Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday accused Defence Minister Rajnath Singh of lying in Parliament about compensation to families of "martyr" Agniveers and demanded an apology. Gandhi shared a video on X featuring the father of a deceased Agniveer, who claimed that despite Singh's assertion that Rs 1 crore compensation was provided, his family received no such assistance.

Why one has to die to get the facility and compensation. If one serves the country with bravery and honesty and retires respectfully. Why that one could not be considered for the descent compensation and pension for their service. Youth doesn't join army to die. They join to serve and live with dignity.
