Every year i play this song and watch the movie. I am 58 years old and alone but still cant help myself. Two of the best actors of their time😊. A true fan i am .❤
My earliest memory is my mom singing this song to me, she changed the words from "grandest lady" to "grandest baby" , and "proudest momma" instead of "fella"
I just watched Easter Parade this morning because of having Peter Lawford, I know him because of the Kennedys, my grandmother likes them. Also because of having Judy Garland we know her for her role as Dorothy in The Wizard Of Oz, it was my grandparents childhood movie. Also because of being a Easter movie and being a fan favorite. Happy Easter.
Society became too uglified and debased by design for this to be thinkable now except for those of us who can sufficiently remove ourselves and remain focused on the goodness that now seems so sadly distant.
We did so baaack in 1964!! I was 4. I hated/hate my school, but this is a memory I keep in my heart. And even more, just months ago when, after all these years, I became a crazy fan of Judy and knew she sang it. And I got to see the film today. I was so thrilled!! ...💜🌿
@@aleolidemu6169 - That's nice that it brings back good memories about it. I have a photograph of my Grandma from back in the late 1970's when she went in to a care home, and she was sat down with an Easter bonnet on her head, and this just conjures up that picture every time I hear it.
The word is "Rotogravure" and refers to an instant printing process, where photographers would produce and sell images of event participants printed on cardboard postcards
@@RAMROD4708 Perhaps, but the reference in the song is to the rotogravure printing process used to produce the pictorial magazines inserted in Sunday newspapers in the early 20th Century. (". . . you'll find yourself in the rotogravure.") The process allowed for better photo reproduction than with letterpress printing (or more recently photo-offset lithography) on newsprint. Nowadays, the remaining Sunday supplements are printed by offset. It's still possible, however, to find rotogravure printers.
Love this song, Mom used to sing it, then I sang it to my kids.....of course, now I see that his hat doesn't have the "frills upon it" in the final scene that he walked out the door with in previous scene...funny
seems options for innocent joyous gaiety abound for you people - January 6th, for example - problem is they all involve trying to overthrow our government or our Constitution History will not be kind to the modern Republican Party or any of its braindead lemming members
As our sick world becomes more vile and spiritually polluted by the day...I find myself CRAVING sweet wholesome images...just as I craved chocolate Easter Bunnies as a child.
Weird comment to make on a film that is barely about Easter, (it’s about Astaire and Garland making it as vaudeville stars and falling in love) and what time is dedicated to Easter is entirely secular in its presentation. There is nothing remotely religious about this film.

My mom loved this movie. This is the first year without her. This songs been stuck in my head all day. Happy Easter 🐰🐣
So sorry for your loss. Your mom is with you always. ❤️ much love and healing to you and yours.
I’m sorry for your loss.

That is absolutely adorable!!
(Not a word I use often!)
What a wonderfully sweet memory! ☺️
Judy is so beautiful
My dads mom used to sing this. My mother sung it every Easter when I was little. Gives me such nostalgia.💛
Two of the entertainment industry's greatest performers.
I completely agree - and there was no shortage of talent! These two were, quite simply at the top.
true legends love this song always makes me smile

When she sings "on the avenue, fifth avenue" I could die with happiness.
❤❤❤❤classic of easter
I can hear and see this over and over again!
Judy is absolutely gorgeous.
Ohhhhh back in the days . . . Priceless!!!
My mom use to sing this. ❤
Ah, the America we've lost and squandered.
We can bring back the good parts. Don't feel defeated.
People are going to say this 50 years from now lol
There simply is no way to make movies like this anymore. There are not the stars or anything else that would do justice to it.
Society became too uglified and debased by design for this to be thinkable now except for those of us who can sufficiently remove ourselves and remain focused on the goodness that now seems so sadly distant.
Two great artists together
This is the best movie I've ever seen…
We used to sing this at school back in the 1970's and hearing this is wonderful.

@@Holcroft1969 That's sweet 💖.. 💜🌿
Happy Easter!
They don't make them anymore.
Class.
Happy EasterDear friends and patriots
Lovely.🥰
This brings back some really great memories
My grandmother used to sing this. Memories!
Wonderful memories of when I first heard this number.
Marvelous❤🎉😊
Gene Kelly was originally cast instead of Astaire as he and Judy were closer in age. But Gene broke his ankle.
Loved this RA, thanks for remembering icons on Easter Day!
Thank you and Happy Easter to you and your family,
You're welcome. Thank you, and Happy Easter to you as well.
Hope we have a pretty day for Easter
Fred Astaire was always a lucky guy .
I always thought his leading ladies were pretty lucky too 😁
@@Melly_6 Dating their grandfather? That fella ought to have been young in the early 1920s.
Wonderful heartwarming memories !! I always thought it said you’ll be in the autograph bureau. Don’t know what that word was 😂

BEAUTIFUL❤❤❤
Over 100 years later, it would be "Instagram" instead of "Rotogravure" 😘😊 Happy Easter 2024!!
Wearing gloves but not social distancing in 2020! Still great!
That inconvenient truth when we find ourselves in an airborne pandemic!
Love ❤️ it

Love this
The pendant to "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas". 🙂
Astaire-Garland❤❤
The ice cream truck in my neighborhood plays this!
Was a great movie
🌟💕Thank you!! 🎶💜🌟💜🎶~~~~~>💓°•○☆💕💎
Classy!
I thought Freddy was small but seeing Judy she must have been tiny
She was.
💌
How’s that for a topper 🎩.
Did Fred Astair always look old? Or were his leading ladies so young? Great song
Fred Astaire was nearly 50 and Judy was 25, so there was a big age difference yes
He was considered old even when he was first starting his career in Hollywood!
😢🎉

TACK OM DU FORTFARANDE TYCKER OM MEJ ÄKTA SÅ RING MEJ
Which cathedral is that?!
It’s supposed to be St Patrick’s Cathedral in NYC
South park brought me here
Good on you for looking it up. It's a good oldie.
i loved judy but TBH she could only sing one way
The wokes have put an end to such innocent joyous gaiety.
Not allowed to say, or sing Easter.
Not one person to promote cultural diversity in sight.
You seem to have a bee 🐝 in your bonnet. 🎩

You know they made a doll model after Judy Garland's character in this movie
Happy Easter!
