There is absolutely nothing else like this in the history of musical film. It's just brilliant, a joy to watch over and over and over. How I miss both of them.
I get the impression that Fred Astaire kind of laid low and allowed Judy to shine as much as possible. I could be wrong, but I just think that's how he was, he'd had just returned from "retirement" to do this picture, and Judy was still "a kid". I think he was a very magnanimous guy.
Gosh! What great entertainment. Makes you feel good while watching it, patting my feet and moving my hands with the music. Pure clean wholesome escapism.
Just fabulous, and terrific picture quality too so it can be fully enjoyed. It looks like it was made yesterday and I very much doubt that anything made today could possibly compare.
Judy came up with their costumes for the number. Fred knew this wasn’t a tuxedo dance number that he did with Ginger. Rita. Etc. Judy went to his trailer in costume and said “Fred, is this too much?” The rest is movie musical history
THE VERY BEST!!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ~Love this! Love Them Both.❤️👍🏽👍🏽💕 -SO Cute! Priceless!!! And Precious. True Professionals and Performers! No words… Love the number.👍🏽😃❤️😄
At 26 Judy at her zenith in her movie career. My favorite Judy scene from all her musicals. She was THE entertainer of the 20th century. I never once saw Fred during this number.
First time seeing this clip. Judy seems to be effortlessly, almost improvising this with a feeling of freedom. More than a touch of vaudeville style, just transcendent face and eyes. Incredible.
the ultimate talent , at a level ...too high for the actual dancer etc ! noone can do this again ! and im always blown away , " how a lady like that can dance like that ???? " !
I was drawn to Judy the moment she appeared and was never distracted by Fred the entire performance. I get the feeling that he was either playing down or was intimidated due to his enormous respect for Judy's abilities. He was quoted as saying she was the most talented performer that existed or will ever exist.

Fred was always the gentleman and allowed his female partners to shine. You can see how much flash Judy's costume and makeup had compared to his toned down version. He was also attentive to every detail in the planning of a dance routine, especially the beginning and the exit, so the audience found every moment entertaining.
A Favourite of Mother & Fathers ... I can Recall Father Speaking The Words " Easter Parade " with Awesome Appreciative Tone of Voice ..& Mother Likwise ... They Would have Seen it at local Picture house when it 1st came to U K ; Lucky Buggers !
With all due respect to Fred, but, Fred entered Judy's world on this number and she killed him. Fred is to reserved in this number, he never really looked comfortable. Judy stoled this number the second she walked on the stage, just look at her face. She looked as though she was having a ball, and Fred just looked out of place. Judy could do it all, Fred not quite.
Terry Grant Sorry to disagree slightly: yes, of course she is absolutely fantastic, but he gives her all the space to truly shine! That‘s a quality. They are true „partners“ here. Love them both!

WONDERFUL MUSIC. VERY TALENTED PEOPLE. Hard to find this kind of talent. Mary
I'm watching this in 2024 for the umpteenth time, and Fred and Judy are still brilliant as ever. ❤
Impeccable performance from two true greats.
I couldn't take my eyes off of Judy during this entire number. She dominated every movement.

Incredible performance Fred Astire and Judy Garland. What a pair. THATS ENTERTAINMENT 🎉❤🎉
I watched this film when I was a child and I absolutely loved this part 🙏
If only we had actors that that could act sing and dance like this today ❤
Agreed if only!
But first you have to have the IT Factor
The world has given in to realty television - talentless celebrities(in some cases) it is all very sad
Eyes are on Judy here. Fred is wonderful too, but Judy knocks this out of the park. So cute! Miss you both!
you can tell they had a good time filming this
WONDERFUL SONGS Judy and Fred Astaire. Thank you. MARY
I still watch this about once a week , a timeless classic !

Fred and Judy got along great! Cute number!

Masterpiece...Astaire is Astaire, Judy is ... incredibly talented here. I can see her soul. Both of them are my medecine.
Judy Can Do Anything an No Wrong , She is THE GREATEST EVER 💋
There, was fellow Hollywooders a golden age, today's isn't it
Easter Parade was a huge hit for MGM. And Astaire came out of retirement to do it.
First time seeing this clip. Judy seems to be effortlessly, almost improvising this with a feeling of freedom. More than a touch of vaudeville style, just transcendent face and eyes. Incredible.
I agree; I feel that not often enough does she get the chance to ‘do her own thing’ and Fred-he’s enjoying himself immensely as are we.
I love this
A Cinematic Musical Great !!!

Imagine 1948

I think they're both having a ball...
I wonder why , Fred was always known as the ultimate perfectionist !
To say Fred Astaire wasn't up to the dancing is like saying Caruso couldn't sing !
Here, here.
Judy was so much looser and funnier than Fred. She was having way too much fun. You can see it in her eyes.
