Many people around me passed away during these corona times, including my grandma..so this kinda made me think of them and made me cry and smile at the same time.. i miss them. Beautifully played btw I admire your passion
Wow, thank you so much for this comment. It’s always amazing to me how a single piece of music can bring out such complex emotions in us. It can play such an important part in our healing process and I’m so glad that this video helped you in that way. This is really what it’s all about. I’m sorry to hear about your grandma. I also lost my dad this year from an illness he had been batting for years. He was a violinist and really passed a lot of that musical passion on to me. I think about him every time I pick up the cello. Sending you love during this difficult time and good wishes for a better 2021.
Honestly the arrangement itself was the most time consuming part, which I did a couple of years ago. The recording and editing I worked on over the course of a couple of weeks.
Great question! It’s hard to tell from the camera angle, but I always leave my left ear slightly exposed so I can hear myself. That with hearing myself through the playback makes it comfortable enough. But there are occasions in live amplified shows where it’s impossible to hear myself in the room, so I have to rely on a good mix in my headphones. It isn’t always ideal, so I just have to rely on my training and experience at that point.
I did the arrangement a couple of years ago and spent quite a bit of time on it. For the video I worked on it over the course of a couple weeks. I’m trying to discipline myself to not try to complete a project all at once, but rather set a deadline and spread the work out doing an hour or two each day as necessary. It’s better for my mind, my posture, and my creativity!
I am addicted to watching this.
Haha thanks!!

Very beautifull and it looks like a lot of work! Maybe you could try to do a cover of half tourism from the offsprings, cheers!
Ooh Offspring! Haven’t listened to them since high school! Thanks for the suggestion!

Amazing work! You can tell that a lot of time and love went into this. Nice job! Transition at 4:50 is epic
Thank you! Definitely took some time, but finally learning how to pace myself so I don’t lose my sanity.
Firee!!
Thank you!
❤️
How. Can you hear realistically what's coming from your fingers on now hair and strings with head phones on both ears?

Tried Villa Lobos celli? Brazilia?
Not in this digital format, but I’ve played the piece many times before! I may have to do a RUclips version…
A David Bowie arrangement would be awesome!
OMG YES!! 🙌🙌
Hey Zack! Bravo! How long did it take to do this?

I think some pink floyd or David Bowie would sound good
Oh yea! I had actually thought about doing “Hey You” awhile back and then kinda forgot about it. I think that would be gorgeous on cello.
