This was the first roller coaster I ever rode back in 92. All to impress a girl I was with. "Of course I've been in roller coasters..."LOL!!! This even created an adrenaline junkie. I was scared the entire time through the line and the ride, but as much as I was shaking, I got right back on line to go again. Thank you for the flashback. 👍👍👍
Only 1,000 times better than the crud stand up coaster that replaced this epic arrow custom looper classic, park entrance eye candy. All it needed were new trains, such a great coaster. Park hasn't even put in a coaster as good in since Nitro as it is. Edit: Jersey Devil is pretty awesome though.
Overrated bigtime, not to mention demolishing Rolling Thunder, and no less rough than it ever was on top of it, as they let it rust more and more. As if there setting it up to be RMCED. Pull a "steel phantom's revenge" on it instead of just doing some retracking. And I'd still prefer Nitro. And Great American Scream Machine.
OneAndOnlySound couldn't have said it better myself! That place honest,y gets worse and worse and it's really depressing to watch something incredible slowly deteriorate and be a shadow of what it once was. It's really sad
Agree with everything but the El Toro opinion. El Toro is a brilliant coaster that kept the feeling of a rough rickety wooden coaster but modernize it with great air-time hills and a consistent speed.
Six flags memories. Great times. Yes, it did rattle you every time. There was another ride soon after this that had people standing the entire time. I can't remember the name of it, but I loved it as well.
@@peter-peter5929 The Green Lantern took the place of The Scream Machine. It is a standing ride, and it rattles, too. Really don't like it much. The best ride at Great Adventure now is El Toro, a wooden coaster. Might be the best in the country, no exaggeration. It is, though, the fastest wooden coaster in the world!
@@AndreFarrar no kidding?!! I need to take a trip and ride them all. The rattling issue is going to be difficult no matter the design because of the uneven weight distribution with everyone standing. Thank you for the update. Time to tame El Toro.
I’m going to miss that ride was one my favorites, At the end of every ride I always said to myself that’s still fun , I read comments saying it’s rough I never really thought it to be a rough ride , try the back train on Coney Island Cyclone and you will know what rough really is , WOW !
They trim braked this coaster to death. Only in an emergency situation should a coaster train be completely stopped on the MCBR. I’m not even an engineer, and I know that.
Hi again! I'm making two more videos about this coaster (one on my least favorite coasters and one covering this ride's history). May I use this footage once again for these videos and credit you as usual?
@@The_DoD3 @TheDoD3 I was around 13 years old when I rode it (2005), so I was much shorter and more susceptible to headbanging. I recognize its historical significance though and will point out that I would be willing to give it another shot if it was still around.
Greetings again! May I use some of this footage again in a video about the history of sponsored attractions? I will give your channel full credit as usual.

It apparently had gotten rough in its final years, which led to a decrease in ridership. As well as high maintenance, which the park figured wasn't worth it.
The most miserable roller coaster I’ve ever ridden. It gave me a headache that lasted for three days. I do like your footage of it, you did a nice job. Do you have footage of any old darkrides from the area like the Haunted Castle, Dracula’s Castle, Frankenstein’s Castle... etc?
Oh yeah, Scream Machine was a rough one! It got better after I realized where all the worst spots were, but most people would rather not even take a second ride, haha. Unfortunately I don't have any video of old dark rides as I started taking my cameras to parks and fairs in the mid 2000s after a lot of the best dark rides were gone.
Tiny Power probably because six flags didn't have the money to properly maintain it. From what I know they just let it stand there and rot over the years. Its a shame, it had a great history.
This ride had the best sounding arrow lift hill. I miss hearing it at great adventure.
Gemini at Cedar Point sounds the same.
Phantom’s Revenge still sounds best to me, even after listening to this one.
@@Stagnant_Gravy phantoms revenge's lift goes too slow. This one went pretty fast and made it much louder especially in person.
Magnum XL 200 has it

ummmmmm, El Toro?
I know. So pathetic they demolished it. They honestly suck now.

The good ol' Great American Scream Machine. That thing used to bang my head back and forth on the shoulder harnesses. But, it was a must ride!
I have the same experience with viper at magic mountain

What a sound! This rollercoaster seems to be more badass than a lot of hyper or giga coaster!
Have you ridden a giga ?

@2:30 nostalgia blowing sound. That mid course brake run when leaving or entering the park. Good times
I love the sound of Arrow lift hills
We always celled it the "Great American Concussion Machine" ...it explained the almost non-existent line even on busy days.
Miss this ride .

Yes. Seems a bit soft to call the Scream Machine rough, even if it wasn't a glass smooth digital experience that everyone expects now.
This coaster is highly underatted
I miss arrow loopers. I wish somehow they would come back😢
One of my all time favorites, although as I grew up I remember the seats in the train becoming very tight and a bit painful.
They were so efficient on the coaster. Soon as one train was finishing the next was out of the station and up the lift hill.
I miss it so much 😫
my first real coaster ride :)
I love the shot of King Daka behind it.
This is so much better than Green Lantern
I miss the seal sound when it hits the break section.
I never got the chance to ride
I hope they get rid of green lantern and remake this
I forgot how weird those brakes sounded.
Rip
This thing looks and sounds like it is a better ride than Green Lantern, I really wish they didn’t remove it.

Braking it completely at the MCBR killed this coaster.
They had to otherwise the trains would go through the last inversions too fast and would wear the track and joints down even quicker

Sure, go ahead.
I wished I could of rode this but now it’s not there and green lantern rook it’s place
I miss scream machine better then green Lantern crap
It was sad to see this go, I think Green Lantern, The Stand-up replacement is better than this Old Rough Ride.
Viper (Magic Mountain) is okay for now.
