Hello what if you get sued of a summon but your credit report don’t show anything? My chargeoff was in 11/2019. What do I do?
Hey John, it sounds as if the debt is still within the statute of limitations. Is it your debt? Have you asked for the creditor to validate the debt? What state are you in? Feel free to check out our free debt statute of limitations calculator.
What happens if they don’t show up to court after I have been served and I do owe the debt
Is there a time frame for how long they have after it was filed in court before im served? For example it was filed on january 5th, but I was served january 25th and court date is in 14 days on february 8th.
It depends on what state you live in I believe, but in CA, once the debt collection lawsuit is filed, they have about 30 days to serve you.
what about jurisdiction challenge?
Thanks, can you explain what you mean?
Hi if I already did a debt settlement with the company do I still need to file an answer to the court?
Great question - have they negotiated a stipulated judgment for this specific debt? Many debt settlement companies may not handle these well, so feel free to give us a call at 833-272-3631 and we can walk through it!

I have till 8/15/23 to go court I am very late, how can I deal with this?
Give us a call! There are a couple options. What you may want to do, may depend on how much debt you have, your income, what options to qualify for etc.

I answered the summons
Do I send midland a copy before or after I filed the paper?
Does it have to be signed by the court first ?
Thanks for the question! I can’t legally advise you unfortunately, but if you want to give us a call at 833-272-3631, I’d be happy to hear more about what’s going on and hopefully provide more information.
What if you didn't answer your debt but it's time for court
Then they may try to sue you and win and you would have to pay that debt or they may take more action such as garnishment or a lien.
I used to live in FL, sol is 5 years. Now indiana, sol 6 years. The debt is over 5 but not 6. I filed an answer, then slovin responded with a bunch of questions for me to answer. What do I do now? I only live on my va disability, I don't have money for this.
Hey! Are you trying to negotiate on a payment plan for the debt or what are you trying to do with the summons?
@AscendFinance I'm not trying to negotiate. Ithink the sol are part. I'm a disabled vet and can't work, all i have is my va money. I don't know what to do. I was in a really bad place last week when I got this stuff they want me to answer. I don't want a judgement but I don't know know what to do
Hmm so the only income you have is VA disability? Do you have any property? Because the next step is they may try to garnish wages (which they cannot do on VA) or put a lien on property but it sounds like they may not be able to.
@AscendFinance I can't work so that's all. I do have a mortgage, so they could put a lien in the house. Which I wouldn't want simply because it's just another thing to deal with down the road.
Agh okay, yeah that could be tricky. Have you considered bankruptcy?
