Your brand of humor and content in general could not have come at a better time, because everyone was either very serious or overly positive (both completely justified) but that just isnt my way of coping. The way you had these dramatic scandals with the villagers or long storys about egypt and your life and whatnot was such a good timeout in many ways, and I want to thank you for it :) The villager rating series is actually part of my list of comfort videos that I go back to regularly to drown out the world if I need to. Hi Amanda, hearing you talk about your aunt really made me feel connected with you and I want you to know that you aren't alone in your grief. I've lost a cousin, two aunts, an uncle, my grandparents on my dad's side and my grandpa that I currently live with is declining rapidly in his health. The amount of grief I carry on a day to day basis is overwhelming. I want you to know it gets easier and thank you so much for opening up, I know how hard it is bottling it up because you don't have anyone that can relate. I know processing grief is hard, and one thing that helps me is writing letters to the ones I've lost. I save them in my journal and write to them whenever I feel like. Wishing you, your animals, and your family a safe, wonderful 2021. ❤

I feel you on taking down the Christmas stuff! As someone who also lives in/is from the northeast, for me christmas is like what makes winter cutesy and fun, and when you're taking down the christmas decorations it's like the realization that the fun part of winter is over but you still have 2-3 more months of just absolute shit weather in front of you with nothing fun.

Thank you so much for sharing the stories about your aunt, it’s so clear to see the affect she had on you and I’m so sorry that she passed. My grampa also passed this year so I thought I’d just share some funny little things about him for you Amanda (and all of you scrolling through the comments). He was 90 when he died so he lived through WW2, and he slept through a mf bomb going off. Let me repeat that. THIS MAN WASNT EVEN WOKEN UP BY AN EXPLOSION. He used to read to me when I was little and we’d both end up asleep, him in the rocking chair and me in the bed. He was also really good at scrabble and I was really good at chess and because we were both so stubborn, we refused to play those things together because the other person didn’t want to lose haha. Anyways I just thought it would be nice for you all to hear about some happy memories of my grampa, he was a very cool guy 💞

I'm so incredibly sorry for your loss, Amanda 😔💔 I understand what you mean when you say covid doesn't let you grieve in the traditional way. My favorite grandmother passed away on April 30th from Covid as well and it was so hard not being able to hold my father and cry together. It was a mission finding a funeral home that would let us have a service. I miss her so much. If it wasn't for ACNH I have no idea how I could've ever survived that pain.

I actually lost my aunt recently as well.. She managed to fight off Covid, but it turned into pneumonia and it was just too much for her. I just wanted to say thank you for brightening up the year a bit for me and everyone else watching your videos. It may not seem like you do much, but your videos are so light-hearted, fun, and even wholesome.. It's honestly just what everyone needed during these hard times. In 2020, I also lost my aunt. She was in her 40s and died very suddenly. She was an absolute light in this world - she was a teacher and worked with special needs kids. She was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known and she made me feel so loved. So I’m really sharing in your pain... I almost clicked away from the video when I heard you’d be talking about a loss because I knew it’d be painful, but I’m glad I realised it would be best to stay and listen to you. I was a frontline worker from September to November for elderly COVID patient until I caught it. I am still in medical leave because it left me with heart issues at 23 and hearing your story about your island and playing ACNH really helps keep me sane and positive especially since I recently had to push back my studies to become a nurse. I really felt that when you were talking about how you never felt like you’d meet people like you. While watching your videos I’ve literally been like “o_o oh my god I’ve never related to anyone so much before.” I’ve always watched a lot of videos but I’ve never felt very similar to the people I watched but I always get so excited to watch your videos because it feels like we would genuinely get along in real life.

This has been an awful year, but Amanda’s videos really helped me through it. Getting into bad head spaces and not even being able to work on my village in the way that I want, her stories and lore really just helped me just lose myself in the game and made 2020 not as bad :)
I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss. Loosing a family member is so difficult. My dad passed away a couple years ago and I didn’t talk about it because I didn’t feel ready. I was hurting a lot and felt so many regrets and so much nostalgia. It’s okay to wait to talk and I’m so proud of you for opening up about it. Amanda, I discovered your videos this summer when I had to stay at home alone for two months after losing a loved one as well. I couldn’t see friends tor safety. Every day alone felt like a battle but putting your videos on while I played animal crossing or before bed really gave me comfort and peace. thank you for opening up about your aunt Amanda ❤️ this year i lost my great grandma, she was 91. her health deteriorated so so fast and we really had no idea until it was too late. i live in New York with my parents and the rest of my family lives in connecticut, and it’s a 7 hour drive. there was just no way we’d get down in time so we had to say goodbye over the phone. after she passed i couldn’t go to the funeral because i would’ve had to quarantine and miss school days, which i really can’t do. but i wrote a letter to her and it was buried with her, and that brings me a lot of peace. it’s hard because i graduate this year and i always thought she would be there, and i would always gossip with her. but i know she’ll always be there watching ❤️

As a consistent viewer, Amanda's videos have brought joy to me as well. 2020 has fortunately not been as horrible as others. But of course as most years, it has had its fair share of hard times, most of my issues that arose in 2020 were mental issues. So when Amanda talks about her own mental issues and struggles in her videos it brings a sense of relatability, which has helped boost my mood on many occasions. At first I was skeptical about whether I would like you or not, but the more I watched you, the more I felt close to you and your opinions. Your brand of humor and content in general could not have come at a better time, because everyone was either very serious or overly positive (both completely justified) but that just isnt my way of coping. The way you had these dramatic scandals with the villagers or long storys about egypt and your life and whatnot was such a good timeout in many ways, and I want to thank you for it :)

Hi Amanda, hearing you talk about your aunt really made me feel connected with you and I want you to know that you aren't alone in your grief. I've lost a cousin, two aunts, an uncle, my grandparents on my dad's side and my grandpa that I currently live with is declining rapidly in his health. The amount of grief I carry on a day to day basis is overwhelming. I want you to know it gets easier and thank you so much for opening up, I know how hard it is bottling it up because you don't have anyone that can relate. I know processing grief is hard, and one thing that helps me is writing letters to the ones I've lost. I save them in my journal and write to them whenever I feel like. Wishing you, your animals, and your family a safe, wonderful 2021. ❤

I feel you on taking down the Christmas stuff! As someone who also lives in/is from the northeast, for me christmas is like what makes winter cutesy and fun, and when you're taking down the christmas decorations it's like the realization that the fun part of winter is over but you still have 2-3 more months of just absolute shit weather in front of you with nothing fun.

Thank you so much for sharing the stories about your aunt, it’s so clear to see the affect she had on you and I’m so sorry that she passed. My grampa also passed this year so I thought I’d just share some funny little things about him for you Amanda (and all of you scrolling through the comments). He was 90 when he died so he lived through WW2, and he slept through a mf bomb going off. Let me repeat that. THIS MAN WASNT EVEN WOKEN UP BY AN EXPLOSION. He used to read to me when I was little and we’d both end up asleep, him in the rocking chair and me in the bed. He was also really good at scrabble and I was really good at chess and because we were both so stubborn, we refused to play those things together because the other person didn’t want to lose haha. Anyways I just thought it would be nice for you all to hear about some happy memories of my grampa, he was a very cool guy 💞

My favorite grandmother passed away on April 30th from Covid as well and it was so hard not being able to hold my father and cry together. It was a mission finding a funeral home that would let us have a service. I miss her so much. If it wasn't for ACNH I have no idea how I could've ever survived that pain.

In 2020, I also lost my aunt. She was in her 40s and died very suddenly. She was an absolute light in this world - she was a teacher and worked with special needs kids. She was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known and she made me feel so loved. So I’m really sharing in your pain... I was a frontline worker from September to November for elderly COVID patient until I caught it. I am still in medical leave because it left me with heart issues at 23 and hearing your story about your island and playing ACNH really helps keep me sane and positive especially since I recently had to push back my studies to become a nurse. Honestly im not really one for the drama of your island but instead the stories about the irl amanda that keep me coming back. I really felt that when you were talking about how you never felt like you’d meet people like you. While watching your videos I’ve literally been like “o_o oh my god I’ve never related to anyone so much before.” I’ve always watched a lot of videos but I’ve never felt very similar to the people I watched but I always get so excited to watch your videos because it feels like we would genuinely get along in real life.

This has been an awful year, but Amanda’s videos really helped me through it. Getting into bad head spaces and not even being able to work on my village in the way that I want, her stories and lore really just helped me just lose myself in the game and made 2020 not as bad :)
I’m so incredibly sorry for your loss. Loosing a family member is so difficult. My dad passed away a couple years ago and I didn’t talk about it because I didn’t feel ready. I was hurting a lot and felt so many regrets and so much nostalgia. It’s okay to wait to talk and I’m so proud of you for opening up about it. I still struggle to this day with his death and your videos ALWAYS make me hopeful and happy when I’m sad. thank you for opening up about your aunt Amanda ❤️ this year i lost my great grandma, she was 91. her health deteriorated so so fast and we really had no idea until it was too late. i live in New York with my parents and the rest of my family lives in connecticut, and it’s a 7 hour drive. there was just no way we’d get down in time so we had to say goodbye over the phone. after she passed i couldn’t go to the funeral because i would’ve had to quarantine and miss school days, which i really can’t do. but i wrote a letter to her and it was buried with her, and that brings me a lot of peace. it’s hard because i graduate this year and i always thought she would be there, and i would always gossip with her. but i know she’ll always be there watching ❤️

As a consistent viewer, Amanda's videos have brought joy to me as well. 2020 has fortunately not been as horrible as others. But of course as most years, it has had its fair share of hard times, most of my issues that arose in 2020 were mental issues. So when Amanda talks about her own mental issues and struggles in her videos it brings a sense of relatability, which has helped boost my mood on many occasions. I’m so sorry for your loss. This year has definitely been a bad one, I’ve lost 2 family members this year and it sucked so bad. My heart goes out to anyone else who has lost someone this year due to Covid or not ♥️
I lost my mom in 2020 so it’s sad, but I’m so glad I found Animal Crossing to help take my mind off the loss. I started playing Animal Crossing before she passed away but the community has been a godsend to distract from the dumpster fire that was 2020.

I also lost my awesome aunt this year. My grandmother died two days later. They’re all down south and I’m in NY. It’s so isolating.
