Jeff King They were pretty nice, except when they included the rubberized coating. Both the G3 & G5 had them. It makes the radios sticky and ugly looking.
TVRadio1972 I removed the coating on mine. Plastic razor blade and “Protective Coating Remover”(“ R-34-g) from Granitize auto detail supplies. And the lettering is still on.
Thank you for watching. I have a radio in which the telescopic antenna came off. That one is the Grundig YB-400PE, but I can still listen to FM & Shortwave using an external reel antenna.
@@tvradio1972 Great idea. It is difficult to buy any 'radio' accessories (like Vinyl case or kickstand etc). I use a bamboo book stand for this purpose. If someone breaks the kickstand, this $10 tablet stand can be so helpful.
@@johnyole7625 You're welcome. There are a couple of external reel antenna available on Amazon for less than $13.00 USD. You can buy either the Kaito T-1 or the XHDATA AN-80 antenna for that price.
I rarely use it these days. Not only is the SYNC poor, there is imaging on both the LW & MW bands. The imaging comes from nearby powerful 50kW stations, especially WABC on 770 kHz. I have the Eton Elite Executive and Tecsun PL-660 and both those radios are much better.
Hi. I have one of these and it is a very poor radio. On the surface, it looks good but in practice it is almost useless. The keypad is poor. It overloads and its audio quality is poor too. I have it in its Eton version and it was a waste of money. Caveat Emptor!
Nice radio.
I have a G-6 “Buzz Aldrin”. edition. It’s my only Grundig.
These older Grundigs were pretty nice.
📻👍🙂‼️

Same here
@@jeffking4176 Same here.. used a product called Purple Power that got all of the rubberized coating off.
I have the same radio! It works great, but the telescopic antenna is gone, but my shortwave reel anteena works as the radio's antenna.

Excellent Radio
Thank you Tariq.
Got this radio As well
Cool!
What radio stand are you using ? Looks like a 'IPad' or 'Tablet' stand. Let us know.
It's a tablet stand.

@@Xmukherjee Thank you so much. Have a good day.
What are you using for an external antennae?
For this video, I used the Eton AN-03 which came with my Eton E10 radio.
@@tvradio1972 Thank you I might need one of those

Very poor radio. MW volume is too low. SYNC performs very poorly. Sensitivity is on the low end.
