I love how you treat your dog omg, the amount of freedom you give him and spend time with him really makes me happy and this is an example of how all little animals- like dogs! should always experience.

During the late 70s into 1980, I collected underground all over the Kelly District. The pyrite azurite malachite smithsonite and dogtooth calcite specimens were amazing. Spending weekends underground were some special times.
You are very lucky to have had that opportunity. Apparently there was some world class specimens coming from there. I would have loved explore these mines. Unfortunately, a lot of the mines in New Mexico are being closed by BLM. I am trying to explore as many as i can before they are closed. I have collected some wonderful specimens, but i have heard these mines were something special. The mines in Bingham were supposed to be good also.
@@gabrielaguilar1391 I've collected underground at Bingham as well. The Kelly District -- Juanita, Graphic-Waldo, Kelly Mines in particular -- and so many others were just amazing. I've sold off everything I've had, but I still have the first piece of orange barite I collected at Kelly and a huge specimen of dogtooth calcite from Kelly which is brilliant red under UV ( and a drill bit and a brass stope marker from the Graphic ).
@@rjnarsavagejr.3132 Those must be some great memories! Unfortunately, i got started kinda late in this hobby. I can only imagine how nice it was before all the closures. I'll bet you have some great stories!
@@gabrielaguilar1391 I do I do. I wrote a book along with a colleague, look me up on Amazon. Not a plug, just letting you know I'm for real lol but I have so many stories about collecting underground and just collecting in general. And yea, I'm sure with all the closures now it's nothing like it was back then.

I love watching your videos. I'm the owner and president of snap shot mining and milling. Your miner that mines crystals I'm a hard rock miner that mines metals. Just wanted you to know that outside of a mine is called a waste dump and the stuff that goes through the mill it's called the tailings. Like I said I love your videos I've actually learned quite a bit on Precious gems and crystals thank you very much.

What a wonderful place to dig for crystals Bryan, the views you showed us are awesome!! It looks so peaceful and the treasures are all below the surface to br found. Matrix certainly enjoyed digging there lol and so did everyone else. The different colours of the crystals are beautiful but I saw a couple of pieces with a beautiful red on them and wonder what that is? I was thrilled when the mine owner said the large piece was smithsonite, which was lovely though I prefer the azurite and its beautiful blues. Terry came in and heard your voice and said to say hello from him and laughed when I showed him Matrix digging and then lying down. From the description they said they went to Graphic Mine near Magalena NM. You want to go to one of the rock shops there to buy a permit to dig through the tailings pile, I believe it is Bill's Gem and Mineral that gives a permit for this mine in particular.

I was just in Magdelena today, after I went to the Mineral Museum at the NM Institue of Mining and Technology. They have great specimens from all over the world and loads from NM mines and huge pieces of Smithsonian! I will have to check out the Graphic mine location when it is warmer. Hope you got to eat at the Tumbleweeds Diner there, great food and lovely people.

VERY nice color. But that giant vug of smithsonite was off the chain! Good day there. I think the pyrite site needs some more exploration - reminds me of the dumps around Leadville, CO - if you dig around enough, you'd probably start to find larger colonies. Might be worth an extra day.

You could do up a plant pot with Cactus a small plat as a tiny tree and these crystals, sell them as extra and you have other resources....
