Had a blast working at Gazzarri's in the Summer of 1987 with the bands " Street Angel" and " Aircraft." I remember the gals dancing to "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake over and over 👍 You had to be 21 to work inside the club or with the bands, but I wasn't ..... and nobody gave a shit. Mr. Gazzarri would pull up out front on Sunset in his limousine with the girls. Always said hello to the people in line out front. He just wanted everyone to have a good time. I know I did! Many thanks to Mr. Gazzarri and the bands " Street Angel" (drummer called himself Nikki Lee ) "Aircraft" and " Black Bambi." Yep - the " Glam Rock" era, back when it was actually fun to be a kid in L.A. 👍 👍 👍 👍
I just looked on the Wikipedia page for this club and it said ? And The Mysterians were amongst one of the bands to have played there in the 60's when the club was at its peak in popularity. My father was the guitarist of that band back in 66-69 when he was still a teenager.
I just read that wiki before I made the video. I was thinking that was a cool band name. That's so awesome that your dad was in that band. I'm going to have to check them out.
I just listened to your dad's band. I know their main songs well. I guess I assumed it was the Animals. Very cool! I took a hard look at your dad. Trippy times!
There was nobody dirtier than Bill. Horniest old man EVER ! I sure miss the 80’s. FUCKKK ! Amber’s left & right. Thank you for these. This takes me BACKKK !
@@keith-kessinger he had radio commercials back in the 80's Pearcy was mimicking his accent/what he would say. How after you played his club then went out on tour sold a million albums he'd have your face painted on a wall or something.
@@keith-kessinger Hahaha exactly! "Da same stage where da Doors, Van Halen, and RATT started. And anuduh ting...all my bands got foxy guys in them. If you ain't a foxy guy and you ain't playin' da best rock and roll, you don't get on MY stage!"
I looked the place up. Looks like at this time the best known of the girls who danced at Gazzarri's are actress, singer, and Playboy girl Barbi Benton, TV actress Catherine Bach - who was Daisy Duke, and Lisa Leonard Dalton whose 1975 dance to Hang on Sloopy by Rick Derringer has been all over the internet for at least the last decade.
Hey Keith, thanks for posting...brings back some great memories! My band Filthy Rocks played at Gazzarri's many times, including one of the Miss Gazzarri Dancer Contests in 1987 with a band called "Dirty Blonde". Bill was such a unique character. He was on stage and introduced us that night using my center stage mic, and after a very cool intro botched our name...he said, "Okay, dis next band is gonna be a very big ting in da music business, you know it, I know it, they're friends of yours and friends of mine...let's hear it for DIRTY ROCK!!!", and as he started to walk off, since I was right next to him I said "Bill, it's Filthy Rocks", and he just shrugged his shoulders and kept walking and said, "whatevah". F'ing classic! Another night after our set we were in the downstairs bar and Bill came in and sat down next to me. After some small talk I asked him, "So what was it like when Jim Morrison was hangin' out in here?" He leaned back away from me, looked me straight in the eyes and after an uncomfortable pause as if that was a dumb question, he just said, "He was a fucked up kid!" LMAO! What a treasure; we were so lucky to have been there, weren't we?

@@keith-kessinger Wonder how the Miss Gazzarries earned the title? LOL
@@jamessmith-ow1bf Lol. David Lee Roth told some Bill stories in his book.
I heard Stephen Pearcy on the Frazer Smith Show 2 years ago and he talked a lot about that Gazzari guy.
What did Stephen say about Bill?

Loved Gazzarris!! Right next door was the Roxy. I miss the 80's
I was just there. Who did you see at Gazzarri's?
Loved it I used to go there & Bill would be at the front door talking to you until David Lee Roth showed up behind me & Bill blew me off lol
Haha. That's too funny. Did you play in any of the bands?
That one girl dancing fell, but she got right back up and continued..she got what it takes
Haha. I like the way she just didn't get fazed at all.
Just what i needed to watch right now. Thank you.
Awesome. Thank you!
