In response to comments about the new marshmallow waffle video that has since been uploaded...
At no point in this video did I say the marshmallow recipe was "fake". I said it was technically possible, as it is just melting a marshmallow and letting it set again. I also said it would be tricky on a waffle maker. I then showed making it and found it was not a good choice of appliance and not fast either. Most people who try what was shown in the original video will end up with a mess on their waffle maker that is very hard to clean.
The new yummy waffle video shows exactly what I already said and showed in my video:
    1. As I said in my video, it is technically possible.
    2. You need to add oil (which is what Dave tasted and said it was not good with marshmallow)
    3. You need a waffle maker without a pattern or it will stick and need hours of cleaning
    4. You don't put the lid down for the whole time or it will stick
    5. You need to let the marshmallow cool before removing it from the waffle maker - which takes about 15 minutes of waiting (this is not shown in their original video but is shown in the updated version).
In this video, I show a much faster, cleaner and easier method that tastes good.
Please ensure that you actually watch this video first before leaving a comment that doesn't make sense.

Yes, you always say that they’re upstairs or otherwise occupied. Then you close the door and hope they didn’t catch you lying. That’s why you don’t open the door; you don’t know if they’re going to try something. It’s better for them to just assume nobody’s home or that someone’s in the house but they’re not answering. If in the end, they break in, at least you get a chance to hide because you don’t know what a person would do with unsupervised access to a minor.

I am not saying that this a a real explanation.
But a relatively non-sinister explanation could be that the stories got clicks, so they just put the audio with the video without any concern about content.
No need to attribute to conspiracy what can be explained by greed.

    • @thedestroyasystem
      @thedestroyasystem 2 года назад +47

@@ruthspanos2532 that’s what I’m figuring, too. I mean look at My Story Animated and all those kinds of channels, they’ve been doing this for ages, they’ve just been more upfront about it. I can see why a channel that doesn’t want to put in the effort of animating something, but does want to crank out viral videos, would take the audio from a story that’s already proven to garner RUclips success and add visuals from another RUclips trend. I’ve seen animations, slime, other “oddly satisfying” type stuff, food hacks/recipes, and more set to these audios.

Hi, a local here, about the Vietnamese content farm one, I say this got through because most of older generation of parents in VN are not good with English. Therefore, even when children put these on speaker, the parents most likely will not understand. It's very sinister as the shady company put these kind of content into their already stolen videos of cakes in the name of learning English (which I think that's what they were going for to bypass the strict monitor and censorship in VN). What I find particularly disturbing about the "children stories" is that there is a very large portion of the children population that is abused at home (the numbers are between 1 in 3 to 1 in 5 children in the world experience some form of abuse, usually from relatives) that is EXTRA vulnerable. Particularly when it comes to tales of finding a savior in a stranger (a myth quite prevalent among us because obviously non-strangers are either abusers or some version of enablers), and knowing how little kid/teen fiction addresses this audience specifically (out of fear of shocking the non-abused children, oftentimes). Creepy disgusting pedophiles are always thinking of ways to lure children into their webs. Now they can use cooking videos and creepy storytelling to promote their propaganda and condition children to believe that not all strangers the kids don't know are bad and if they look a certain way they are safe for the children to interact with and the next thing you know the children are letting their gaurd down and putting themselves in real dangerous situations.. its so disgusting that child traffickers, groomers and pedophiles are always thinking up these kind of schemes to lure children in to their traps .. it just makes me so angry just thinking about it . Those creepy cooking channels should be banned or at least have a warning that those channel's are misleading and should be viewed with parental supervision.. the world continues to spiral down the deep dark rabbit hole and children are still not safe in the 21st century and it affects children of all classes and races . And it seems to be getting worse with each new progressive sick idea that wants society to accept pedophilia as a normal desire and sexualizing our children once they are enrolled in daycare and not even letting our children just be children the progressives have to make sure everything is sexualized at a very young age and that means robbing our children of their childhood and innocents.. our society is becoming sick ... we have to protect our children from those deviants some of them even have political power are in the educational system, churches , and anywhere else they have easy access to our children .. we have to fight for our children's innocence, safety and wellbeing,

I first saw cooking story videos like those posted on RUclips shorts, re-uploaded from TikTok. Some commenters would say that this or that story originated on Reddit or a similar site. I think it probably started out as a way to get children with no attention span to keep watching cooking videos that would otherwise be too boring for them.
The story videos Ann has shown here are creepier than the ones from RUclips shorts/TikTok that I first discovered. By this point, if they're not plagiarized from Reddit, they're probably a case of the writers fooling around and asking each other, "Hey, think we can get away with this?"

I've seen loads of cake decorating videos in particular that use the first part of a reddit/forum story read out to audio to grab your attention (usually a really crazy sounding story so you get invested) and then have a separate video with the 2nd 3rd 4th etc. parts of the story. It's all about the annoying trend of FOMO and upped engagement (I do get why it happens because the algorithm rewards it) but if the youtube channels are doing it to they're probably just banking on the same formula.

Unfortunately there isn't a good way to regulate what is seen on the internet. So you have to really decide on your sensibilities and basically manually check every site and source. But educational and Christian as well as child friendly sites exist. And sites for entertainment too. RUclips does definitely need to ban some dangerous channels which endanger both kids and adults but as for others, it's up to parents to watch channels individually and decide if they do let their kids watch RUclips.

It’s best to not let your children use the internet, period. Even if it seems like a useful distraction, there’s SO many awful ramifications of childhood technology use. It can cause emotional disconnection, shorten attention span, and just deprives a child of being allowed to be creative. Your child should look back at their childhood and think about all the fun projects they tried, not the channels they watched.

@@clownfromclowntown It's not just about "a useful distraction". The internet is helpful and important to learn. School, the library, and parents are not enough. Many parents and schools won't even tell kids what careers exists. There's too many people who said they have regrets of not being able to have their dream careers cause they couldn't start it as a kid or couldn't afford lessons. Such as ballet, athletics, being a professional instrument musician, etc. Some things had to be started as a kid. Finally the internet gives free lessons.
Creativity has to be inspired from somewhere. Such as all the creativity and innovation on the internet. That may be hard to see in real life. The internet also teaches life skills which some parents and many schools are negligent about. Kids need to learn all these things too.
For example, look at the comments on Tantacrul's video on babies and music. So many comments there of regret there of not being exposed, taught, and doing certain things that people have to as a kid to have their dream careers. There was one person there lamenting he/she couldn't have those things as a kid and his missed dream career, so he pushed for communism hoping that would help that.
Kids will use the internet behind parents' backs. Like at libraries or friend houses. It's better to let kids experience things and teach them how to navigate it. Being too strict causes kids to rebel.

@@ryanpascual9598 well considering that most online and in person predators of minors regularly do more or less the same thing, just directly one on one, it is a pretty sound assumption. Most pedophiles start by getting their targets to question if the precautions they have been taught to protect against predators is actually valid and to not question those actions when they do happen and in doing so makes those children particularly vulnerable. Videos like the ones being mentioned basically do it for them before the child even encounters a predator, online or in person.

I've never imagined that such creepy disturbing content would exist on RUclips. What makes it worse how negligent and irresponsible RUclips itself deals with complaints, it's like whatever brings money and to hell with the safety and mental/physical well being of anyone especially children. Thank you so much for caring enough to call them out and for your huge effort.

Yeah you tube allows creepy and disgusting content as long as it fits their narrative but censor actual folks telling truth regarding the pandemic and politics and I am not talking about the conspiracy theorist like q anon and their counterparts on the other side but those with verified research. Yet kids can watch these videos and basically porn, no problem.

If you hate these horrible stories there are dozens of animated channels doing this stuff. Don’t watch the videos from these channels directly, instead watch someone covering them. Jarvis Johnson has a great mini series he did a while back about this stuff, even looking at the hiring practices of those companies and stuff.
It’s disgusting. Some of it is probably grooming, it’s hyper negative, and just generally inappropriate for children.

Many middle eastern and Caribbean countries "wash" their meats, specifically poultry, with citrus and salt. This is because it masks the scent of meat, which isn't very appealing.

I want to agree in spirit because promoting honest content creators is good, however, I felt the opposite at that moment when Ann shrugged her shoulders. With regards to clickbait, "If you can't beat em, join em" has become increasingly common among who I considered to be reliable sources. It's disheartening to see yet more and more of them shrug their shoulders at the idea. I dislike this trend very much, and the ways for expressing dissatisfaction are quickly eroding too. ;)
