I really enjoy this band. Been listening to them for awhile now. This was one of their older songs, you should check out some of their other songs as well. They are also great in concert , been to several of their shows, they are really a high energy band.
Now you're in my wheelhouse musically. You should check out (with music videos) Feed the Machine by Red I Will Fail You by Demon Hunter Lifewar also by Demon Hunter Fire in the Kitchen by Manafest
Skillet came into my life at the right time and actually helped quite a bit in helping me find my way back to God after a 20 yr. It was actually pretty amazing how it happened and if you'd like to hear about it I'll share it. But either way this is an awesome band and I'm glad you enjoyed the song❤️
I also requested this so I'm happy you did react to one of my favorite bands. Even with the different spiritual aspects of the band vs my beliefs I still absolutely love their music. It got me through some of the darkest days I faced. I'm super glad you jammed out to them! Check out Alien Youth by them too or Comatose. No matter how long it's been since I've been to their concerts I still remember just how amazing they are! They were my first concert too! If you liked this, check out all their music!
Skillet has an amazing library of songs; Awake and Alive, Monster, Hero, Not Gonna Die, Sick of It, Alien Youth, Back from the Dead... The Resistance has a KILLER guitar solo!
oh, also, btw, underoath (band name), is christian rock too but u would totally not know it. please check them out. its like metal grundgey moshpit stuff (songwriting on the walls). also, the band-*reliant k* is good too
This song is an old one, off of the first album of theirs that I ever heard. Their new album is awesome as well. You should check out the song "Feel Invincible". "Monster" and "Hero" are other Skillet songs that you should hear too!!!
I remember seeing this band at an open-air concert in Southern Missouri ... I was at the back of the stadium and my clothes were vibrating! They are awesome!
Solomani Their song Cassie is also amazing. It’s one of the more difficult ones in my set list because if I think about the lyrics much at all it’s hard to keep singing. Songs like that are hard, but worth it.
I know this reaction is 4 years old, but that's one of the most honest reactions I've ever seen, also I checked some other material and decided to subscribe. Like you said, this band indeed is christian. This particular song is about God being with us all even to the end of this age, God's encouraging us all that we're not alone, he'll always love us even tho it might seem like our days or even lifes are completely covered in darkness. God will always be here with us, no matter the situation. Love that reaction btw
I love Skillet even though I’m not a Christian,I have always followed a more Pagan and Native American spirituality path because of my heritage but I can still find the powerful messages in their songs
SKILLET IS VERY AWESOME!! Ty, you really should check out ALL of the SKILLET Albums!! Thank you for all of your inspirational messages after the songs....YOU are AWESOME!! 💥💫👍
Skillet has been around for a while but only recently came into the spotlight with their album Awake. They have too many great songs to list but some with great themes are Lucy (about abortion), Would it Matter (depression and suicide), Feel Invincible (motivational great workout song), Savior (child abuse)
Skillet Stars original music video. Monster, Sick of It, Walk Like Lions. I could go on, and on. Their awesome! And the drummer is great. She plays on a drum set that circular and never misses a beat.
One of the better christian rock bands. Glad to see them getting some love. Comatose is the last album before Jen Ledger became the drummer (she is amazing). Yes, the Awake album is really good. I have not had the opportunity to listen to the rise album yet, but I will do so soon. My overall favorite songs by Skillet are "Monster", "Lucy", and "It's not Me it's You". Now a question for anyone reading this, if a band openly professes to be Christians and lives it, but does not market their music as Christian but still gives spiritual values. They just don't want their music labeled as Christian. Would you call them a Christian band? Two examples of what I mean are P.O.D. and Twenty One Pilots, although there are many more. The difference between these two is that P.O.D. is sold in Christian music stores while TØP is not. Underoath is one that used to profess as a Christian band until their most recent album where they went off the deep end. If you really want to here something very different from a side a Christian music that you may have never knew existed then check out "Giving Up Hurts the Most" by Underoath. It is about two friends being in a car accident. One is Christian and one is not. The one who is not dies in the accident, and the singer is lamenting on how giving up on the fact that he will ever see his friend again for all eternity is the hardest thing. Everyone always says, "They are in a better place" or, "You will see them again one day". In this case, the singer know full well that they are not in a better place and the he will NEVER see them again. I warn you though, this song is intense. It has tempo changes, key changes, vocal style changes, and other things. I highly recommend using a video with the lyrics or to have the lyrics handy because if this style of music is not what you are used to, then you will need the lyrics to follow along. Good Luck. P.S. I still want you to do "Neon Gravestones" by Twenty One Pilots, but I will take either.
Red is a Christian group that’s... harder than most would expect for Christian music (except for one album, maybe, heh). Breathe Into Me, Already Over, Pieces, Part that’s Holding On, Of These Chains, Take me Over, Perfect Life, Start Again, Forever, Buried Beneath, Not Alone.... gah I could keep going. I really like groups that are religious but really put pain in their music. Sometimes Christian music can feel... alienating to me. I’ve been sick since I was 11, diagnosed since 12. I never got better. Not one person in my family isn’t chronically ill. My Dad’s a doctor and his illness is getting worse every year. I don’t remember what it feels like to not be in pain, not really. I woke up one morning and hadn’t moved and it felt quiet, like after it’s been raining for days and you wake up from the quiet. So for me, personally, seeing some darkness and discontentment and struggle and pain is more realistic than a lot of the... more content songs. Just cause you love Jesus doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy and embracing suffering because it’s the plan isn’t easy. I couldn’t stop pacing for hours at nights, for months, and this is one of the groups I’ve listened to. If anyone has ideas for other groups that sort of... aren’t what’s expected in Christian music, I’d love new material to put on repeat!
For some great Christian Rap check out the Ambassador. The Thesis and Christology are his best albums IMO. Not a Christian but I appreciate the music and the message.
lol.......I like this for the words and the beat, etc. but the whole time I'm listening to it, (for the first time), I'm thinking about a totally acoustical version with a simple guitar and vocals too..
skillet is awsome. even though most of their songs have something to do with religion, they make the lyrics so u can interpret the songs in different ways. like in the song comatose the meaning can be interpreted in several different ways. like u could think its that theyre singing to a lover or think its that theyre singing about God. even though skillet is a christian rock band they make their songs so that christians and non religious ppl will like and listen to their songs. thats how theyre so popular. u should listen to lucy by skillet. then look up what the real meaning of the song is. i think the lead singer explains what its about right before he sings it at all his concerts. and he put a video on youtube saying what its about.
Such a great Christian rock band....the one they are descibing is God...there goes those chills...ill be the one thats going to find you ...ill be the one there to guide you...my love is an ever consuming fire...great reaction ...
Yes, Yes, Yes!!! Crowder and Toby Mac. Also, go back a few years to when Toby Mac was in DC Talk. They had some amazing songs too back in the 90's. Also, another member of DC Talk Michael Tait went on to become the lead singer for Newsboys. They are AWESOME! And please don't forget Mercy Me! That's just scratching the surface on great Christian artists.
What makes you think that? This song is sung from the perspective of God. How He hears all of our whispers in the dark and is always willing and waiting to give us the love that we need. How is that not a song with a Christian spirit?
yeah...there were a lot of biblical references in there. Definitely from GODS perspective. I love the "CONSUMING FIRE" line. Yall should check out the song "CONSUMING FIRE" by ThirdDay
Might as well check out Hero by Skillet. :p
