💜 Thank you for watching my video: What will damage your clutch VS Normal driving | Manual car
00:00 Introduction
00:27 Strain on the clutch
01:15 Using too much gas when moving off
02:43 Hill starts
03:42 Reversing
04:57 Pressing the clutch while waiting
05:26 Moving slowly
06:09 What is riding the clutch?
The clutch is necessarily a wear and tear part but, driving with a bit of mechanical sympathy can minimise this. Which I'd define as , driving in such a way as to minimise avoidable wear and tear and maximise the lifespan of the individual components and the car as a whole. My friend sits in traffic and at red lights in gear with the clutch pinned to the floor for ages. Have tried to warn him how expensive clutch replacements are to no avail thus far.
Very well said. I think there's also a line between enjoying your car and worrying about damaging it even though you're doing what the car and its components are designed to tolerate.
Many thanks Sir 🙏🏾 Good lesson 👍🏾 😀
You are very welcome

02:50 "Steep Hill" lmfao.
Videos don't do a good job of showing how steep a hill is.
How would you correctly reverse bay parking that's on a incline without burning the clutch? (Backing up on a incline)
It's difficult. You just have to try and not do it for too long.
@@ZONDOdriving can you show how you would do it since it is difficult?
I am from the usa and I have my license and have been driving automatic vehicles. I have been trying to learn how to drive a manual car but I get scared of possibly burning the clutch and just messing up the car in general.
I think you hear a lot of people say you're going to burn the clutch even when doing normal things which the clutch was built for. As long as you don't put crazy amounts of strain on it, you should be fine.
I've a problem when it comes to feet control, during gear change , I find myself releasing the clutch very slowly and pressing the gas pedal all the way down , which has made me fail the driving test because the car gets jerky. How can I improve?
Hi. I have a learner who also has this issue. Sometimes it can help to talk yourself through the process. So say out loud, 'Off the gas, clutch down, change gear, off the clutch, back on the gas smoothly.' This way you force your body to actually do what you're thinking.
Thanks , I appreciate it. Your videos have helped me , I'll now use the trick while changing to subsequent gears , because that's where I have a problem.
So when it comes to releasing the clutch , I don't need to be extremely slow on it?
Unless setting off, cheating gear, starting or turning off the car. The clutch should be out
I have to use at least 2000 to 2500 rpm in order to move off or the car will stall
Really? What car is that?
@GoZondo I have a 2011 Nissan micra 1.2L petrol engine that has 79 BHP. if I want to move off at 1500 rpm then the car most likely stall, bit I can only use 1500 rpm if I'm holding the clutch for longer and move really slowly. In other cars I've driven like instructors can move at 1500 rpm
