“One ring to rule them all, one ring to find them, One ring to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them; In the Land of Mordor where the shadows lie.” Sauron, the Dark Lord, all the way
My friend has had a Myr commander deck for at least a decade. And it was good, but then I bought Urtet for him since he didn't know about it. Holy shit did it send his deck into the stratosphere, such a sweet deck build. I love seeing decks that have been around and upgraded for years an years
Shalai and Hallar is really good and easy to combo with but what's your opinion on running it without the OP combo pieces like Heliod, Red Terror, War Elemental, etc?
Always a amazing great go to channel to find great magic content and deck tips I appreciate all the work you put into these I hope one day to make a channel doing stuff similiar with openings too, you help me love my hobby thank you.
Dont play any of those Commander's and in a way that makes me happy, cuz I dont like playing Commander's everyone else . But I for sure thought Axonil would be on that list. He is a beast
I've been having a great time with Calix, Guided by Fate. It can bring the heat as a volltron or aura heavy. It's also fun to have an enchantress deck that is not Sythis.
@@supremecourt4131 the card advantage and cost of Sythis is so good that it is probably more powerful but nothing I do in Sythis feels as cool as making a ton of token copies of a Smothering Tithe or Mirari's Wake or Sigil of the Empty Throne or any other number of sweet enchantments
What are your thoughts on running stuff like doubling season, primal vigor, parallel lives, etc...in the deck? They've got such sheer dumb synergy with Calix's effect (more token copies, more counters, or both). The drawback, of course, being that they aren't auras themselves.
@@violeth2255 I have mine built as heavy auras for evasion, draw synergy with other creatures/auras, and protection for Calix through aura/a few instant speed effects. I run Parallel Lives and Annointed Procession because they are enchantments and just too silly if you can pull it off and a few other big payoff non-aura enchantments. Playing a Teferi's Pro, Clever Concealment, and Heroic Intervention for emergency board wipe/enchantment protection too because a well-timed enchantment wipe can be devastating of course. If you can even copy a few auras/other enchantments it can be extremely hard to deal with since enchantments are the stickiest type of permanent besides lands.
My Omnath locus of all deck has 33+ three mana pip cards so the deck is my version of playing slots in a magic the gathering game and when i hit the jackpot i cast the most uncastable cards in magic theres not a better feeling
Dude are you edging up on burn out? I feel like I hear you say the same thing over and over. Its all great, I love your content... but there is no way you are having fun saying the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over.....
@davidpolston2751 unless you proxy OG duels, making a consistent mana base is gonna be super expensive. Cracking realmbreaker takes a bit of planning. You got to do it that turn otherwise the whole pod is gonna gang up on you instantly. Omnath's mana storage will help alot with one turn realmbreaker pops. Usually when I crack realmbreaker it's like having exodia in yugioh. The whole pod scoops because dealing with 12 preators is too much. If they don't scoop then I usually win by using saga Jin-Gitaxis. If you can flip him with vorinclex monstrous raider out you get two lore counters. Chapter 1 draws a bunch of cards an chapter 2 bounces all non phrexians an clears the board for you. If you have atraxa out you can proliferate into chapter an get the omniscience trigger
My #1 was Ojer Axonil. I built around it right away, and any game that deck plays Ojer is instant target from all the other players. They learnt after 1 game that oh hey, maybe taking a bunch of "1 damage" ping isn't such a great idea.
I also think Eminence is a big mistake, both mechanic-wise and flavour-wise, and they could have made it work. Mechanic wise, they could have made it so that the player would have to pay mana or other resources to get the value instead of totally free, or they could have implemented means for other players to at least interact with it. And for flavour or designing wise, they should have only put this type of ability on commanders that are strategist type or "the guy behind the curtain" type, who typically don't directly go on the battlefield. A commander should not be great both on the frontline and on backstage. (I do realise such type of war commanders existed in real life in history, but in a competitive game ,it should no exist for balancing reason)
I mean, I think lore wise it works really well for the Ur Dragon, given that it spawns dragons just by flapping its wings and has been doing so since the dawn of time across the multiverse. The one snag with it lorewise is that it also applies its benefits to changelings.
@@violeth2255 Yeah, that makes sense. But what I'm trying to say is they could have done it better and smarter, however, the end product just feels like lazy designing or money grabbing.
EDHREC is slightly flawed when it comes to precon commanders. More obtuse commanders usually get really cool and interesting synergistic cards that you wouldn't think to try showing as their includes while precon ones are so bloated with copy and paste decks that nothing new or inspiring shows up.

Yeah he's good. That ward cost basically gives him hexproof.
I love my sauron nazgul Deck!
Pantlaza, called 'Pant Laser, Sun Flavored' by my friends is my pick of the year.

Saw Sauron in the thumbnail and already insta liked
Hey, hope everyone has a good day! Also great video as always!
Mitch, how do you feel about Oloro, the original eminence commander from before eminence was even conceived?
Just built a Oloro deck and I have a ton of fun with it! Might be my favorite commander.
I made a Sauron deck. I need to keep working on it to make it better
My Personal commander this year is hylda ... love to play her
Love all your takes
Shalai and Hallar is really good and easy to combo with but what's your opinion on running it without the OP combo pieces like Heliod, Red Terror, War Elemental, etc?
Selfless Squire - “ you did it to yourself “
you should not have informed me that this card existed, its going in the deck now
23:25 I am going to be building a Myr/Artifact/Vehicle deck that deals with tokens with this commander
One of my favorite decks is Sauron. My army never gets that big, but my damage goes brrrr.

Yeah take care of yourself if you feel burnout, Take a break if you need to.
I don't even know why worrying this time it made me not watch the video

For what it's worth, Frodo is Sam's employer/landlord.

Wait Aragon the uniter had 2 spot in this list I’m confused
?
Eminence would be an ok ability if there were drawbacks, but if its all benefit, i agree, kinda a dumb ability
I will enjoy now sitting down at tables with my Edgar deck and stating "I get free value, hahaha"
Lots of the Nazgul 😤
Changling is NOT a creature type. It is an ability. Shapeshifter IS a creature type, but not ALL shapeshifters have the changling ability.
aha
Yay for me I didn't have a commander on this list, like the other sheep muahahah
Your life must suck renaming and refilming basically the same video over and over every day
For the love of God please stop talking so fast.
