I completely disagree with you. You say by yourself, that even with Voltron, Europaparks coaster line-up is pretty weak considering the size of the park. You als say that Phantasialands theming is better. In my opinion Phantasialand is MILES ahead of Europapark. The attractions Phantasialand has are mostly world class unique rides, something you cannot get everywhere else. Taron, FLY, Talocan, River Quest, Chiapas and Mystery Castle are ALL the finest of their typs. Europapark can simply not hold on to that in any way. They have very many rides, but not a single very good one. Voltron rattles a lot and that ever since the opening. Its absolutely not ok for the best theme park to open a ride like that and to do nothing about it even months after opening. That is a big no go. Silver Star and Blue Fire are also very weak coasters when you compare them to others of their type. The theming at Europapark is good, but its not even close to what Phantasialand does. Phantasialand has not opened a ride that was absolutely perfect at its opening. You really have to stay there objective and there is no way how not to give that credit to Phantasialand. Also the operations are not perfect at Europapark. They are very good when there are a lot of people, but they get worse during the week and when there are no many people in the park. Europapark tends to operate their coasters with only 1 train, especially Wodan what leads to bad waiting times even when the park is empty. It is also very bad that you cannot choose your seat at Wodan. That should simply not be at a coaster where its such a big difference where to ride.
For me its very clear: Phantasialand > Europapark

As someone who is lucky enough to have Europa Park as his Home Park it's so lucky and I am so thankful for it. For me it's not a Home Park as weird as it sounds, it is my 2nd Home. I go there at least once every month and I just feel so good at this park. It's just a place where I feel so good every time I am there.
As the cringy poster in my actual home says ''Home is not a place, it's a feeling.'' Corny I know but Europapark is literally just that. It is a place that just feels like Home. One reason is just I love being there and the second reason being, I quite literally grew up with this Park. We would go there every year since I have memories and it's the reason I am a coaster enthusiast today.
It does everything right, Great Rides, Awesome Theming, amazing Staff, good food. Now with Rulantica and Voltron it just got so much better and it will only get better in the future.

Great Video! I can agree on most of your points. The Park ist beautiful and it's amazing how great their operations are, allowing Queuetimes to be somewhat fine even in the Holiday season. Also the attraction lineup is basically endless and has great quality coasters, darkrides and water rides. Its one of the only parks you can visit for three days and still have new Rides to do.
That beeing said, it's not my favourite park in europe. For me - eftelings atmosphere is unmatched. I would say they are on par theming wise, but i think efteling is more beautiful simply because it's not as crammed as europapark. I love how you have multiple areas without Major Rides, which are purely dedicated to landscaping and theming (like the fairytale Forrest for example), giving the park a chilled vibe no other park can match in my opinion. It's also hands down the park with the best Soundtracks, adding to the magical atmosphere.
By the way, one major critique for Europapark is the sponsoring on to many rides, which is so annoying and out of place it honestly ridiculous, pulling you out of the immersion on some rides (Voletarium beeing the worst). Also i don't get how they can have such a great overall Park concept, yet still deciding to add random IP based attractions like Arthur, which don't fit in the park at all.
To avoid confusion, these are nit picks for sure. I absolutely love this park, it's just not the best in europe in my opinion.

What is often forgotten, are the shows. Europa Park does not just do any little shows - ok yes, there are some Meet Euromaus and stuff - but the big shows need attention. Because usually you would pay a considerable sum of money to see a show of that quality, and in Europa Park, it is just included in the park ticket. I remember the Chinese National acrobatic team doing a show on the stage in Piraten of Batavia. I remember some world-class ice skaters participating in the show, after the same contest has been held before in the Europa Park ice skating arena. And the Varieté show in Italy is always a view, with dancing, acrobatics, magic and comedy.
And the show places have a lot of theming as well! Go take a seat in the Varieté theater in Italy, there is an absolutely huge painting on the ceiling of the mythical Europa, and the whole building looks fantastic, the columns having decorations, it just continues there. It is a whole area about Europa Park, that somehow is often overlooked. Which is maybe understandable, if international audiences only have limited time to spend at Europa Park.

EP is my home park but my last visit was in 2019 so I plan to go there soon. Last year I visited Phantasialand for the first time and for me EP is the better one by far. I feel like people only talk about how great F.L.Y and Taron are and never mention the negatives. What I disliked the most is that everything is so cramped together. No matter where you are you're looking straight against walls and it's not unusual for the queue lines to just go through an ugly cage. Yes, the coaster surrounding you is cool but you also feel like a prisoner sometimes. As someone who is used to Wodan tier queue lines this is a bummer.
And the theming...isn't that great? There are no details to find, no hidden parts to explore. For me huge grey walls is not what I consider "best theming ever". Phantasialand looks nice and great and all that but something is missing. F.L.Y. looks absolutely amazing but it's only one part of the park. So for me EP outclasses Phantasialand's theming by a mile. Same for the coasters. I was only able to get a ride on Taron, F.L.Y. and Colorado because Black Mamba and Chiapas were closed. And I had no idea the others even existed lol. Maybe I'm getting old but the forces were a bit too much for me especially on Taron which I don't want to ride a 2nd time. Maybe I had a bad day but I've never felt like this before. People criticize EP for having a bad coaster line up because they're not that forceful in general...but that's what I prefere actually. I know that Taron and F.L.Y. are objectively really good especially if you like great forces but EP has better coasters FOR ME.
As a side note: You said if you go there and don't ride anything you'll still going to have a good time which is actually EP's goal. In the biography of Roland Mack it is described how they wanted to make sure that you can experience enough by just walking through the park so the whole family (young and old) can enjoy their time.

Europa Park is also the theme park with the most attractions, with over 100, worldwide.
Even every Disney park in America can't keep up in terms of the number of attractions. Magic Kingdom has just 41 attractions. That's even less than Disney Paris with 50.
Only all Disney World parks in America together have more attractions than Europa Park. That's a fact. But each one individually is far from Europa Park. Disney Land Paris can't keep up either. It doesn't even have half the number of attractions.
And by the way, Europa Park is not just the best park in Europe.

I love Europa Park to bits, so much so that I’ve been there three times in the last 12 months. But they have a huge problem: their customer service, and the way they deal with foreigners other than French people. Every time, or dare I say almost every day I spent there, I had unpleasant interactions with cast members there, at Rulantica and Rüst in general. I usually politely greet everyone in German to then ask “English?”. In the best situation they look annoyed af (they rarely don’t give miserable vibes) , at worst they reply rudely in German, something I unfortunately don’t understand. For a park of this magnitude I believe it’s absurd. And I’m Italian. Again that goes for the park, Rulantica (where I always get the Hyggedal pass, where one expects people to be extremely well mannered, and yet…) and with the local gastehaus. Sometime I have to write down stuff on google translate to make myself understood. It pains me to say this, but it’s affecting my experience so much that I’m not sure if I’d consider returning anytime soon. I don’t expect the Disneyland level of treatment, but come on….anybody else has had similar experience and feelings? How do you cope?

    @HoundZvsxEa 2 дня назад

First of all, this is highly subjective and eveyone is entiteled to their opionion. There is no right or wrong, only opinions. Here is mine:
Europe park has a lot of attractions, but most of them are either good or mediocre. There are almost no standouts for me.
The only really good Dark Ride i can think off is Piraten in Batavia and this is just a 1 to 1 copy of Disney with less charm. Snorre or Madame Freudenreich are filler attractions.
Water Rides are all quite forgettable to be honest. Tiroler Wildwasserbahn, Poseidon or Fjord Rafting are upon the weakest types i have been on.
Roller Coaster is a mixed bag aswell. Voltron is amazing when it runs smooth but others like Euro-Mir or Pegasus are either lackluster or terrible. All between those extremes are good (fe. Wodan) or mediocre (fe. Schweizer Bobbahn).
Flatrides are overall weak. The only decent ones are Vindjammer or the Mad hourse i dont even know the name anymore.
Theming: Its good but far from the very best. You mention switzerland and i agree that it is very nice and in my opinion the best section of the park when it comes to theming. Since we are talking "best of the best", i dont see how Europa can compete with Disneyland and certainly not Phantasiland. There, every section, even the weaker ones are better then Europa Parks best areas. I dont think this is an unpopular opinon.
Food and Drinks: To be honest, i have not been in to many restaurants, but those i have been were all okay. We tried out Greece, Italy and France and it was standard theme park food, not bad, but not amazing aswell. We also had burgers at the mainstreet (i think this was germany) and it was sub par. Prices were high, but that is expected at such a high level theme park.
Shows: I have only seen 1 indoor show and 1 outdoor stunt show. Both were good. The parade is fine aswell. Nothing to crazy but also not bad at all. We are not talking disney level, not even close but at least they have some interesting shows.
Hotels: I have not been on sight.
Conclusion: I enjoyed all my 6 visits so far, but i would be dishonest if i tell EP is the best in europe. It certainly has a lot of things going for it but for me, it simply lacks the overall quality. Of course the quantity is outstanding and i highly recommend every Theme park non-enthusiast since families will find tons of rides for every member to ride. If a non European Theme park enthusiast would ask me where to go, EP would not be my first recommendation.
Still a nice review and while i dont fully agree with your opinion, its great you love this park so much.

I agree 100%. Europapark lacks on Thrill, even with Voltron. Blue Fire and Silver Star are clearly family level. Wodan and Voltron dont offer enough Thrill for a park of that size. Every big theme park in Germany offers more thrill rides.

And overall experience neither.. The waiting times are longer even when the Park is not crowded because EP has the better operations and runs more trains on their coasters. And PL is usually also more crowded. And they're also not maintaining their coasters as well in PL

Especially with Voltron, I definitely prefer EP's coaster collection, and while overall experience is subjective, I find Europa Park's both more charming and impressive

@@user-ve7hn2dh8h EP has nothing Interesting. Not a single Coaster thats really outstanding from others in the World. Voltron is vibrating like its 8 years old and all the other coasters are just in poor mack quality. Silver star probably the best. PL has way more epic rides which you cant experience anywhere else. A Silver star or a Blue Fire can bee found all over the World.
PL has so much Prototypes in their Park, which I thinks leads to higher Downtime. The maintance is equal in both parks I think, because in germany there is are strict rules on how often and what has to be done. EP has the advantage that Mack is around the Corner.
An outstanding Ride like Winjas which is manufactured by Maurer & Söhne is in case of an bigger issue not around the corner.
The Theming in PL is way more immersive and the Advertising and Money Machines in EP just destroy the whole immersion.
In my opinion EP is overrated and offers nothing but middle-class fun.

@@user-ve7hn2dh8h More??? Sorry, but you are clueless. The number doesnt make them better...Silver Star and Blue Fire are very weak, Wodan is good, but its pointless when you cant even choose where you wanna sit. And Voltron is good, but it rattles very badly in some trains, which is a big no go. Europapark has nothing special in their line up. Phantasialand has so many very good, absolutely world class attractions. There is no way Europapark has better rides. Sorry, you have zero clue when you say otherwise.

while it is a beautiful park, i don't find the park very interesting. the ride themes are rather generic or for children, or just pure cringe. i'd take Phantasialand over Europa Park any day, and I even think Phantasialand looks better. But i'd even take Movie Park over Europa Park any day, because the themes are cooler. I also really don't like Europapark's attitude, it comes off as very posh like "We know we're the best".it's the same for Disney. Universal >>>>>> Disney any day.
That being said, the best park overall in Europe is probably Efteling, it has world class attractions combined with such a chill vibe and a very unique art style, this is where the REAL magic happens (again, fuck you Disney)

I disagree with you about Voltron. It’s not entirely my style of coaster (the elements follow each other with the same rhythm, almost like a metronome, and overall, the coaster lacks a bit of recklessness). But to say it’s not world-class is simply wrong. No matter personal opinion or taste, the hangtime is among the best in the world, the ejector airtime too, and the same goes for the laterals. The coaster is long and extremely intense, maybe too intense for some people. It’s also technologically very advanced. When I look at the best coasters I’ve ridden (not necessarily my favorites, that’s something else), it’s on the same level as a Steel Vengeance, Eejanaika, or Untamed to name a few. Definitely a top 30 in the world (and it ranks there in all serious lists: Captain Coasters and Vote Coasters).

I thought front row voltron was elite but didnt love any other rows. Found the back row uncomfortable, especially on the outside.
Personally i found silver star a bit gutless. Wished the first half was a snappy as the second half.

I agree 100%. Just how they "handle" that horrible rattle at Voltron shows their arrogance. They open a brand new coaster, the ONLY and first thrill ride in the park and its by their own brand and it has major quality issues, the theming is also not finnished. If that coaster would be by another manufacture, I am 100% sure that Europapark would be extremly unhappy about that issue and for sure they would put pressure on that manufacture to fix the problem. But Europapark owns Mack Rides, so they dont care! They dont care about their guests and that this rattle is destroying the experience of their paying customers. I get really angry how they deal with it. They know that some trains are better than others, they have different settings, different wheels. SO WHY ON EARTH have so many months passed without them reacting? They can easily make it better, just exchange that damn trains that ride badly. They do nothing because they know that they are in a comfortable position. People will always blindly vote for Europapark, no matter how bad they are doing. It sucks and its not fair to other parks. Phantasialand has not missed a beat since years! They opened Taron and FLY when the rides were absolutely perfect.
