- New DJI Drone Vs Old tree. We're off to the Bute-iful Firth of Clyde island of Bute. In between the rain storms we visit some amazing historical places and get close (a bit too close) to nature.
There's also a guest appearance from a very famous old Scottish lady...

Wonderful episode! Fantastic views and photography! Thank you all very much for making and sharing this lovely video! Th viking grave looks much like a parking bumper. Very enjoyable episode! Glad you were not harmed by your drone.❤😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hi Ian, glad to see that the drone is back working again. I’ve always wanted to visit Bute, it is as you say “very pretty “, cheers Steve
Yeah, we really like it there. Just big enough to have everything you need but rural enough to have lots of pretty bits.
I’m so happy to see that your drone survived and I look forward to seeing a video aboard the Waverley. Really enjoyed looking around Bute, thank you for sharing it with us.
We’re definitely planning a trip on the Waverley, looks so cool.
The sponge ware bowl is beautiful. I always enjoy seeing your drone footage. TFS ❤
Thanks so much
I don’t think the people mind DeNiro zooming around on them. Love learning the history of the places you visit. Love the drone footage. You sure that wasn’t a whomping willow tree? They attack birds and such 😂
Ahh, that makes sense. It wasn’t me being an idiot, the tree started it 😂🤣😂
Glad you found the bowl. Good eye there.
That iron hold the boat upright in storage. They used to grease them, and they kick out to slide back in water.
Beautiful scenery there. That church needs much work to convert. Being next to the road would not be ideal.🌻
It’s a cracking looking church, and there’s not a lot of traffic.
Hi from Idaho!Great video! I Love it! My pug eats grass when her tummy is upset, maybe DNiro has one to, Thanks again.
I think he just likes it, he’s done it since we got him.
Charity shop record section. I swear there were some similar records there from the other place you folks went. De'Niro is doing very well at those circle gates. Those islands are on my bucket list, at least one of them. Thanks for sharing!
You do see a lot of very similar records.. lots of tartan and wistful looking young ladies.
Oooops! Glad it was fixable though. Still got some amazing footage as always.
Thanks, Good job it didn’t end up like a Christmas decoration in that tree.
@@scotlandonashoestring haha, no that wouldn't have been very good!
Glad the drone is o.k.! We saw what Deniro bought, but not Bex or your purchase. But fun shopping!😊
Ahh, good point. We’ll remember that in future.
Thanks. I just found out I had ancestors from there who settled in New Hampshire sometime pre-colonial.
Great video . Glad the drone survived.
Yeah, us too. Tough little bird.
oh the Colintraive Ferry, there's a few memories. thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
The Waverly is a really neat ride. You can see the engine working as well as the great scenery.
Yeah, we’re definitely booking for next time she’s on the Clyde.
In the USA courgettes are called zucchini.
Oh man, I LOVE a charity shop too! You find the best holiday souvenirs!
Oopsie! Glad the drone is easily fixable. I fret every time Mr GST puts our drone up!
I still can’t believe that someone put that tree there….
@@scotlandonashoestring lmao, damn town planners! ;)
The "big pink trumpety plants" are called Naked Ladies.
My mom was pointing some out to my husband on a recent visit, and his response was that they were pretty but a bit disappointing.
We can’t call them that, we’d get into trouble with RUclips 🤣
Another cracking video both. You visited some things that I missed last year so I'm just going to have to go back too aren't I? Phew I winced and held my breath when the drone said how do to the tree.
There’s quite a lot to see, we love Bute. Although they are a bit careless with where they leave their trees.
So many things to see. Don’t know where to begin. Let us know what happened to the plate, where you put it. I Think I would have hung it on the wall. Glad your drone made it ok. Very lucky. Was a fantastic vlog.
Thank you. The plate is sitting in a table for now awaiting its permanent home :)
I really enjoyed this episode. I laughed so much. But learned along the way too. Dinero is so cute. Now I’m wondering. Is a dog getting the zoomies a Scottish expression? My Scottish husband uses the same terminology when our dog gets the zoomies. I’d never heard it before. I’m glad your drone survived. It would have been a sad day if it had been badly hurt. I look forward eagerly to your next installment.
I’d never heard of Zoomies until we started hearing about Greyhounds. It’s a term that just fits though :)
Such interesting places today. Thank you. Very intrigued at the churchyard monument you filmed as the surnames are my family name - could they have been ancestors? Going to have to delve a bit now !!! Happy travels
Ooh, let us know what you find!!
ALSO WORTH A VISIT WHILE YOU ARE THERE IS THE VICTORIAN RAILWAY STATION AT WEMYSS BAY.
Definitely, we've been there for a look before.
Hello Ian and Rebecca, can I have a shout out please
😊
Also I’m the first one to comment ❤🎉
Thank you for watching and commenting!
