@@diycosmeticawill do. I just got a digital ph meter. Also will be trying this for deodorant. It turns out you can use a 3.5 ph serum as deodorant because it’s inhospitable to bacteria that causes smell. I hope that’s ok for formula o go a bit lower ph…
A deodorant with a pH of 3.5 makes the skin more acidic, which makes it harder for odor-causing bacteria like Corynebacterium to grow. These bacteria usually prefer a pH closer to neutral (around 5.5-7), so lowering the pH can help control body odor. However, the armpit skin is pretty sensitive, and a pH of 3.5 might cause irritation for some people, like redness or discomfort. Always do a patch test before applying all over the armpit’s skin.
@@diycosmetica that makes sense. I did have some of Moon Juice’s “acid potion” which measured at 3.5. I sprinkled 1% sepimax zen on it and made it thicker so I could apply it. I haven’t had any odor since!!! And no sensitivities but I’ll keep using it and see longer term what happens.
I can only guess you used some ingredients that together result in a soapy effect. It all depends on the emulsifier , co-emulsifier and the emollients you use (and the percentages). Always when you make a new product make a small amount and test to see if you get the result you aimed for.
If you want “natural” ester- coco caprylate is an excellent choice (it derives from coconut oil and caprylic acid). I already answered you regarding no heat emulsion under a different video- you can use sucrose stearate or lecithin for a cold process emulsion. When using sucrose stearate or lecithin you need to add a gum to have a stable emulsion. If you want to learn more about the basics of making creams or lotions you have it on this post: diycosmetica.com/how-to-make-a-basic-lotion-cream You will have to try with the ingredients you have and test different formulas.
Oh my goodness! Boy I’m I excited about this formulation!! I love how it looks and I’m sure it feels amazing.
Thanks 😊 I hope you’ll make it!
I want 10 glycolic acid with 1% salicylic acid lotion....is there any recipe?
I’m excited too!! It’s like you read my mind. I was about to make your glycolic foaming wash, but this is actually what I wanted 🙏
It’s much stronger than the foaming one. Let me know if you use it and if you see improvement after 28 days of using it.
