Q factor from an audio perspective widens or narrows the width of the curve from its centre frequency. So other frequencies on either side are affected.
I kind of figured it was a “multiplier” of sorts, but I didn’t want to assume without having something from granite themselves. I’ve played with it a little, and when you start turning the Q Factor up things get weird. Especially if you leave the attenuation on infinite (notch filter) 😂 be very careful if you decide to mess with it.
Hello! This is really interesting! good job! Just one thing, the game recording is kinda laggy.. I would assume it's from your GPU, I just wanted to let you know. Keep up the good work!
@@simxcenter Yes, they are compatible and have a separate usb cable. The same goes for the gear lever. Cool, I'll save quite a bit of money on a shifter and pedals. H-shifter I like it and the pedals at least at this stage are not bad, T-Lcm.
Ya they will still run on their own software, alongside true drive. GSI’s software is used every now and again, but it’s not required to run full time. I run with Heusinkveld pedals on their own software. Depending on how far you are from your PC, you may need a usb extension, but I would recommend getting a powered hub. The GSI with the screen almost requires a powered hub.
@@simxcenter That's not a problem because I'm an arm's length away from him. I have another question... since I also have a PS5... can this all connect and work with it via drivehub? Otherwise, I have a T300GT for her
They do not have native support on any console, however I’ve seen things on Reddit, where people have got them working. It requires some third party software that I know absolutely nothing about unfortunately. Check Reddit for more details
I’ve ran it off a powered usb hub for close to 2 years. In the instructions it says to plug it directly into your PC usb. I had a spare extension so I plugged it into my pc now. I feel no difference, so I’d say it’s safe.
You know I’ve been looking for an excuse to try rFactor, and you just gave me one. In the meantime, I can answer in specific questions you might have! Every sim is different, and every car is different. I can give general guidelines to help you learn how to tune more effectively. Even I’ve learned a lot since this video, and plan on making an update soon.
@simxcenter I have a question regarding irffb. I used it on a belt driven wheel before getting the SC2. I didn't think I would need it thereafter. However, I tried it and felt much more of what the tyres and suspension were doing. Yes, it added a little latency, but the difference was remarkable. I'm now trying to get the same feel without using irffb but finding it difficult. I can't feel the weight in turns as much. Difficult to explain. Using irffb, I seem to be able to sense the rubber on tyres more. 🤷🏾♂️
Ah yes, that’s one of the most important updates that I’ve learned since posting this! I’ll be posting an update to this video soon, but for now I have a few things you can try. I’ve never used irFFB before, but I know how to achieve the desired effect. The best thing to try first, is to lower the slew rate, a lot. Take it down to under 1, try .9 and see how it feels. Raise it until you get a good balance of torque spikes to smoothness. If the wheel still feels too busy, and you’re unable to feel the tires as much as you want, raise the wheel damper in the fine tuning selection. Raise in game max force if need be, and make sure you keep friction/inertia low in the main tuning section. Just enough to dampen oscillations.
I tried irFFB, and found it unnecessary with the simucube. The FFB is definitely smoother/less aggressive, but that can be somewhat replicated with the reconstruction filter. It’s all personal preference at the end of the day, but I won’t be using it again.
Guys I don’t have any issues with audio on my end. Everything is pretty loud even at low volume. Do you mind changing the quality setting on your end and seeing if it changes anything? Sorry for the late reply
@@simxcenter I use the highest settings possible. I checked it out on my phone and the audio is also low. On my computer, if I turn up the volume to +20db using voice meter banana it is closer in audio to other videos on YT. YT member since 2006.
I was actually looking into this or the moza fsr wheel and r9 base which is 9mm torque. Anyways ya ur gameplay was laggy but I think u Kno already. Good review tho bud
Great video, looking forward to working on my setup tonight, thank you

@simxcenter Yes, again, from an audio perspective, turning the Q Factor up, sharpens the curve. I don't fiddle with it.
Great video 👍🏾👏🏾🙏🏾

Hello! Can I use the base and steering wheel with thrustmaster pedals?
Are thrustmaster pedals compatible with pc? I’m pretty sure they are, so yes they will work

Love this video can you please do 1 for F1 2023, thanks!!
Still tweaking my FFB, but I’ll be doing one soon!
@@simxcenter Right on thanks!!
Did you need a powered usb adapter for the wheel

honestly just depends. some mobo's are better than other at powering accessories. i'd say you should have one just in case.
Dous this also works fpr raceroom and Acc?
each sim is going to be different

You need to increase your audio by at least 20db
30db 😉

I have the r9 and I’m looking to upgrade, if you looking for the best performance I would just go ahead with this or asetek’s new lineup
to add to the lagg your sound was also too quiet. just fyi.
