Focus should be on having few people fighting effectively, with good equipment. Not on sending large number of people with poor equipment, letting them die and then compensating their lives with money. We should avoid deaths, and use the money to make their life better by investing in infrastructure, healthcare and education.

This is my view
I think agniveer should be there with additional benefits but apart from that i think there should be a parallel recruitment for people who want to join army after the age of 22 - 23 for 4 years or 5 years and they should not be given chance to serve whole tenure or a very short percentage of them should. This way a graduate who wants to explore or serve nation will have chance and will be back to regular life before 30. The reason why i said this is because a teen who is joining for agniveer is looking for life and the pool of those who just want to serve will be very minimal. On the other hand a 23 24 year old joining the force will have a pure motivation of serving the country. Plus they could get the benefit of understanding arms and be much more equipped with technical elements
Govt need to either bring heavy reform or roll back agniveer it is bleeding them politically, they have to do it next couple of months to control the damage
Gov must make it mandatory all doctors must write NEET PG every 5 yrs & all gov engineer must write similar screening tests to ensure minimum level of professional standards are maintained in country

Obviously, without full pensions & benefits of regular solider, no AV will want to face the enemy. In the regular Army, you can at least earn a salary enough to marry & raise a child. You will give AV a bank card. You will give him max 20,000 or 30,000 and cut it. If he can't make a living, he will join gangs or maoists or pak terror groups. Why can't he? I feel sad. I fought when there was terrorism in punjab. Our biggest priority there was to make sure our fearsome, trained ex-servicemen don't go to the other side. We should learn from the lessons in our recent history. Why are we fingering an institution which is working so well? We have the biggest youth population in the World, who are desperately looking for work in the country, but you are cutting jobs in the Army, when we need to increase the jobs to adequately counter the threats from our activated borders. Sir, you are reducing jobs at such a time?
Para commando boys are the best, but this is the new trend. How many numbers of Para commando do we really have? Wherever there is a battle, we should send commandos, to keep them sharp and ready. They do killer damage to the other side. They are so highly-trained. Our normal boys should be as competitive too. You need 3 years to turn into a solider. They will now, have to learn in battle, as you have also cut their training period. When the new recruits get quickly hit by the enemy, the rest will learn quick. I think it's good if a village boy wants to make his career in the army. You want to finish the long tradition of Army families in Punjab, Haryana, in many parts of UP. Do you understand this? Why don't you want the youth to come into the army? Youth who are desperate have no choice, but you won't get that quality, which the army needs, if paramilitary gives better opportunities. Army will only get the 4th rate leftovers. My practical suggestion, is to please, quickly increase the AV job duration and retentions from current level.

I was in Ammunition directorate. I had just returned from fighting in Kargil, I told him. Sir, what is going on here? Pioneer Co's job was to transport the wounded, but Pioneer Co was disbanded. Our platoons are going to fight the enemy or transport their wounded. Mule GS was disbanded. Mule MA was also disbanded.
How will ration & drinking water be transported to our fighters? How will ammunition be sent to the high altitudes? Everything disbanded. When Mallik Sahab, himself went there. He saw that our wounded boys were in so much pain. He demanded why the evacuation of the wounded, were waiting to happen. They responded, that how could it be done since there was no one left to carry out evacuations. When you cut, during peacetimes. Troops suffer, during wartime. I praise the fact, Mallik Sahab, immediately accepted that serious mistakes were done, now we have seen the results on the ground, & he cancelled the earlier orders for disbandment. They got everyone back from the Pioneer Co, who had been relieved and sent home. Army doesn't run on political slogans. These people need to have humility. They are so arrogant. They teach me? Friend, sometimes try to listen to what the old folks say too.

Insurance payment can't be considered any govt benefit. Both payments are insurance one from SBI and another sainik group insurance. Father of the shaheed clearly said that the sainik group insurance payment was made yesterday, means after Rahul raised the issue. It is clear that Rajnath Singh lied on the floor of the house. No compensation was given by the govt. This cheating our proud martiers and their families. He must resign or must be expelled from the parliament. If army pays for the insurance, it is compensation. Who writes the cheques doesn’t matter, if it is not the agniveer who has to pay for it. These have been part of package computations for so long in private sector, how are you not aware of this? Stop creating conspiracy theories, every govt dept is slow. This should be verifiable and has been confirmed by the family, and if you are not happy about it don’t join as agniveer.

Employee is accepting the insurance cost in his salary. It is just not reflected in their salary. And insurance varies with gold plan silver plan which employee can upgrade too based on their needs.

Fun fact they have had this insurance for the last 25 years. 😊 . My father is in State service and he has Medical insurance fully paid by the state gov. in case of death during service since 1995. Next of Kin payments are always insurance instruments - the premium is paid by Govt and the amount returned is set as per Govt rates. Only Salary component comes from the Govt account for even Officers!
@@iaf010 That's 48 Lacs. The other component of 50 Lacs has been paid by the bank which is also an insurance from the Bank. You know how much a regular Sainik gets ? And the state gov of Punjab have given 1cr. to the family. That is what should be called compensation. The thing which you are referring to as Ex-gratia is a legal requirement as per Military service rules. The Ex-Gratia component should be the payment other than the insurance. I knew very well that Gappu brigade doesn't understand the meaning of Ex-gratia but would come to bark. The ex-gratia amount would be the 67 Lac which the family is yet to receive.
