    • @manadoria
      @manadoria 4 года назад

      If we are discussing momentum, then it is important to understand the definition of momentum: mv, where m = mass and v = velocity. You are correct in stating that having less mass reduces momentum; however, velocity is as significant a factor.
      It should be quite clear that to accelerate an object of lesser mass at the same rate as an object with greater mass requires less force, so this implies that if the same force was used for each weapon, then the acceleration must have been greater for the weapon of lesser mass. Thus, the velocity of the weapon with lesser mass was greater prior to impact, which varies directly with momentum as stated above.
      Assuming by power you are referring to energy, then the statement that the weapon with greater mass had more energy is slightly flawed. In the aforementioned, I argued how the velocity of the weapon with less mass is greater with the same amount of force applied. Because kinetic energy is defined as mv^2, we see that velocity has a greater contribution to the value of energy, relative to momentum. So, the energy involved would be considerably greater for the weapon with less mass.
      I believe your intuition was leading you in the right direction. You will probably want to explore the concept of inertia, because that would be a more "correct" avenue to explore.

    for me Logan should have been the winner! Keith's kono twists during the swings because its too light. yes its sharp but look at the slo-mos it hits the targets twisting before it lands. Good thing its sharp, coz it would have slid on the target's surface and injured the wielder's arm, or someone else.

  • @ccpederson1769

    In every case , when the weapon is lighter, and still holds it's sharpness, plus there's no warp, or broken handle its as always a winner, I know when there is a artistic flare too, it's as perfect as can be perfect , the judges had a difficult time making a decision on this one or maybe not. One thing for sure, both was winners today.
    In real life, when in battle for a hour or more, when your opponents is wearing armour, whether its raw hide or brass or both how well these weapons will last, I believe the test should last longer. That will separate the men from the boys . Remember battles back in the day always last longer.

    • @Phatchanz
      @Phatchanz 4 года назад +5

      The reason for having the sharpness last, is that the blades need to endure the strength. If they still are sharp after that, it shows the craftsmanship

    • @ManiacMageetheG
      @ManiacMageetheG 4 года назад +1

      I think the orders perfect. The kill test is basically a gimme round to showcase the weapon. The strength test pushes it's limits and then the sharpness test shows if after all that the weapon can still perform top notch.
