller portions to the overhaul, including but not limited to, new unique units (tied very closely to the lore), the Elves of Lorien faction, more scripts for immersion purposes, and proper voice acting in most of the game.
Man, this game is actually really fun. Really polished too. There are some balance issues though but that is a given for a game that has just been released.
Wow Reynold, that was some of your most eloquent work, comparing the Crusader Kings diplomacy modifiers to SEGA's FU business tactics. I dig what your putting down.
I'll wait till they will release it. Check the game on Kickass. If it's good, I'll buy it on a steam sale. If not - I'll still play Call of Warhammer mod for Medieval 2 Total War.
Charles Turner All the stupid DLC should be out then. All the stupid bugs they always do a lot should be fixed by then. The price should be around 10 Euros on a Steam sale. No risk (depending if the Kickass version will be OK - if not I won't buy it)
I wait with baited breath for your videos. please upload more and more. i have rewatched them all about 5 times. please for the love of all that is good in this world upload more critique videos.
+Reynold Sanity I agree my good sir. ive been discussing theses practices like this for years amongst my friends. most will say. "atleast (this) is better than getting (so and so) or nothing. I tell them if we dont stand or do something about it. then we wont get any better and will get nothing. if we rock the boat make a stand. it wont blow up the game industry. we do it because we love it and want to se it improve. this has got to stop! we making a stand will improve things significantly. many ppl still seem to not understand and believe in that. We the consumers are what keeps this machine of a division running!
Would like to resist, but if the sales for Total War: Warhammer are poor, we'll likely never see another game like it for years to come, if we ever do. They do have a monopoly, and it's either pay what they ask, or move along. And I can't bring myself to simply move along. I've sunk lower for much less. Also, love your videos. Third of all, I now hate CA, and all of their congealed failures, and what they *could* have been. Conclusion? I won't be buying this, and I suggest no one else does either.
Just played good ol' Rome 2 again today after reading some enlightening RUclips comments along the lines of "nah bruh rome 2 is awesome now everything is fixed." As I reflected upon the shitrocity that I was playing I realised, every single bad point was not due to a clusterfuck of circumstances, it was due to bad oversight and bad human decisions from the very top. Every one of those bad points could have been avoided if not for the criminal incompetence and apathy of Rome 2's 'creative director.' Whether Warhammer is good or not will depend simply on who is running the project, if that person is apathetic, careless and more than willing to take 1 step forward 2 steps back like with Rome 2 or on the other hand if that person has a real vision of what a GOOD Total War game should look like. If they do, then even the unpreferrable warscape engine will be able to make for a decent game at the end of the day. It doesn't take a genius to make a new decent Total War game. Just someone who actually cares. Also if they rehire Jeff van Dyck or not. They better.
Weee! A video from Reynold! Finally. ;) Nice metaphore with those relation points. I don't play TW's other than M2TW mods and I'm not going to buy this new game, but I'm a fan of Battlefield series and I bought new Battlefront and I feel I'm treated just like you described it. Those companies don't create games anymore, they mass-produce them. They have skilled programers and graphic artists who can make body and brain of a game, but not the soul of it, as they lack people with passion and vision on senior positions.
The chaos faction isn't even free to pre-order, considering the game costs £20! more than Rome 2's pre-order price of £30. Complete BS from Sega and CA just to make quick money by deceiving their customers, instead of actually making a quality product. They could have sold much more DLC because of the war-hammer licence to get extra money and I wouldn't mind paying a bit extra. Sega and CA should at the very least put chaos into the base game as it had originally, then they can't pressure pre-orders unfairly by holding back 20% of the game. Do not pre-order the game in it's current state, Sega will only answer to our wallets.
Dude, the sound is SOOOO LOWWW!!!! Other than that, great video. In fact all your videos really help anyone figure out what are the errors and mistakes made by the gaming industry and wether a game is worth a buy or not :D No Rome 2 for me xDD
And when the world needed him the most, he vanished.
"Who are you waiting for, old man?"
"Well, **sip,** I don't reckon he'll be showin' up anymore... But, I'll wait for em', for as long as draw breath."

You forgot to label the dragon ogres hammer "CA". Because it's an inanimate object that is owned, used as a tool, and has no control over its actions.
We need him back, more epic videos.
We still need him back...
CA has betrayed the fans again. Reynold is the hero we need today.
Holly fucking shit, you are back?

thought you sais he was black
dude, make more videos.

+Reynold Sanity Do Rome 2 2-and-half years on. Plus Med 2 Rome 1 legacy. Shogun 2 and Empire disapointment. Plus Warhammer expectations.
You better review warhammer. You're basicly my god when it comes to total war xD
I'm not buying Warhammer till you review it
*still waiting for new video*
still waiting indeed
ObywatelCe yup
Yep
Bobby Blackbeard haha
Hah
im still waiting for his return
you know how city skylines came out and shit all over sim city?..
I want that to happen to the total war series
I would actually quite like that. Give the fans what they actually want.

I miss your amazing delivery and voice...
I hope you come back soon :(
Sorry man but your volume is WAY too low
+Salokin Sekwah Yer sorry kinda rushed it out in a day
+Reynold Sanity what did Angry Joe say again? I couldn't understand what you were saying

+Salokin Sekwah Still better quality than Rome 2
That's a reoccuring theme with Mr. Sanity.
A new Reynold Sanity video? Fuck the hell yes.
What happened to you? We need your hot-takes now more than ever!
As I'm writing this, Total War: Warhammer is 11th top selling game on Steam. Fucking hell, SEGA is probably having an evil grin now.
Dear sega, CA, and all the other companies that allowed this shit to happen
Fuck you

I couldn't hear shit in this video

Same.
I really hope he eventually does a review on Warhammer... Honestly, I must have watched his Rome II videos about 5 times by now. XD
Yo still waiting for that Warhammer Review
Hey man. When we can expect "why total war warhammer failed"?
actually it's quite good. Have you even played it?
Youp it's good. This is why i want to find some angry rev about it.
Nah, medieval mod is too old for me. Warhammer is great.
koviack Eh every total wars is "dumbed down garbage" from empire. Shogun 2 too. But still - warhammer is the most funny to play.
+Johnny The Dark Sure Napoleon had a small campaign but the amount of units you could choose from was amazing. RUclips didn't deserve a Reynold Sanity
Man, this game is actually really fun. Really polished too. There are some balance issues though but that is a given for a game that has just been released.

Where you at brother? We need you!!!!!!
We need you back Reynold!
Aaand now i want BRIAN BLESSED voice pack for Medieval 2 ...

Thats basically Machiavellian and it has gotten more common across the board.
You and GGmanlives should do a duo review. Both Australian accents and just straight trough without the kiddy bullshit.
Love it!
Wow Reynold, that was some of your most eloquent work, comparing the Crusader Kings diplomacy modifiers to SEGA's FU business tactics. I dig what your putting down.
The masses calls out to you
God please come back
I'll wait till they will release it. Check the game on Kickass. If it's good, I'll buy it on a steam sale. If not - I'll still play Call of Warhammer mod for Medieval 2 Total War.
+GrandAdmThrawn Tis truly the best Warhammer Total War experience.
+GrandAdmThrawn Except like Angry Joe said, if you buy it, you are telling them what are doing is ok. So don't buy it, even if it is on sale.
Charles Turner
Buying the game 2 years after its release won't tell them anything (I guess).
GrandAdmThrawn Why risk it?
Charles Turner
All the stupid DLC should be out then. All the stupid bugs they always do a lot should be fixed by then. The price should be around 10 Euros on a Steam sale. No risk (depending if the Kickass version will be OK - if not I won't buy it)
So it seems based on all the latest footage that they've ditched kill moves and gone back to a Rome type system.
Well, on the plus side, you may have sold me on Crusader Kings.
You still alive mate???
Turn the sound up for christs sake i'm at 100% volume and you're still in a shy whisper
Are you going to make anything new? Please?? I want another sane critique!!!
You would love seeing CA doing right now lol
Logical and intelligent response to a dog act. Thank you

Imperial Fantasy is one thing. Warhammer is so far off fantasy that it has fallen off the edge of the world.
Imperial The art, the lore, the technology. Pretty much all of it.

you put out a video per year and you still have 11.071 subs that sould ring some bells to you

Awesome to see a new video from you. Can't wait to see a review of Warhammer Total War if you make one.
What happened to this guy. He gets so many views. We need "Why TW:Warhammer Failed" video.
THE SIXEYE Maybe he died
The "fail" is about failing to met fan expectations, not about sales
Probably why Reynold didn't make a Sane Critique of it then
So stupidly quiet.
Good video Reynold, i'm also pissed if they make the Empire one faction tho.
Yup u said it all
Dude make more videos ur awesome!! And I love watching ur rants!
Good to see you're back mate!
That's only the beginning 3 an half years without a proper strategy T_T i am losing hope.
I just came here to check, if you have done anything about new Total War. Cant wait till your next video ;)
raises pirate hook hand
Dude, the sound is SOOOO LOWWW!!!! Other than that, great video. In fact all your videos really help anyone figure out what are the errors and mistakes made by the gaming industry and wether a game is worth a buy or not :D No Rome 2 for me xDD
