The Challenger Series contenders are back on the famed shores of Sydney’s Northern Beaches and already flaring in tough, opening day conditions. North America’s next wave took control with Kirra Pinkerton posting the day’s only excellent number alongside powerful showings from Levi Slawson and Owen Moss. But, Australia’s own Axel Curotta joins proven threats Hiroto Ohhara, Luel Felipe, and more looking to surge up the rankings. Former CT veteran Nikki Van Dijk also found her form and joins the likes of Ariane Ochoa, Yolanda Hopkins, Tessa Thyssen, Sierra Kerr, and other in-form women on the hunt for a big result to kickstart their CT qualification hopes. Now, top seeds are ready and waiting for these opening day standouts with plenty of swell on the horizon to test those capable of delivering performances on the iconic sands of Narrabeen.
