That's a common thing actually. Especially teens but not uncommon in adult relationships also. Part of why reflective listening is so effective, hearing their own words spoken back to people gives the illusion that you really "get" them.
Hi Jordan and fellow grupies 👋. Just got home from work and I haven't slept in 2 days due to my smokers cough keeping me up. Day 2 of trying (for the 3rd time) to quit smoking. Thank you for the stories Jordan and I hope you're doing well ❤️🫂🙏
Hope you feel better. Try some Mullens Tea, it will get rid of that annoying cough within 2 cups. It helps smokers as well as ex smokers get rid of all that built up poison that we have put in our bodies with that smoking. Congratulations on quitting and good luck.
The blue Giraffe is cool but the made up fruit the giraffe was eating I found more interesting. As no description of it exists but I could still imagine it.
The whole imagery had a very satisfactory weird fiction flavour to it. I could really imagine it. If I could draw or paint I would have liked to put the imagination to paper.
Someone spoke the first word... More importantly, someone listened... ... that really got my attention. So many people seem to have lost the ability to really listen (not just hear- in one ear and out the other). I often take the time to listen to a story, or just the rain outside or.. dead quiet late at night. With the lights out. Even if mostly in my busy life I listen to stories when doing something industrous.. cooking, folding clothes... The best times are when I can manage to make time to just sit on my arse in a dimly lighted room and listen to a story.
Lovecraft type monster who taught humanity to speak is spreading its influence through words. Main character got infected by the book. His students got infected from his lectures. And we got infected by listening to this story.
Cursive in 1910 is very scripty and hard to read. You go find a text, especially a personal journal or diary from that time period and attempt to read it perfectly well. Has nothing to do with "our education system" save the fact this is a FICTIONAL story. Cursive then, written likely with quill or early style pen and loose ink isn't anywhere near what we were taught in school.
I could barely read cursive back when it was being taught. It looks like scribbles. I'm glad we moved away from cursive. We aren't using old ink pens anymore we can lift our pens from paper and print our letters now. Hey at least he was able to read the cursive.

No truer words have been spoken about coffee 😂
Very Lovecraftian. Unsettling. Well done
The nerd in me is seriously rooting for the main charechter in this one
Blue giraffe, ha? Dr Bogen does have a point. Great story. Thank you. 🦄
People are not mind readers.
If someone waits until you say the right thing. She will never hear you at all

I learned my lesson on dating those types of women.
the right thing was: will you be my gf? is that simple.
Blue giraffe, Blue Sunflowers.
Its another idea being used as a lighthouse for the Things beyond the veil.
Then why... why is my giraffe purple?
@KibuFox Oh god! My memory Sucks Ass.
blue life forms are extremely rare on earth

This is such a powerful story.
This sounds like something H.P. Lovecraft would have written if he were born in our era and was alive today. Seriously, wow!

An English teacher thinks something written in Cursive is “hard to read”? Dear Lord; our education system is a failure…
In America probably lol

Since reading is racisms and colonialism I’d say so lol.
Um, it’s a fictional story…
