    Thank you for pointing out this brand to me! Been looking for a good brand and found one! Been collecting mostly Mini GT, Tomica Vintage Neo, Tarmac Works, and POP Race, and this looks like a great addition to the collection!I don't care about licensing at all. Some people don't really get into all that. Buy what you love. If it ain't your cup of tea, no one is forcing you to buy it. I have bought multiple die cast brands, ranging from the usual 1/64 I have mentioned to Bburagos, BBRModels, Autoart etc (1:18) and I'm all for this. If this means that it will "threaten" and make the larger companies do better, so be it. Hopefully this make the bigger companies with licensing do better, because so far these past couple of years we have been getting poopy releases.

    • @modelcarshouston

      The larger companies don't even compete with these nonsense brands on the simple fact that they don't even license. That was easy.... lol

    • @TheSigmaDBR
      @TheSigmaDBR 8 месяцев назад +3

      @modelcarshouston But they do compete, don't they? Because it takes up a market share. These brands clearly sell. Someone could have bought a Hot Wheel or an Inno64 etc and yet they decide to buy this? That's taking up market share. It's great to shake up the market. More competitors. The better. It means that the bigger brands need to up the ante and either A. go with lower pricing or B. Improve quality. Last thing we want is a monopoly. That's where these brands come in. To challenge the system. To give it the middle finger. More brands. More competition. More improvement.

      Here's the thing, Time Micro don't appear to be claiming it's a FF car. As far as I can see, there's no FF movie logos anywhere on the box or description. Not to mention with all the differences or what you call "errors", they can say the model is not the same as the movie car and no licensing is required. They can say also if any collector mistake their model for a FF car, well that's their problem. Any true FF fan wouldn't buy this model because there's no association anywhere on the model or box to tie it in with the movie franchise.

    The brand is more miss than hit. I have a nice sakura 911, but their Tumbler Batmobile is so horribly modeled that Hot Wheels did a better job. So many brands slap liveries on the wrong castings (Tarmac Blitz Supra, VIP Impreza rally, MiniGT Stratos) that I now try to check the real car photos when it comes to famous liveries. This looks nothing like the F&F Supra as you noted.

    I personally have a time micro RWB Porsche 993 in purple. The quality is absolutely awesome and I love the model. It's indeed strange that they don't have any contact support on the package. I've seen the mentality where people have said "it's just a diecast, who cares" not you but people on other social media channels.
      So to them I say why would you want to buy or even support a brand where it's sole purpose is just to sell casts without any due diligence. You don't know the owners, they never show face and you know these people are hiding so hard hoping someone doesn't come in with massive cease and desist to disrupt their network.
      At the end of the day it's up to us to do what we think makes the most sense.

    • @ivanbima5877
      @ivanbima5877 Год назад +2

      I think they don't have any contact or social media for one simple reason. They didn't want to be flooded with cease and decist letters. If any of you guys are that bothered by it being unlicensed then why don't you report Time Micro to Toyota and Universal Pictures. They will then sue Time Micro for copyright violations and demand compensation. That will teach Time Micro never to do another unlicensed model car ever again - assuming of course Toyota and Universal Pictures actually care. I know if it was Disney or McDonalds - they will absolutely sue anyone making unlicensed merch.

    I highly doubt any of the big brands like MiniGT, Inno64, Tarmac Works would make Ferraris like: 488 pista , F8, F40 etc. So i dont see why we cant go look at other non license products for other car brands that would have a tough time getting license for.

    • @modelcarshouston
      @modelcarshouston  Год назад +2

      Ferrari is very strict about their licenses for this very reason.
      Also, Tarmac Works has offered most of those Ferraris already under collaboration with IXO Models.
      I could also frame it in another sense. Do we really need those model cars anyway just because some random brand came out with it? Just because it was created doesn't mean we need it.
      You only think you need it because some no name brand came out with it. Else the thought of it wouldn't exist.

    It is true that TM does not license their castings and that is not a great recreation of the actual MKIV Supra that paul walker drove in the movies, though compared to the offerings of the fnf supra from Hot Wheels or Jada - the details on the time micro are excellent. Any way you cut it TM's details are on par with Inno/Tarmac/Minigt/kyosho/LCD. Though I completely understand why you would not want to promote TM at all considering their disregard for licensing and that they steal a lot of their molds, but to play devil's advocate they do look good for what they are.

      Put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig. Understand, all of these incorrect details only exist to trick people into thinking they're getting a good value for the money. TM cost more than Inno but Inno is actually paying multiple companies to make their products. Also with liscenced stuff you may get less detail from time to time, but at least what's their is accurate and has the blessing and oversight of the patent company. Finally, collectability: as a collector you may not care, but you just spent $20-30 on something that a real car person or collector would laugh at. These are not the cars that hold our gain value. With this model they took something they've already done and added new paint and graphics. This saves them ridiculous amounts of money that should've been spent to recreate a faithful reproduction. Don't fall for this stuff, they're laughing at you.

That diecast looks better than the one shown in the movie "Fast & Furious" in my point of view, but the only thing that sucks in that particular model is the way the rims are designed. They should've labeled it "Rays" to at least make up for the unbranded wheels that look way more out of place.

      Quality has something to do with licensing. I think people get confused a lot with the main point.
      "It doesn't have a license, but it looks better than the licensed brands."
      That's not what drives licensing.
      China uses the same manufacturing plants, share CAD files, and everything that goes on with why there exists such a gallery of unknown brands.

    F&F cars to begin with are a joke with their useless mods (real movie ones or inspired by the movie), so why the hate? Its following the same credos from F&F which is "make it look cool" and they did.
    Make a good product, and I'll buy it, simple as that. Does it bug me a little that its unlicensed? Sure does, but will it stop me from adding a good casting into my collection? Absolutely not, plus its such a small niche market share that they capture, I dont understand why anyone would bother.
    Add to that, the fact that any hotwheels RLC is 30$+ and these blow all of the RLC's out of the water, so its a no brainer when it comes to value.
