Thanks Tim, Really interesting 👍 It's not just the charts that are special.... The entire programme is! It's great 😃 I love tuning in. Thanks again, have a great weekend 🤠
Oh a comment on your pronunciation of our Canadian regions… good job Tim. I forgot to comment a few weeks ago but you got a few tough one very well done sir.
Thanks, if that was about Quesnel we were up in that area some years ago... one of us got a no passing zone ticket out of Fort St John too (paid it), it was a slow logging truck.
Dolores CO: we finally got some really nice saturating rains in August. Two episodes yielded >2"" each...Tallest grass I have seen in years. Saw River Otters in the ponds along the West Fork of Dolores!
Ah, Dolores, we passed through there in May 2019 driving from Dove Creek to Clayton. Was interesting seeing farm country in the Four Corners area once we started down Hwy 184. Nice area, all of Colorado is great.
Tucson: Roller coaster with monsoon, rainfall wildly variable over space. In Catalina foot hills, we have only had just over 3.5 inches for season. BTW, had your books out at same time you threw up those enticing graphics for more teaching to come! Forgot to mention that it is strange that # lighting strikes om monsoon summary page shows this season to be ridiculously low
Thanks, Tim. Is the cyclonic circulation off the southeastern Texas coast a cold-core system right now? I couldn't tell from the 850, 700, or 500 Mb charts.
Yes... would be great to have clear skies in the summer. This Canada / Northwest wildfire smoke in late summer has become a bit of a recurring problem.
Almost certainly a wettest & cooler half to August w 2-3” of rain cold enough to bring snow to lower elevations as also occurred at Mammoth mountain California and Shasta mountain. Thankfully we’re right back into late summer weather w a large H giving us dry easterly wind and summer like conditions prevail for the last week summer vaycay for schools returning next week after Labour Day…🐞
Thank you, Tim! Have a relaxing weekend!!
Appreciate it!

He is a consummate student of geography!

Envious here in ID!

Appreciate that update! Glad you're enjoying the books.
Oddly mild day today in OKC, feels already like state fair weather here
I appreciate that report. I remember we used to go to the Oklahoma State Fair in the 2000s, yeah getting to be near that time.

To be honest I'm not sure what stage it was at the time of the chart, that was 3 days ago, but I'll see if we can break it down better for next time.
Here in central ID, much of the summer, we have had much smoke from Canada and California. Hot and dry. We now are plagued with our own smoke!
Hopefully there is some improvement this month. Thanks for the report!
I'm very happy to see the wildfire smoke clear out of the great lakes!
