As someone who’s been a fan of this franchise sense late 2014, it feels super surreal that it’s finally happening. I was in 5th grade when the movie was announced back in 2015 and I’ve been out of school for almost a year, feels super weird.

@@Dani-hd9xq welp there’s a lot that happened, originally Warner Brothers was producing it before it was given to blumhouse, also there were MANY unused scripts gone through before they landed on this one. There’s a lot more but there was a lot that caused this movie to be delayed. But hey, at least it’s finally going to happen this year!

Two things make me super hopeful about this. 1) the amount of times they redid the script, making me hope it has to be really good, and 2) Josh Hutcherson is an incredible actor, and would love to see him in a big movie again
THIS, his range is underrated and can see him(and all involved) giving us a solid/emotional performance for sure. Whatever happens, i can happily say im very interested in this movie.
Multiple rewrites of a script are never a good sign.

I think that the movie might play out a couple of nights, then having the 5th night be the one where everyone needs to escape. Because also in the synopsis, it says Mike thought the jobs was easy, meaning he went and thought “nice this is so chill”. I also think Mike will have trouble will law in his sister’s custody, since there are Social workers casted in the movie. Probably because he has no money, but also because of the mall incident. Still excited to see how this ends up tho!!
The leaked descriptions also mentions Vanessa showing up “during one of his shifts” and Mike wanting to dig for answers even if it has disastrous consequences, which makes me think he goes back.
Keep in mind the reason Freddy and the gang are trying to kill Mike in the games is that he looks like his father William and they think it is William. Maybe he takes the job reluctantly because “his father worked there” but they don't reveal that William is his dad until later.

I used to joke about the FNaF film and it's development hell. But now that the film is on the horizon I can't wait, I've fallen back into the FNaF rabbit hole and I can't believe this film is almost here. I grew up with the original games and I can't believe the film is almost here after nearly a decade.

My big issue is that it makes it sound like this will all be one night. Which I dislike as I would prefer it to be 5. But I can see why they might do it.
The big thing interesting to me is that they are still adapting William not only being one of the people to kickstart the Fazbear brand itself, but they specify 'Co-Founder'. Implying Henry indeed exists in the movieverse.
No cus I agree i would also prefer it to be five instead of one, but again we’ll have to wait and see and maybe it’ll be really good I still have a good feeling about this :)
I honestly think that it will not be a single night as some here comment. I think that it will be five nights, only that the first nights will be calmer and as they pass, more mysteries and everything will intensify until the last night (where all the horror will happen).

Im so excited to see Matthew as William. I've been in the fandom since 2014, and still remember when it first got announced. I wonder if they do all five nights, would the movie be a little over two hours because they have to add the history of Freddy's and William. Still holding out for Springlock/Bite of 83 and 87 moments, and maybe stuffing kids in the suits too but who knows?
I’ve been thinking, what if they start the movie in the perspective of a child getting lured into the backroom? Or even through a news story of the murders. I feel like we won’t see any of that until Vanessa explains the “dark secrets” but man that would be a TERRIFYING opening!
I think a good way to open it would be the bite of 83

From this synopsis it seems like William will mainly just be in flashbacks or the past, possibly dead or missing by the time of the movie. And since we know Mike is desperate, maybe he just decided he had no other option and it didn’t matter since his father is “gone”.
5:46 This is also a detail from the FNAF novel trilogy. The animatronics are sympathetic towards children, as well as *Spoiler Warning*
Their friends. In the first book, a kid gets killed and possesses an animatronic. The kid, however, named Michael, still attacks most adults, but not his childhood friends who have since grown into adults. This could be a way in the movie to make the animatronics act peaceful toward Mike, by working them in as his childhood friends, or they could not do that at all
Definitely has story potential for the movie
like how in the silver eyes foxy thinks jason is in danger of the others and takes him to pirate cove to "protect" him cuz that could actually be why

Hopefully this movie succeeds so they make a franchise based off of the games, this plot seems new and different but still has the same structural plot, which I love about live action remakes

This looks very different from the plot synopsis I read back in 2020 on a survey. That synopsis informed me that the movie would be about Mike trying to find his younger brother at the restaurant! This looks even better! I am really looking forward to seeing who Mary Stuart Masterson is playing now!
And by find his brother, what I meant was he is trying to figure out the truth of what happened to his younger brother. Sounded more like a FNaF 4 sequel.
That could've been the old script there been a bunch before Scott landed with Blum house
@@jboy11123 This was around the time they were supposed to film in Spring of 2021. So I think I read an old synopsis for what the original Mike screenplay was about.
At first I thought she would be a mean boss trying to cover up the murders but now I think she’s a cps lady trying to take Abby away.

I think having a child and adult as the main characters fits the demographic of kids still into it and adults who were in middle to high school when it came out

I think it’s pretty cool that we get to see three characters working together since I don’t think we ever had something like that in any of the Fnaf games. Also Chris, when you mentioned that Freddy could be protecting Abby, it reminds me of Fnaf Security Breach when Glamrock Freddy protects Gregory

It really seems like its gonna be a plottwist that Abby and Mike are related to William OR only Michael knows but maybe William isnt part of the company anymore or like you said he thought its run dowm so Mike thought it was fine

For those that don't know, the reason that Michael keeps returning to the building despite the danger is because he is undead, and he feels obligated to free the souls of the children possessing the animatronics.

Usually, Night 1 is much more normal, less paranormal activity but after that night, much more action goes down, so it could be 2 nights.

I personally believe that Vanessa is a completely different character to who we see in Security Breach. It wouldn't be the first time a character has the same name as another in the series. 3 different Jeremys appeared. 2 Different Fritzs appeared (one of which we know is Mike in FNAF 2).
So yeah. Most likely different character. Either way though, super hyped for this film!

I've been a fnaf fan for years I remember the day that WB took control of the film seeing all the delays and problems I almost lost hope on the film but now after 9 years of waiting it finally happening I'm 22 now and I cant wait for this to come out in theaters wearing my fnaf t-shirt I still kept, Scott Cawthon may be retired but I thank him for creating a game I loved playing and learning about the history I wish I could shake his hand and tell him you did an amazing job.

It can still be the first draft, or a few changes could have happened since this was written... but I like it!

I feel like they could have pulled off 5 nights.
Night 1 weird noises to set the horror stage and maybe they notice it appears one may have shifted or moved over night. They think it was maybe a power surge so don’t concern themselves much.
Night 2 Abby notices more and even believes she sees one of the animatronics move clearly after some scary scenes with the the characters creeping on Mike through the window while he falls asleep Abby wakes him up telling him what she saw and like all older brothers he tells her she’s imagining it.
Night 3 Freddy makes contact and interacts with Abby. She comes to trust him and walks with him through the pizzaria. Mike catches her just before dawn at the stage and questions what she’s doing.
Night 4 is similar this time however the Mike sees something he can’t explain and truly believes Abby. He calls the cops and Vanessa agrees to meet them at the start of night 5
Night 5 Shit goes crazy. We get crazy jump scare followed by flashbacks from Vanessa about the restaurants history. Craziness ensues! They survive and bail however we have to have some sort of post credit with Springtrap
That will never work as a movie without boring the audience to death.

When RE8 was being developed I came across a twitter page that was going to spoil the plot only if you asked for it and he/she would send the info to your DM’s and at first I didn’t think the person who was running the twitter was telling the truth until I got the game on release day and he was spot on
Kinda concerned Vanessa’s only purpose is going to be exposition & maybe get a last kill shot. Curious though how they are gonna spin it now that mike has his sister on board. If Mike is an Afton in this version, will Freddy & Friends be able to tell? Will they try to protect Abby from the one trying to protect her from them (and the world at large)? It gives reason to why they may attack him. If the place is so run down, maybe Vanessa shows up not knowing they have a security guard & just thinks someone broke in for social media fame (like youtube vids where people spend a night in haunted locations for views) and wants them out because of the history, or maybe she thinks Afton isnt “gone” after all & has returned & she wants to stop him. Oh man just off the top of my head but so many questions and ideas are popping in, I can’t wait to find out, esp how they handle 5 nights when this sounds like a one night deal, I mean Mike can’t get paid if he doesnt last the week & probably need the money & maybe the first two nights are Abby centric- making friends & mike doesnt notice till weird stuff happens night 3 & on.

If it actually does take place over the span of five whole nights; it could be like Jackie Brown, The Hateful Eight, or Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, where it gets more intense later in the movie or at the end

if they're going with the five nights haunting, i would guess it'll be a slow-paced haunting, like the first two nights mike and his sister notices a few strange things, and then things get scarier as they go through the nights, and then the final stand would happen at the fifth night
I'm excited for the plot of fnaf and I can't wait to see this movie plus I like the details!

In the 1st game nothing happens on the first night. They should have the first night be a breeze until the very end right before 5 am something BIG happens and then Mike realizes something’s going on. Maybe have him see foxy or something sneaking up on Abby from the cameras and when he rushes to help her foxy’s just staring at her or gone maybe. Then he can’t just quit because he doesn’t quite know what happened so then he goes back for night 2 and after that he just does what he can to stop it from the outside during those moments he’s not in the pizzeria. I believe they can make 5 different nights work. It would do wonders for the runtime and maybe even give it a slow burn feeling.

I hope in the movie Mike lets Abby just hang out around the arcade or something then when phone guy says “the animatronics do get a bit quirky at night” Mike runs and finds Abby and has to save her from Bonnie.

There already is a trilogy planned, if this first movie does well anyway. It probably will though, it's got franchise appeal to back it up even if it ends up being mid.

Like most paranormal movies they can start with the first few nights showing little things that kind of creeped you out but you're not sure even if it's really happening or just the kids sees it then it hits the fan on the last night
