      peterson`s hero is per definition siding with power. a man who does that is not risking much, most of the time. and so in the end the good one (in peterson`s eyes the good one) is just precisely the coward he is talking about. it shines through his whole talk. i am not judging on peterson`s spine, i don`t know him, but his philosophy is certainly advocating spineless behaviour. and i distrust his attitude strongly because if you have to scream like that how strong you are an moral, you probably are not, it s rather just narcissist behaviour, i m sorry.

    • @kittuojha
      @kittuojha 2 года назад

      @@user-oi3lt7nu8g interesting perspective. But peterson says that a dangerous person is not siding with power. He/she doesn't follow the herd. Although, when he says that weak can't be virtuous, I think he's wrong. Strong and weak are relative terms, not absolute. Hence, even a person trying to be strong may remain weak comparative to others, does that mean that that person can't be virtuous.

    • @user-oi3lt7nu8g
      @user-oi3lt7nu8g 2 года назад

      @@kittuojha thank you. i think he is preaching about independance etc but in the end he is admiring the military for their virtues and "strength" . in my mind that doesn`t fit together, it`s ridiculous. military is crap, one people against another is also crap. the culprit is always propaganda, as two people face to face usually wouldn`t have any interest in fighting but rather in trade.
      listening to peterson i think it`s difficult not to realise that he is an authoritarian character.
      i think you´re right that of course a weak person can be virtuous. it depends on where you start in life, your genes, your social background, country etc. you may stay in a weak position even though you have done all you can, that`s not necessarily your fault then.

    Nietzsche said some people don't hurt others not because they're moral but because they are cowards. See that's the fly in the ointment with Nietzsche. He has this idea that the ability to hurt someone makes you strong and courageous. The person who will hurt in the cruelest way is the coward. If he knows he can do it with no consequences there is no depth of cruelty he will not plumb trying to avenge his wounded soul.

      Like JP says in this video, the will to power advocated by Nietzsche has more to do with self mastery than applying force against others. It takes greater courage to not victimise others (despite posessing the ability). Such a man therefore does not rely on the threat of social consequences as a counterweight but is purely disciplined/principled enough not to abuse his power. This control he has over himself subsequently gives him an advantage over lifes circumstances and other weaker people.

      Hi Jose, People with "vast" vocabulary can basically find explanation for everything, they often contradict themselves and masses of slightly intellectually inferior listeners (I assume in this case young man) are awed by things like that. Peterson in this speech says that God allowed evil; in many other of his lectures he cries when talking about Jesus , who according to the bible was basically turning another cheek constantly (was it cowardice or his father's wish fulfillment ). For F...s sake all this pseudo science from From Dawkins, Hitchens, Harris, Peterson is nothing else but expose of their intellectual repertoire; self glorification. All this tough talk from super tough, very intelligent people is doing nothing but harm to the mind of the youngsters. Joe Rogan had Everlast on one of his podcasts some time ago. The musician said that his daughter is very sick and his mind is not in the place to go feel good and exercise and this moron stopped him abruptly and started quoting Jocko Willing. Am I the only one or is Rogan and the lot a self righteous prick. Rogan on one of his other podcast with Kevin Smith was crying when told the story of how he put his dog to sleep. It's pathetic.

    if you`re looking for a leader, which you should not, don`t take the one who is screaming into your face. who needs that? anyway, if there was a born leader (if that even exists) i assume he/she would not need to scream into your face to tell you what is right and wrong. a good leader is not divisive but rather integrating. that would be the best definition of a true leader. and there should be no need for an external foe, like in the discription. that´s actually very weak and not christian at all and has nothing to do with leadership. this ideology here is really undermining society. i am lucky i live on the other side of the ocean, here it`s a little bit better.

    Great speach about things already articulated by others before him, but there is one that undermines them all: this idiocy of praising those who wake up at 5:30 as machos, contrary to the most basic principles of the neuroscience of chronic sleep deprivation and its huge impact not only on health (including mental), but on discipline itself, which is regulated by the prefrontal cortex, i e precisely what sleep deprivation shuts down. Unforgiveable for a psychologist, sorry. I'd tell him to come down from hairy fairy stuff back down onto earth.

      Luisa Alexa, I think you missed something here, namely the fact that every person has his own rhythm of sleep, do you know when this man go to sleep? Maybe he sleeps enough?? How much science do you need to understand those kind of things? Who said that he sleeps less ?? The fact that someone has a degree in a domain doesn't mean that it is right what he says. Choose your words carefully, that's good rule. Think before you speak, before you write. Good luck 🤞

      A dangerous man is a man whose actions can affect a great number of people/lives at once. The more people are affected at once, the more dangerous the man. It has nothing to do with physical power or being loud and in your face.
