If you replacing the stereo with a factory radio, after connecting the connectors to the replacement stereo, is there anything that needs to be done before reassembling the panels?
Jesus, I didn’t think to get the radio out I’d have to dismantle every damn thing around it. With my luck, I’d end up destroying the shift and A/C. I guess I’ll just continue to live without a CD player.
Popping the shift bezel loose DOES give you enough room to take the climate controls away, however, make sure you have a magnet handy for those two screws, they'll drop given half a chance.
Its easy you just do the opposite of what you did to remove the gear shift. You slide the shift back in and insert the pin and make sure it clicks and your are set once you slide the thingy on the shift up .
no need to remove the shifter, pull the e-brake and put the shifter into 1st gear, gives plenty of room for access to pop off the a/c panel.
Nice thank you! Had no idea how to do this

Splendid! I'll recreate this right now on my dad's Nissan

Could I possibly fit like a 6’’ after market touchscreen without having to cut anything?
might not need to take the whole shifter apart. just popping it loose should give the other bezel enough space to move out of the way.

Thanks so much for sharing the knowledge! Now I have to go do the same job...
When you put back the shift knob how do you put the pin back in is it hard to do or easy to put together
