I’m going to miss Rafa a lot. He was the reason I fell in love with tennis. My uncle used to tell me to watch him, and there was something about him that I had never seen before-an unmatched, never-die attitude. The 2008 Wimbledon final confirmed it for me, and since then I’ve watched him religiously. Every match was interesting, dramatic, and full of quality. I’ll continue to watch tennis, of course, but I won’t be as invested as I was when he played. Thank you, Rafa! You are my GOAT.”

Watching some of the shots and gets by Alcaraz, I can only imagine the battles him and a young Rafa would have had. It was obvious Nadal was a bit ginger with the movement here, but the lethality of his strokes and ability to absorb pace were undiminished.

Seems like 2025 would be the best possible time to bring back the ATP Champions Tour. Doesn't even have to be a whole "tour", just an annual tournament or even a Laver Cup style exhibition... imagine a field next year including Roger, Rafa, Andy, Thiem, Schwartzman, Fognini, Simon, Isner, Anderson, Gasquet... soon to be joined by Stan, Monfils, RBA, Nishikori and Cilic. Even if somehow Nole manages to hold off for a couple more years, that's still an amazing lineup that would be must-see tennis.

Nadal will be missed. He is without a doubt the king of clay and the greatest spin meistro ever to grace the game. A legend. It was a pleasure to watch him play his last game. Looks like the torch is passed to Carlos.

Nadal's movement is painful to watch. 😢To think this was one of the most gruelling competitors 🎾 has ever seen before. Alcaraz's avg groundstroke speed looks to be almost twice Rafa's 😢. Good call made by Nadal to retire at the end of the year. He will be missed.

We love you Rafa. Thank you for an amazing career. I will always believe djokovic is the GOAT. But you are still my hero also and to be honest when I play tennis I try to play like you not djokovic. Who doesn’t try to emulate his forehand!? And I’m a lefty and even more so. Congrats to carlito. Spanish tennis is in great hands.
