First of all Well Done. I got the Hiking bug after I left the Army in 1979, Hike 1 The Pennine Way South to North 360 miles in 18 days. Hike 2 Pennine Way North to South 16 days. Hike 3 Coast to Coast (West to East) 180 miles in 10 days, Hike 4 C2C (East to West) 180 Mile in 10 days. One year off from Hiking then Hike 5 John OGroats to Lands End did not record milage and that took me 6 Months, walking for approx 10hrs per day. Hike 6 Lands End to John OGroats no milage recorded. Two years later I tackled the Clockwise Complete Coastline of the GB Mainland starting and ending at Lands End, unrecorded milage but think that was in excess of 5,000 miles. A two year break before going back to the reverse the previous Hike, the Mainland (Scotland England and Wales). Now retired and having plenty of time on my hands I Congratulater fellow Hikers like yourself while watching their RUclips Hikes, it passes my days before the Summer and no doubt the Hiking will continue. Good Luck for any future Hike you do. Tony in Essex (67 yrs old and still hiking)
I realised shortly into this, that I had watched it before, but it is so well done, so enjoyable and inspiring that I watched it all over again. Thank you so much...I hope you are well 🙏
That is so kind of you to say! I am really glad that you enjoy this video, means a lot to read your comment. I am doing really good thanks for asking, I hope all is well with you too!
This is so well produced! Congratulations on your success, I hope the algorithm is kind to you. There aren't enough quality uk-based hiking channels, and this deserves to be seen. This has to be one of the best hiking vlogs I've watched!
@@Coolhandluke-s1f yeah there are a few, but most are quite poor quality. Or they're mainly bushcrafters who dress like Rambo and use words like 'cordage' all the time.
Absolutely brilliant video. You stirred up a lot of emotion for me. I am beginning my backpacking adventures next spring. I love hiking & share our adventures on our channel. I’m 48 & feel regrets for not heading down this route earlier in my life. I too suffer with mental health (Army Veteran), and the outdoors do help massively (like you said, better that medication). I want to backpack to rediscover myself. You sir, have my utmost respect & congratulations for completing the epic journey you did.
I'm from India, unexpectedly saw ur video while I'm scrolling.. I have to say this bro u are not yet recognised and appreciated so far. But I'm impressed and u deserve more viewers.. Keep rocking I'm going to share your page to my friends waiting for your next video.
I lived just below stoodley pike, and the pennine way, for 12 yrs, where I brought up my boys, and would regularly take them up to the pike and along to Hebden bridge, I also walked the canal regularly from Todmorden to Hebden bridge. Still have friends theree and visit every couple yrs. I now live in Perthshire Scotland.
Hi Josh, thank you so much for this absolutely beautiful video. (This for sure deserves WAY more views. JUST SAYING!!) i lost my dad recently, he died from MND suddenly. He walked all the streets in Bristol! And logged his journey of which has been published in news articles. My dad also struggled with his mental health at times too, and found walking helped him a lot. Me and my mum find comfort in watching this video as it is a way of connecting with my dad, through you! As he loved walking too. The message about maybe not reaching the finish line, as it were, is also so true too. Such beauty encapsulated in this video regardless, and doesn’t matter! Keep going :)
Hi Megan, I am very sorry to hear about your dad passing. He sounds like a great man and a true adventurer! I am so glad that you and your mum could get something out of this video, that really means a lot to hear. I wish you and your family all the very best as you navigate these tough times. Keep going!
hello fella we’re nearly 60 & because my old friend became fairly immobilised because of spinal condition she began reading to escape constant tv in the long winter days & began with reading Free Country by George Mahood & plenty since. I really admire your effort because it’s inspiration for myself because before I die I must at least do Lands End to South Foreland & cannot think what is the longest distance I have walked in one day in my time since being 16 in 1980. Unless orienteering or hiking or charity is your thing I’d bet there’s millions like me whom haven’t walked further than 15 miles between sleeps. Incredible really & your walk is really incredible ! Thanks for this mush 😁👍🐢
Why are you not more popular. I will do my best to talk about this channel as much as possible from now on. Leaving you on my TV in my house I already can feel the energy absorbing. I feel more healthy minded and happy about the things I do. My father is a massive fan of adventure like this so I will be telling him about you and we might plan to do stuff like this next year together. Thank you very much for doing this. Please keep this up ❤ the way you smile at the camera when you're having moments of joy makes me actually smile at my TV like I'm watching my family ❤
Absolutely brilliant!!! Well shot, well voiced-over, well edited. Everything. Congrats. This trip for you was way more than a geographical destination, and you achieved it. I’m thankful your family - particularly your mom, was able to give you those moments of encouragement. I’m impressed and inspired. I’ve been attempting to convince my best friends to go with me on my next trip to England and hike somewhere. Hadrians wall, Yorkshire Dales, anywhere. I’m going to share your video to help inspire them. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. Best wishes.
Josh - you have filmed this so beautifully. I have walked many miles on many routes and I have also watched a ton of walking videos by adventurers such as yourself. Really, this production of yours has been cream of the crop material. I hope this really puts you on the map, where you deserve to be. To have your own back story incorporated into it, at the same time highlighting the nature of mental health as part of being a human being in this, the 21st Century, is the cherry on the cake. Well done, I salute you and hope you have many more adventures!
Josh, this is the most engaging, thought-provoking, soul-nourishing documentary I've watched in quite some time. My absorbtiom was all the more pronounced because with every frame, I was all too aware of the effort you put in to the production to enrich my viewing experience.... effort that inevitably made your journey more draining on your energy. This is a beautiful adventure that few humans will ever find the nerve, courage or will to undertake, and for that reason, you're a cut above. Congratulations. Thank you.
Brilliant video what a inspirational young man such a well made video the fact this doesn't have millions of views is shocking. C'mon guys get it shared
These videos of yours are so underrated! I hope it got more attention for you! Also looking forward to seeing more of your muay Thai and adventure videos!
I walked LEJOG seven years and watching this brought some great memories flooding back. What a brilliant video, and a great adventure you had! This is definitely the best LEJOG video I've watched.
I agree there’s nothing that beats the Countryside & RUclips & on grey miserable freezing cold December days in England it’s the only way to walk. to the kettle - every time he beds down ! 😁👍
I've absolutely LOVED watching this video and really sad it's coming to the end. Well done on producing a very professional and entertaining video. Also, thank you for showing us the beautiful landscape of England. Thank you. God bless you and your lovely family. 🙂
Awesome Vids , i found your chanel by mistake searching for something else and i find ur video with thai training! Passion , Quality , good vibes and i kind and smiley person! All the good things from Romania!
Seriously amazing content. I found you because I thought what if I walked across the UK and started doing research then wanted to see if anyone has done it and you sir have come up. I absolutely love the content and the personality that shines through and so open about mental health! This has inspired me to also walk across the UK, keep up the good work!
Hey Josh, thanks brother for the share and your positive mindset! I am going true some rough time and watching you staying so positive (most of the time :)) really cheers me up :) :) all the best to you from the Netherlands!
As a Yorkshire lass I love the way you say Yorkshire 😂1:56:38. So cute 🥰 I absolutely loved watching your adventure walking through beautiful England. 💚
Loving your travels, beautiful scenery, great commentary, love when you have met up with your family, your travels with others, the ancient ruins and gems you have found along the way.
The problem you`re having with your neck and back is I think down to you wearing your backpack wrong, It`s too loose you should tighten up the shoulder straps so your backpack is tight to your back with no space.
You're an amazing person, Josh. Prayers for great success and a larger audience for your adventures. Beware of producers that want to do it their way. YOU are the Man. Never forget. You've got enough quality footage to take a break and compile it into at least two seasons of episodes And a 2 hour motion picture. Don't sign anything until your lawyer says so. ❤ 🙏 🌎
Best hiking video I've seen to date. You are very inspiring, and I look forward to viewing more of your hiking journeys. Your family must be so proud of you. It was lovely to see them take part. Happy Trails!
Hi Josh. Well done on your backpacking trip. Great video. Something that I noticed is your pack was hanging off your back. An ill fitted pack could contribute to a lot of your pains, but you have a great pack there that can carry loads comfortably.
What a great adventure, I wish I could do this at the moment. Well done buddy! Very inspiring. You're a genuinely cool guy thanks for sharing it with me. ☺️
This was such an enjoyable watch, every minute of it, your enthusiasm is infectious, I love it! Thanks for the immense effort you must have put in to document this, it was all worthwhile. Your parents must be so proud too. Additionally the soundtrack is stunning! Please, please if you can, post the playlist for this film, it sounds like I need that music in my life. ❤
Came across this video from an instagram reel. Amazing stuff, thank you for sharing your adventure with us! I can't imagine how many shoots you had to do for the walking away shots tho - setting up camera and going back must have become second nature! Seriously tho, great video. Thank you!

Hi josh, planning to do lejog next week. Quick question, how did you find all these hidden gems just off the trail? would you research cool things in the area? Or was there an button on your map that shows cool things close to you? I'd love to know what you did !
I remember seeing this in April last year 10 Apr 2022. And wondered why there was less than 1000 views. But look at you now. Found you on insta reels spontaneously
Hi josh 😀 how are you? This is adventure lol! Sorry been away for awhile lol. Look at you now 11k subscribers 👏👏👏 congratulations. Im gonna be watching the past videos thou thats for xure 😆 Congratulations again josh👏
Thank you very much, Josh, for this splendid, interesting and so beautifully filmed and inspiring hiking video! I've watched a lot of hiking videos in the YT. Yours is so far the best one. I loved the realism of it, long and wet days are tough, with sore muscles and joints. However, the toughest hikes give the best memories, and the feeling of overcoming the problems is great and carries you through many tough situations in the life. The overall positiveness and enthusiasm of your video is charming. I wish you all the best and wonderful new adventures 👍💕 You got a new subscriber from the currently snowy and frosty Finland.
I absolutely enjoyed this actually very long movie. It was exciting from first minute to the end. I did long distance walks as well and I felt so much compassion in your tough situation. One thing I had wished to hear more about your inner self journey. Never mind great produced this video.. Be proud of yourself what you have accomplished. Well done 🧡🙏🏽♥️.. Love from Switzerland.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! I really appreciate the kind words and I am so glad that you enjoyed this video! Amazing to hear that you have done long hikes too! Thank you so much!

I've caught the hiking bug.
On your mental health, Good luck all the way with this.
My mental health was also the same reason I did my own.
I'd been deeply desiring something that I could claim I did and when I saw the Way of Saint James, I decided to that 6 days hike from Ferrol to Santiago de Compostella which was 111 km.
Last year I did the way again but this time I went from Reading to Southampton then A Coruna to Santiago de Compostella.
Both were deeply helpful my mental health giving me Identity and confidence in myself.
That is so wonderful to hear! That is a serious hike, really incredible that you did that and I am really happy to hear that it helped with your mental health. I feel the same way with hiking! I hope you can continue to do some awesome hikes!
It’s a thousand miles if you go from Lands end to John O’Groats. That’s the whole length of the UK.
Fantastic achievement to dig deep and keep going is not easy , but you didn't give up , I take my hat off to you . Great camera work as well 😊.
Thank you so much for your kind comment!
Well done, this was incredible to watch
What an amazing adventure josh, loved every minute of it. Your mom is lovely. You've inspired me to get off my fat a*s and try it myself.
Hi Josh. This was an excellent video. Thanks for sharing it. Am curious if there was a specific route you followed or did you make it as you went along? I want to do something similar but am curious about the best route to take and the rules about wild camping? Thanks for any input.

All the places you camp, are these park camp sites or can you camp just about anywhere you want in England?

Thank you so much! Glad you liked it 😁
This was amazing 🎉
Great adventure. Be careful camping under trees in high winds though.

Fantastic video thanks for sharing

Having walked some of your routes, Cornwall, Devon and Somerset are the nicest, though toughest places to walk.
toughest how?
You are what? 20 years old? How much could this walk have changed you? In any case, this is one of my dreams. To walk back home. 2000 miles. And I'm 41....but you know what? Nice video.
