You know when i was younger i didn't understand why everyone was talking about HL. Years later when i first play HL1 Source i understood what they were talking about, it's a one way ticket trip. Once you experienced the game there's no going back literally... it's simply fascinating if you think the year the game was made. Something similar happened to me with Doom, Quake and Wolfenstein. I'm at 3:09:53 now and you just skipped a whole fight. You've done it before with the water bike and i wonder if that was to avoid confrontation to save ammo or it's only becuase it's imposible to avoid damage. It would be nice to see that parts as well just for curiosity. Oh and another thing: are you gonna do this kind of walkthrough for episode 2 as well?
At 3:40:38 you almost get hit by a rocket. What did you hit there? The ground? In that moment and some others before i was almost shaking from the possibility of taken damage from bullets, very good reflexes bro!
@@pabloricaud3369 i usually tend to skip unnecessary parts not only to avoid damage but to not lose time as well. these types of videos take a lot of my time and it can be really stressful sometimes, so it's nice to take a skip here and there whenever possible. Black Mesa on the other hand, i did the entire game without skipping a single part. you can find more information on the description of each video. and yes, I'm currently working on the Episode Two video (ep1 is already done on my channel), after the episodes i want to do both Opposing Force and Blue Shift.

That manhack at 29:10 has to be some sort of a glitch when you kill the cop "too early" just replayed the game as well and had the same thing happen. I was so confused as to where the hell the noise was coming from for a sec.
Also if you bind zoom to a button, like middle mouse, you can shoot while zoomed in. Makes pistol and magnum sniping easier and isn't considered a cheat by the game for Steam achievements.

Technically the game can't be beaten without taking damage (thanks Point Insertion) but this is still a fun game to do a no damage playthrough of. I remember playing this game and I managed to clear all of the chapters except for Water Hazard and Our Benefactors. Water Hazard is tough for... well lots of reasons. The armored cars with their automatic weapons, enemies with smgs having super-human accuracy, the dreaded chopper run, etc. I never beat Water Hazard without taking damage just because there is quite a lot of spots where you either have to be just perfect or super lucky to get by. Even when I saw how you got passed the armored car that was watching the tunnel that led to the second floodgate area, I try this strat and it's still super hard not to get shot. It's not like you can get through that area without the boat anyways due to the radiation tunnel. I was able to but out the chopper ai to where it just stood still, which was funny, and I managed to make it to that tunnel, but I didn't have a way to cross the radiation pools without taking damage. Our Benefactors was tough for one reason, outside the gravity gun being a bit slow when taking on groups of enemies. That reason is most definitely the elevator, I remember I was able to make it to where I could get on the elevator, but the enemies that were above me with their carbines made it impossible for me to not take damage, with them having a clear shot at me and no way for me to cover myself. Amazing run, wish I could have thought of some of this stuff.
Oh yeah, water hazard was definetly one of the most stressful chapters to do. the segment you mentioned about the radiation tunnel, i had to reset that so many times i was almost losing hope, but i knew it was possible, since i saw someone else doing it, so i just kept trying for about 2 hours straight lol. Thanks for watching the run!
Hey tadehack! I deleted my previous comment because yesterday I completed a hard difficulty ironman of this game! I was so happy and I got the recording of it too! Just gotta upload it. At the same time, it sucks that my mic was so low that you can barely hear the commentary that I did during the few parts of the game where I did talk. I did a test recording to check my mic and then the game got so loud that my commentary was almost impossible to hear. I figured you may want to see it, so I thought I would let you know I pulled it off! Yeah and I'll upload it to justagamer2020, the channel where I do post anything I record.

139 segments. i don't think it's possible to do it in a single segment. there's too much rng involving hitscan enemies, and there are lots of them in this game. more information in the description.
