JR Motorsports Announces New Driver for 2024

- JR Motorsports has tabbed current NASCAR Xfinity Series Playoff contender and two-time ARCA Menards Series East champion Sammy Smith as its newest driver. Beginning in 2024, Smith will command JRM’s iconic No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro in full-time NXS competition with partnership from Pilot Flying J, TMC Transportation and the Allstate Peterbilt Group.
Smith was joined by owners Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kelley Earnhardt Miller for his signing. Hear from him.

Any man would be lucky to have a sister so devoted to them. She’s like his mom in some way. She sacrificed her plans for him. Just amazing. Even for this cynic.

JRM is the elite team in Xfinity, for good reason, they find young talent that can grow with the team and grow the teams competitive efforts. All 4 cars are in the hunt weekly and the drivers y'all pick are respectful, highly motivated, and willing to learn as well as hone their craft. This team has 2 of the best assets there are in NASCAR. Dale Jr. and Kelly. A two person team formed in childhood through being there for each other when it really counted. That can not be beat. Good luck to you all, I've been a fan since "Jun Bug" , as I like to call him got started. When you announced the begining of JR Motorsports, I've been a rabid fan. C'mon 2024! Gonna be a great season. Let's go get a Championship! May God keep you Bless you all at JRM.

How many championships? JGR is the team to beat in xfinity. How many weeks have we seen 2 or more cars crashed out. Josh berry hasn’t lived up to his number 1 billing.

As many as they can, if it was easy, anyone can do it. JGR is formidable for sure. That's what keeps it interesting. Everything must be just right at the right moment or there will be no win. A whole lotta skill, a lill luck, and perfect timing, oh and let's not forget a mountain of hard work and a horde of good people. I think Josh has come a long way, so far. More to learn as he moves up. I don't recall anyone declaring him number one in the league, he has promise yes, but no one ever stated he's the best. And he is too humble to say that. He'll do alright for himself in cup next year. It would be unfair to say he should finish top 20, he might do it, but only time will tell. I wish him well as a JGR alumni. Enjoy the show.

I would bet the sponsor had more to do with this than anything else. They knew they had a good thing at JR Motorsports while they see that JGR always has trouble brewing somewhere. Michael might not have gotten along with the folks at JGR as well as JRM.
Very disappointed that it’s not Jeffrey Earnhardt. What a missed opportunity to cash in on nostalgia and the Earnhardt legacy….it what so many Jrm fans wanted

Racing is a world of money and Jeffrey couldn't find it. Hopefully it did bring them all closer together since they were trying to put together a deal.

This is so exciting. I have always cheered for the JRM drivers, but since my brother is the TMC pilot I’ve had to add Sammy and not a fan of JGR. I text my brother about his finish every week. I became a Justin fan after Sadler left (couldn’t cheer for anyone but him) so now I get Justin and Sammy together. Thanks

@@Coalblack79k10dale jr won 6 races in a season. He dominated the xfinity series in historic fashion for 2 years. Then he got a whole bunch of scary concussions.

Its down to sponsorship unfortunately. Sammy has the Pilot sponsorship and will bring it to the JRM team next season.

I love to see when mommy & daddy worked hard to get what they have and can give it to their family! The day my grandson graduated high school he became 49% owner of the business I had. Looks like if you would get off the internet and go make money, you could do the same... but the odds are, you will never be able to do things like that. It's easy though, if you ever want help, I'm here. It can be done with no money... several businesses you can start.
