The Olympics is a sham, gone is the true philosophy of amateurs gathering every four years to compete. These are mostly well paid professionals. We spend many millions on these people whom are hardly doing this for any altruistic reasons. Golf and tennis lol, multi millionaires competing. We then reward them with knighthood etc for doing something they are paid to do. Most of the UK competitors won't even qualify for the final event. It's embarrassing to know even before the opening ceremony that most are not good enough.
@@Jabberstax money is why. We compete in many more sport events than poorer nations. I can't see Papua new Guinea competing in equestrian events, swimming or gymnastics. The richest nations will always top the tables for the same reason. ....enter all events because we can afford it. The richest nations push to add events only they can compete, doubt many African countries will enter beach volleyball or tennis.
