*This battery reconditioning program exceeded my presumptions. It worked on any drill battery, several AA and AAA batteries, **batery.repair** and any camera battery. The steps are simple and the act itself is exciting to do. No matter what type of battery you`ve got, it is sure to function again!*

This only works if you battery is "asleep" putting it in the freezer forces the cells to go into sleep mode.. However if one of those 6 battery cells inside are defective, it wont fix your overall problem. Typically lithium ion cells only have a chemically reliable composition for a maximum of 6 years. Also each slot on your charger is only designed for a max 5V per channel... and that battery you are using is connected in series so probably 18.8v... a charger like that with a 5V ouput per battery channel and 500ma (max of 2amps total for all four channels) is not enough amperage to really kick start the battery you are working on (which usually have a rating of around between 4 to 5 amps average output per cell (in laptops anyway)The only reason this works for you is because the freezer probably made the cells dip so low in charge that they had a maximum charge of say 12v.. Most dead laptop batteries typically have an internal short or due to overheating suspend themselves . Best thing to do is take each cell out test the capacity rating of each find the weak capacity battery, if there isnt one then use a balancer. But for folks who cant be bothered opening the laptop battery (which is all spot welded together in series) this method might work ok! This explains why however in Canada here our winters are so bad that anyone who leaves their batteries in their truck below -5 degrees Celsius it goes into "sleep mode" and contractors dont have the time to bother with batteries so they end up throwing away perfectly good battery packs at the battery recycling station. Also the BMS chip inside doesnt balance the cells well because the companies that make them (theres only really 3 power tool companies to be honest) want you to pitch them and buy new as thats how they keep people consuming. Often the chip is to blame and the cells (if theyre made by samsung or sanyo like in the dewalt brands) are completely fine... its just a ruse to get you to buy more stuff....

In my case, my laptop was charging about 20% of total capacity and bios was sending errors. It was because the AC adapter wasn't original and wasn't able to charge it properly. I bought an original ac adapter and after some days plugged, the battery returned to normal, charging to about 70% original capacity. (it have about 7 years).

Perfect solution to kick start my totally flat laptop battery which had been in storage for five plus years. The hardest part was identifying which pins were positive and which were negative. Google wasn’t very helpful, manufacturers are not forthcoming with this info.

@Garage Maxed Out Laptop at first reported 0% charge from the battery, Then unplugging the battery and putting it back in the laptop reports 100% charge. Yet when trying to run on the battery, the laptop loses power when I unplug the power. The battery doesn't work.
Is there some way to kick-start the battery or trick the laptop into thinking it needs to charge the battery?

In actuality you need specialised hardware (i.e. EV2300/EV2400) with software (Smart Battery Workshop or Battery EEPROM Works) to really reset a laptop battery. Specifically you need to reset the BQXXXX IC that is located on the PCB board - to which the 3 pairs of 18650 cells are connected to. 😑😕😒
I have an assembled/saved playlist with videos on this topic on my channel.

Hi. Thank you for a good idea(information) of how to fix old laptop battery. My feedback to you is about the production recording: I waited to see what /which pin gap in battery you were going to attach the wire from charger to. The critical image I was waiting was covered by your back of your hand. I was expecting it going to be a close up. It is a good 'infotainment' channel. My suggestion for your next videos is, more close up images of subject matter, not the room wall and your hand. Looking forward for your next video. Cheers
