    Thank you! Trying to get gauzy-looking medical tape off. After nearly tearing the skin on my breast, then soaking the tape with vitamin E oil (safer, but still damaged skin), I looked up how to remove medical tape and your video looked the most promising.
    I had already tried your main two suggestions (they helped with the oil-soaked tape), but the rubbing alcohol was the winner! What a relief!
    I soaked a piece of gauze in alcohol, used it to soak the tape, then wet the gauze with alcohol again and brushed the edges of the tape back with it…and the tape rolled back easily! No additional damaged skin.
    Now I get to call the nurse at the clinic and admonish her to tell us how to get the tape off before they tape us up with it. 😆

    I use baby oil. I'd rheumatologist taught me to use baby oil to remove Band-Aids easily. I saturated the top of the tape with a cotton ball and baby oil, then put it underneath the table where the adhesive meets the skin and rub back off of the skin. It wasn't fun and took some time but was much easier in my skin.

    Just So You Know, I had 3 strips on my lower back, tried all of your suggested methods....they all pretty much hurt the whole time.
    I did one and was about to give up for the day when I remembered you saying heat activates the glue.
    So I tried warm water and the second 2 came off quickly and painlessly. JSYK 👍

      oil massage the area first. Starting cold. It'll warm up on its own. Actually that's the only step. Magic ✨

    Oh yeah, oil! I use coconut oil with a splash of essential oil that I already make consistently. And when removing the tape, I massage the area with oil first. Helping soothe and ease the pain, whilst (first) gently lifting up the edges of the tape, and eventually the whole strip comes up flawlessly. Like if one ever tries to apply this tape to the palm. They need the adhesive spray because it's the oil in our skin/sweat that actually unbinds the adhesive. Which The palms will produce more of in defense of the now new airflow obstruction to the skin. So naturally, pretty much any oil will work. Except motor or lamp oil. Please never use motor or lamp oil to remove KT tape. Unless you're a car... Or a genie.... Hmm 🤔... Side note. I wonder, if I accidentally scratch my car, I think using black KT tape would look a lot better to cover the scratch temporarily until I can repair it. It's still just tape 🤷🏽‍♂️ and I LOVE to use KT tape for temporary maintenance because this tape is so friggin pleasing to the eye, always improving the aesthetics of any temporary repair (and adding protection from the elements.... and me). Or I'll just lay some down to add friction for grip on handles or particular areas that I have trouble gaining traction with any kind of shoe. Almost always temporary. My house isn't covered with KT tape 😄 Okay I'm done 😁

Either way, your video was fantastic 👌 Thank you for taking the time to teach us with your free content❣️ I learned something today (SUPER helpful too). You rock🤘. Keep up the hard work. What about oil?

    • @DharmaGirl61
      @DharmaGirl61 2 года назад

      Read my reply above, yes vegetable or mineral oil, saturate the area, leave for 30 minutes or so, NO warm or hot showers for 48 hours for those of us very sensitive. Vitamin E and aloe vera can help if there is discomfort, but no blistering and such. Go slow... Read a book, play a game on your phone, whatever it takes to not go too quickly.

      Yes, taking off tape can be pretty uncomfy! Especially in areas where our skin is more thin or sensitive.

    • @DharmaGirl61
      @DharmaGirl61 2 года назад +2

      Using vegetable or mineral oil, saturating the area, using cool to lukewarm water with baby shampoo to get the tape wet, and yes, going with the hair growth, not against it, very slowly, works best. NOTE: Let the oil or water with soap sit for a bit, 20-30 minutes, so it's very saturated down to the skin under the tape. Lots of people use KT for days, not hours, so it's stuck like a second skin and needs to be loosened with these methods. Wait to shower afterward for a day, and no hot showers for longer than that. Use aloe vera gel and vitamin E, tips of the finger, slowly, gently, over the area, and do NOT tape that particular area for 48-hours. That's my advice, anyway.

      @@DharmaGirl61omg thank you! I have two strips on my entire back on either side of my spine. Not gonna lie, I'm a bit fearful 😮

    • @DharmaGirl61
      @DharmaGirl61 8 месяцев назад

      @@TheRandomINFJI was fearful too when I started using the tape. I could find plenty of youtube and other media for how to put it on, but zero on how to take it off. I'm over 60, so image the tape burns I've had--and a few small scars that won't go away. If you are at all sensitive to bandaids, or just sensitive period, let this be your test, and get someone to follow the directions I shared. As more than a side note, I'm an INFP who often typed INFJ. Nice to meet you. I'd appreciate it very much if you let me know how it goes, and if you run into trouble, STOP trying to remove any more of the tape, "cut off" where you finished, and shoot me a message here. The other good thing to do, even if it goes well, is to write down what you used: Kind of KTape, cleaning beforehand (I use Soft Soap, gently clean the area, wipe off with white vinegar on a soft cloth, apply 92% isopropyl alcohol, and take my time, round the edges of the tape, use 2-inch "anchors" at each end, and make notes (or used to, when I was learning) on what went right, what needed improvement. Good luck, and I hope to hear back from you. It is scary, our skin is, as you know, the largest organ of our body, so we need to treat it with care. 🙂
