Back at North Ft. Hood in 1993, we had the National Boy Scout Jamboree and I was tasked with bringing a M1A1 and a Bradley out for a static display. After a bunch of crap talking between the crews, we did a race to the end of a field and back between the vehicles. The Bradley almost rolled over turning around at the far side of the field. Of course the M1 won, by a long shot. Only almost ran over a few hundred Scouts at the end, when we slid on the wet grass and slid a good 150 feet. Greatest recruitment event of all time.
The left tank is a STRV122A this can be seen as the tank is a leopard 2A6 without the PLSS system nor extra armour packet. The right tank is a STRF9040A this can be seen by the chassis of a cv90 and the 40 mil auto cannon, and no armour packet indicating the A model
This is almost as crazy as the swedish navy commander that went waterskiing behind his missileboat and another one after his motortorpedoboat in the 70-80's sometime. Or the air force people sleding behind a Viggen in the 80's. 😂
This is cool. We should ask DOD to have rank races too. We could have it related to training by re-building the engines. Make them rebuild each track they go too we different teams.
