Knowing the *reputation* of navies, this is why Colonial forces are on the mainland. It's where all the Ward women at.
lol! Love it!
“Eh they look female enough, come on lads!”
Imaginary love triangles again? 😁
@@ArminiusFH Who said anything about 'love'? I came here to fu-
idk tho every of his comments i saw seems always related to ward woman. is this mmo-meme ?
A week ago i thought that Wardens would lose in a few days but they are still holding on very well
Same! I thought this was going to be a shorter war than the last one! Very surprised with how it's turning out now! Keep up the good fight everyone!
No, Wardens are still losing, just when you look at the player numbers there are just not that many Collies playing either. One hex per day is all that either side can really push, if they are up against dry concrete.
WARDENS NEVER GIVE UP
@@GwiezdnePyrythat’s what i love about wardens
This game is something else, on my second day i was already in the heat of battle. Played as infantry and spent an entire day with a french guy fighting off the Wardens, entered a mortar team, launching explosives at day and flares at night, became a machine gunner of a heavy tank and later on i became the driver, participated in a suicide mission in a full bus with everybody singing and seconds later being obliterated. The game itself would be boring if it werent so social and fun, you are forced to talk and to help each other, thats whats so cool about this game. And i did all this with a average english, im from Brazil.Dont be afraid to jump to this game, every time you sit to play is a new experience with new people and different situations.
Thank you Robert, for playing this game. Love from Brazil. Sorry for the not so good english. Hope we can fight alongside some day, or against hahaha
As a Warden on the other side of this battle, it was an honor fighting you guys! I think you missed a bit of the landings on the smaller islands, we had an awesome 40min trench fight at Verge Wing island, wave after wave of Wardens landed and slowely worked our way through 3 layers of trenches. We ran out of grenades and other special weapons in that fight, otherwise I think we could have taken another island!
I did unfortunately because I couldn't find a boat to get over to them lol. I wish I could have been over there for that! GGs!
i think a actual ferry could be an amazing addition, one that can haul around multiple players in trucks, and heavy trucks aswell, or pontoon bridge equipment that doesnt just spawn one bridge as a whole over a river, but you gotta build it in parts so the enemy actually has a chance of stopping the construction of the pontoon bridge.
That would be great! I think we for sure need some middle tier option for transportation when hoping around from island to island. Thanks for your thoughts on this!
Thank you for covering the events in the isles this war.
11eRC-FL-CN wanted to spend what was looking like a break war at first to LARP in the islands and it's been refreshing so far :)
No problem! Glad I was around to check it out! I love to see it! Keep up the good work!
So love that a game with such a diverse game play, roles and economy has also created war reporting, love what you do Rob but love that a whole clan out there is dedicated to it. What an awesome game! 👍👍
Thank you! I do love me some good Foxhole battles :D
I took part of the invasion as a Warden, and honestly it's almost impossible to breach a fortified beach with the amount of defences you guys had lol.
Oh for sure! You see how many machine guns were firing down onto the beach? That beach is to short and to close to where we can build up defenses. I think the game needs more beach options and ones that are little further away from big concrete defenses can be made. GGs!
@@RobertLovesGames Yeah, there's little options for beach landings and every one of them is fortified. Most places have rocks and cliffs.
@@RobertLovesGames Also naval hexes aren't that popular atm since they got disconnected from the mainland. I understand why they did it, but it kinda lost its meaning from the mainland. I guess it's fine since they introduced new hexes, but still the naval hexes aren't that popular.
I was on the battleship and literally no one was communicating just people shooting for the most part, im pretty sure there was only a few guys that were actually talking and still they weren't in local and alot of new players spawned on there just because we were in collie territory, still fun tho.
Yea I've seen that happen quite a few times as well especially with longhooks when random players can spawn in. And just like you said always still a good time! GGs!
(Note 117 is my first war) Dude I was fighting for my life holding on the last island in tempest island and ever since I’ve been a fan of islands I’m all ways showing up when island stuff happens
Nice! Welcome to Foxhole! And that's awesome to hear! I need to head over to islands more often. I get tunnel visioned on the main land.
i think one of the reasons naval invasions are so difficult aswell as far and few between is because they REQUIRE metric F%* loads of resources, time, planning and organization to pull of with significant enough success to immediantly hold what they just captured. the allied invasion of normandy and italy, aswell as the battle of the somme in Gallipoli are proof enough that naval invasions are incredibly difficult to successfully do. but *when* they succeed, you effectively just created a second frontline that the enemy has to content with that not only threatens the established frontline, but also threatens the deeper heartlands of the nation that was just invaded. plus you need to continuously and constantly pour more men and resources into that beach head to keep the fight going and hopefully overwhelm the garrison established there before proper reinforcements arrive
and the 2nd reason i believe naval invasions are not common in foxhole is because . . . well the maps are primarily centered around land battles, not sea warfare or a mix of land and sea battles.
and considering how every war and throughout those wars theres internal civil war for resources, and players being, well, players . . . naval invasions are pretty difficult by that alone
I think another reason is dedicated players, with territory on islands mostly being stalemated somewhat due to little amounts of navy regiments/players and some islands being essentially core territory from the beginning of the war, said dedicated players, especially on frontlines or vulnerable islands, can build up complex, well built and interconnected defences to concrete, essentially turning the islands into floating fortresses. Still though, these reasons are very valid.
True! I think the devs need to scale it back a bit maybe? Or as some other people have suggested make the longhook and bluefin the same boat. That could possible help.
Those are all valid points. I personally just want the devs to work on something that helps them happen a little more often. Maybe cost of ships for longhooks or something needs to be changed. Or ques for getting people to join an invasion fight. I just think it needs some minor tweak but I'm not quite sure what. Thanks for your thoughts on this!
What a coincidence! I watched one of your invasion defense videos yesterday thinking "Wonder if he made more sea invasion videos". Lo and behold. lol
LOL! Perfect timing :D You willed it into existence!
naval invasions would be so cool if there wasnt a lag like im using 1990 internet connection
I didn't mention much lag in this encounter but yes lag can make this even worse!
i think lag would never be fixed in foxhole because the speed of light. You have Australians, Chinese, Americans, latin Americans, europeans people all over the world with 50, 100,300,550 ping or more playing together, there is no way around that. Only if foxhole grows in popularity like x1000 fold maybe you could have regional servers and multiple shards wars going on. Which I doubt it will ever happen.
So lag will never be fixed in foxhole and devs cant do anything about it
CSU Coalition was there to support 11e landing ! I was the Frigate turreted driver ;)
I was there on the warden side and I landed like twice on the giant beach on spearhead island with the giant concrete base. It was hell I did not like fighting onto it also pretty sure I heard myself in this video awesomeeeeee. ALSO FUNF FACT AT 9:15 the machinegun that opened fire right after he got after the beach WAS MEEEEEE i mowed down all of them but him he got away. Also this was my first naval invasion even though it didn't go to well for my side it was awesome and a ton of fun.
Very much agree on the fact that player should have some sort of usefullness while waiting in the Q. I used to glitch through the mountain on the west in order to climb it and end up on the roof of the two hangars. A secret passage maybe a very few people knew about (only saw 1 or 2 more people aware of this) buuuut now this passage is gone with the rework they did on the home island... what a shame, it was fun to go somewhere very very few have been
Oh cool, I indirectly got on your video! I was on the SCUM frigate (or was it BS, i forgot) during the first try. We got pushed back and I went to sleep. When I woke up I checked foxholestats and would you look at that, Spearhead is ours!
Remember this:
"Who controls the LARP controls the islands."
-Heinz Al Gaib
Nice! That's awesome to hear! Well done to the Warden navy this war! Now lets petition to the devs that they give every island hex victory points to make it really interesting :D
I remember that Boatlanding at 07:34
I was inside that landing boat.
1/5 Uberdriver Stars.
My regiment does a lot of naval invasions!
Nice! What regiment is that and what faction? Would love to join some time!
lemme guess... 11e
2:22 pretty sure a war crimes have a grenade that is pacifically made to make you bleed i’m not salty glory to Callahan glory to the warden Empire
lol! For Callahan! GGs!
Recently discovered your videos, I never heard if this game but it is imo the coollest game!
Nice! Love this game! DM me on discord if you have any questions or need help learning anything!
Watching these ops from Fisherman's Row as a Warden is hilarious cause of all the map posts that pop up + the aftermath when the big ships cross over after getting hit by a torp or 2 😂
i was in one of your clips, i was warden trying to land with landing craft, And You Saw me at 6:48 I was medic, and i could not land due to Collies being on the beach and i drowned in Sea. I was telling warden high command to shell that beach and that we needed gunboat support
Nice! Was a fun fight! GGs!
Having sandbags or cover that barges can deploy for infantry will make naval landings more feasible
That would be amazing! I would love that!
The biggest problem with navy is that the Moray Torpedo is too oppressive. I know that is meant to be strong deterrent for spamming battleships, but at its current balance one well crewed submarine can hit a battleship or longhook and the crew has NO OTHER CHOICE but to retreat. This means there is almost no counterplay if a lucky torpedo lands or, more realistically, the defenders overwhelm the attacking navy using pure submarines. Let's talk numbers: to fully crew a sub to hunt ships you need 8 players, to fully crew a destroyer/frigate to hunt subs you need 12. To fully crew a battleship you need 16. So let's say you want to attack a shore line, you need a battleship and a few frigates, that means at least 28 to 40 players to crew the ships. This removes infantry and support vehicles from your naval landing, less boots on the ground means less chance of holding that ground. Now lets switch to defenders: with 40 defenders we can send 4 submarines and scout boats. 4 subs can easily defeat a battleship and longhook which will immediately end the invasion, and even if the submarines sink themselves they still cost only a fraction of the price. So spamming submarines is the best defense against naval landings and bombardment.
The only way this can be improved is if the devs add some way to repair torpedo strikes during an attack so the large ships can stay in the hex. This isnt meant to fully repair the ship (so torpedo still does HP damage), but do a somewhat decent patch job. It's like a tank running over a landmine, the crew can repair and keep going. If a Battleship gets hit by a torpedo then 16 players now need to painfully struggle out of the hex and pray there are no border queues. Unfun, too risky.
I think that's the point. subs cant do much else well. especially the colonial sub. and they only hold 8 torpedos. the battleships are supposed to be protected by sub hunters and the destroyer. like battleships and aircraft carriers in real life
Those crew numbers for a frig or a battleship are pretty low, those are like skeleten crew levels of people
I haven't been on subs long enough to know if they need a balance but what you are saying makes sense to me. I liked Kronus old idea about ships not really having like a base health but instead focus more on the bucketing. If I am remembering that correctly. Thanks for your thoughts on this!
LQF, DEVIL clan were there on frigate) Good video
Changes needed to navel:
NOT TAKING 20 DAYS STRAIGHT OF GRINDING
Agreed!!
Thanks for covering this!!!
No problem! I'm glad I was on at the right time! I miss so many navy events because I'm normally at work or sleeping :D
The fact that they could barely even get out of the Landing boat is crazy
I downloaded the game yesterday and i fought with some people over a bridge for 2 hours it was a really good time i had. But we could not take the bridge.
Nice! Welcome to Foxhole! Bridge battles take a long time and I normally don't recommend players spend to long at them when they first start playing. Some bridge battles can last weeks with little movement. Feel free to DM me on discord and I can help you find some fun battles or answer any questions for you.
7:56 that was me in a proto HT with 2 friends fighting on Base Sagitta - We managed to repel and rebuild the relic :D
Nice! Great work! Was a fun invasion fight! GGs!
I bought this game cuz of the naval warfare and let me tell ya. The naval landings I’ve taken place in are the most fun moments I’ve ever had in foxhole
That's awesome to hear! Love that!
FOR CALLAHAN!
For Callahan!!!
6:50 "Im a medic. Dont kill me. "
Robert : ˇTakes out a pistol ˇ
lol! War crimes!
You mentioned how to make the troop transports better, I’d recommend a LPD or LHA those are the troop transports the US navy uses! Also great video!
I will check those out! And thank you!
The warden navy being more dominant makes more sense lore wise since the wardens before the war were a trading and merchant nation.
God I wish I knew what naval invasion of stema this was. I think it’s Tuesdays or Wednesdays attack. Thursdays attack was so much worse for the collies that one will need a video on its own
i was on a gunboat that spotted the invasion being prepped it was neat but i got to make a map post about it and i had a press person ask me questions
it was cool
That's awesome to hear! Well done on spotting the invasion before it happened! That probably helped us prepare and defend the island!
Dry docks should be able to make landing ships, gunboats and aquatippers, also they should make gunboats have a limited crew cabin as to make it harder to de-crew them, make them have an onboard radio with limited radius similar to that of a watchtower.
All of these are great ideas! Love it! Hopefully we can see some changes to navy stuff with this next major update. Thanks for sharing that!
dry docks are almost in perpetual use by big ships. we need them as clear as possible. often big ships limp home, sometimes taking on water from holes cant cant be fixed. meaning the crew has to bucket water non-stop until they make it to the dock. there's already regular docs all over the map. leave the dry docks to the big ships
@@rickson50 I’ve noticed that, but there are times when they are not like you mentioned, to alleviate that issue we could implement dry docks for the sake of repair, building of smaller boats and others for larger boats, from my understanding the power supply is the hold back for some.
@@SirNeil2579 are you saying make two different types of dry docks? Like how we have small pads and large ones?
I don't understand why. We already have shipyards. Just add to the list of what you can make at them
@@rickson50 no, players dedicate a dry dock to repairs and small boat building only and another to large boat building and emergency repairs.
The idea is we can build landing ships, gunboats and aquatippers anywhere while being able to repair them like garages.
Funny thing I was on the frigate the first time, second time we tried to push I was first to die somehow but it was just another death in foxhole
Nice! It was a fun fight! GGs!
Yeah, 11e rule the wave.
Woo!!
who
Lmaooo that one dude under the barge apparel😂
lol!
There are actually quite a few vehicle variations for transporting troops across water, but a lot of them were introduced to the game before the naval update, which mainly brought us the large ships. So, what really needs to happen is an update to rebalance these earlyer watercraft vehicles to better fit into the new naval situation in the game. The devs should look at things like, use cases for transportation of infantry/ vehicles/ logistics, cost and method to build and possible weapon or armour upgrades.
would love to see you're reaction on the finguer landing and fight
I wish I could have joined that fight! We were having our 3rd kid while it was happening :D maybe next time!
WOW already almost a YEAR since my first log in during the Naval update, crazy times
Man I'm dying for amphibious armored vehicles
That would honestly be awesome! Would love that as well!
I bought the game around a week ago and the entire time ive been fighting in stonecradle where we push them to the last sector then they push back and take major ground before we push them back. Its been exaushting lol 😂
That's awesome to hear! Welcome to Foxhole! Stonecradle is one of the hexes I first started playing in as well long ago. And keep up the good fight! You can out last them :D
i love this videos ! I do not play Foxhole but i been testing Anvil and i rylly like it . Hope you gonna play Anvil when come out and give us amazing videos to watch !
Thank you! And I plan on playing Anvil a lot and hopefully making videos like these :D
They gotta change how the costal gun works bc seeing it inactive when a whole ass frigate comes to shore feels so silly. Hell, I’d trade it’s response to small boats to targeting large ships only or make it’s attack range for large ships a small enough range that they have to bombard if from range.
A shared sentiment in my regi seams to be: islands have to be worth it.
a defended island is dimply not wirth the cost of taking it. They're incredibly hard to defend from large ships, and lands are also really difficult to pull off. For what you gain it's simply not worth the effort.
Would be a blast being a war reporter haha
lol! I see what you did there. And as a dad I approve of the bad pun :D
These sort of engagements just have requirements that mainland fights do not. You cant spawn and just leg it to the front, every soldier and supply has to be delivered by ferry. Logi has a lot more to do to set an island up the bomb.
True! Good point! I won't pretend to know everything or the right answers of course. Just a thought I had while I was playing :D
Thanks for your thoughts on this!
All the aspects that are needed to make a naval invasion happen are difficult to manage with current pop limits. A Frig/DD is needed for sonar + Longhook crew. This puts pop at a disadvantage on land to start, and it's always hard to get a hold anyways.
Add a BS shelling to this mix , that's 1/2 of the hex of pop off shore and not invading.
I agree with this. I actually talked about it in another video a long time ago when navy first came out. The que system in this game makes naval landings a little lackluster most of the time. And like you mentioned it just takes a lot of coordination between a lot of different boats. I hope one day to see some more things added to make naval invasions a little better. Thanks for your thoughts on this!
2:45 dargon na may tatong_____.
HAHAHAHA
lol I didn't notice that! XD
What is your favourite battle in foxhole Robert?
Wow that's a tough one. The Baths of course was a really fun one in war 106. I also liked Barronhome in war 110, and Foundry battle for war 111. Those are the ones I think I liked the most off the top of my head. Thanks for the great question!
Also wanted to say first but realised I have a life
Fair enough. Now you are second only to yourself :D
Well hello there
Hello there!
barges need to hold waaay more infantry
Agreed!!
Warden and warcrime, name a better duo.
lol!
i think they should allow players to spawn on the barges and give them a chance to push. Also submarines and destroyers should be developed first so many players would get involved into the war of attrition over who controls the seas. Also when warden landed, why they didn't not bomb the shit ouf of the beach ? There should be no defenders left if the proper battleships would constantly bomb the defenders in first line. Having the threat of been sunk by submarines would force players to build proper escorts to help their fleets and transports.
This has nothing to do with the video, but I think it would be cool if the devs made the uniforms have tiers and the tier effects the protection the uniform gives. Like maybe a tier 3 uniform can stack more ammo than tier 1. In reality I just want to see the battle field evolve from tier 1 uniforms with caps to tier 3 uniforms with steal helmets aesthetically like what happened in the first world war. Also, what does the sound mod do exactly.
That could be cool! I think changing uniform mechanics around could be a good way to alter the infantry battlefield.
The sound mod just changes how some things in the game sound. Mainly guns, tanks and artillery. Let me know if you have any other questions about it!
This game is new to me but I have to ask this:
03:32 Why is nobody using that anti-naval gun on the left?
Hello! Welcome to Foxhole! That is a costal gun that is AI. No players can get in it unfortunately. That would be pretty cool if we could do something like that. They recently tweaked how coastal guns operate and I'm going to be honest I still don't know when they are now allowed to fire. I just assume they are basically all offline all the time now.
Feel free to DM me on discord if you have any other questions about Foxhole or if you need anything else.
My problem isn't the naval invasion itself as i find them fun on both sides. Its the fact that its almost impossible to protect against attack once you take an island since ya need to regain conc/howi tech, if there was even some tier 2 anti ship tech to protect from a few gunboats coming and destroying all your hard work it would be nice but until then I just don't feel its ever really worth going too hard into a naval assault on islands.
Islands need naval protection while they're building up. It's worth it if the island becomes well secured in the end.
@@aarondanaher9426 ya need 2 bunker cores teching conc and howi each for several days to secure it from gunboats... the time it takes 3 gunboats to dehusk a tier 2 bunker core is what 5 minutes maybe meaning that if ya aren't on that island/no one QRF repairs your aren't going to be having a core for long never mind if a Frigate/DD drives past and nukes it on the way past so basically from what ive found if you don't have Cores down teching day one on an island your not getting an island secured never mind rebuilding it.
Was this the one today, yesterday, two days ago, 3 days ago, or last week
This was 3 days ago I believe. This last Saturday.
There has been 3 naval landing in the last 5 days in stema
idk how it would be done but i think something needs to be done to keep players from camping on the beach during naval landings, just kinda makes things too one sided and doesnt feel right having the defenders rush the beach to defend
Hey, did you check out soundpack from sev on the foxhole nexusmods yet? I think it sounds better than the super uber fantastical foxhole sound mod and its updated.
I have not! Any specific sounds you like better? I will have to check it out! Thanks for letting me know.
@@RobertLovesGames distant warfare sounds, also i like the fact that there is no footsteps sounds included as it was kinda distracting in the uber fantastical mod
10:28 suggestion:
every 5 or so wars, the map gets replaced or altered, with it having new hexes where theres very large large islands or just tons of small islands.
To accommodate for those players that dont like naval playstyle but more of land fighting, the middle area of the map is still mainly land, but is more of 2 large central islands that has a hex or 2 wide or so large crossing space in between, with more smaller crossing areas and bridges connecting too. even make the area seperating the land masses have small islands in between them just for the lols
i dont play foxhole myself, but i like to watch it so im not sure if this itself is even a good suggestion that others would agree with.
also, depends if the devs even want to make a whole new map just to make naval invasions more frequent.
Good on the wardens for trying, but to be honest this video just shows the current state of the game - Colonials have so many players and so many resources that they have little better to do than make fortress islands and un-fun one sided slaughter battles. It might be fun for Green, but there is a reason there are videos on the Warden team going on strike.
I appreciate that the Wardens did this as well. Some people from the Warden group reached out to me and said they had a blast doing it. I know losing every war sucks right now and some people get frustrated with it but there are so many fun things to do in the game even if you are losing. Trust me the pendulum will shift soon and Wardens will be back on top.
We have Landing craft, yes, those small square ships that can hold a lot of troops or even a tank. Those are good, yes. But to take a few notes out of the allied landing on D-Day's book...
Landing SHIPS, that can carry multiple tanks for instance? (Just checked and Landing SHIPS does exist, It just doesn't carry any tanks.) Idk. Honestly, when it comes to shore-landings such as D-Day, the main take is literally numbers and resources. Constant shell bombardment, weaken up defenses and break coastal guns, etc. And try and make it as easy as possible for soldiers to storm the beach, and honestly? When a defense is as monstrous and massive as the one on the eastern shore of that island in this video? You'd need like, multiple battleships, longhooks and a literal metric fuck-ton of landing craft and probably hundreds of players to even have a chance at succeeding in taking that beach.
Exactly! I'm actually surprised they tried to land there and not where they were shelling at the start of the video. I feel like they would have had better luck landing there. Landing operations take a lot of coordination. I want to just see the devs make some tools or in game mechanics to make it little easier for groups to get together to have them happen a bit more frequently. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this!
That was because they refused to listen op commanders orders and landed in the most heavily fortified island in game causing a week of planing to be for nothing
I wish there was a mod to totally overhaul the VFX, explosions, gunfire and make it realistic. That is probably my biggest complaint about the game. The VFX just seem... low quality?
You mean like this? magnavox777.itch.io/super-uber-fantastical-foxhole-sound-mod
Or even better than that mod?
Another invasion happened today lll
Nice! I was probably at work and missed it lol. Where did it happen?
@@RobertLovesGames I wasn’t there sadly was going logi one of my buddys tried to join but got in when the ship he spawned on was retreating
@@RobertLovesGames i think there was more then one landing as they captured a few islands in stemas landing

Maybe some day! The devs have hinted at it!
Oh god no 😂
Be on at the right time... or you know...OR JOIN A DAMN CLAN?!
Even if you are in a clan you still have to be on at the right time. Some of us have work and families. I get people that message me specifically about operations and I can't join 80% of them because I have things going on. But yes I'm sure joining a clan would help a little bit. Thanks for your feedback with this.
@@RobertLovesGames I'm not sure why you implied anything about IRL commitments that's something completely different.
You can play the game on your own and by pure chance find yourself lucky to be in a naval landing or you can join a clan and know when and where to show up, help prepare it for several days beforehand and actually know the plan.
