I LOVE how responsible/respectful you guys are - not buying out the general store and leaving the locals without supplies, and not wanting to wreck the roads for the locals. I wish there were more people like you guys. Keep up the good work! Kerryn
Our best bog was pre-caravan when we hired a motorhome and got it stuck at a rest area with zero reception and no recovery gear. Another couple who were there very kindly drove 10 km up the road to get reception and called for a recovery truck. They then drove 10 km back to us to tell us help was on the way, and stayed until they arrived. The recovery guy had put his own 4x4 on the back of the truck and had us out in seconds with an elastic snatch strap. Moral of story - always help others because one day you will need that help yourself!
Oh wow. We plan our travels much the same as you do😊. Gravel pits are definitely the go to for overnighters. Many discussions also as we both look at Wiki and decide which way to go and what to see. Your consideration to the locals and the communities that you travel through is awesome, its a pity there weren't more people with the similar mindset Once again a great vid of real life travels😊 and an awesome family 😊
Great perspective!👍🏻 One of my favourite photos is of our daughters playing on a rock pile at a gravel pit , east of port headland . Framed it hangs lovingly on the wall at home flanked by photos taken at Karijini. Vastly different backgrounds but the memories are just as sweet👍🏻
Yep living on the road full time has its challenges alright, I think the rain for more than a few days starts to do my head in. Most other things you just adjust to like you said. Cheers Judy
I’ve spent plenty of nights in gravel pits. Funniest was waking up under the awning on the Cruiser just in time to see a cow lick my mate’s face whilst asleep. I think he ran about 2 kays before he stopped. Still laughing 10 years later. 😊😂
You mentioned your PLB in this video. I notice it is no longer sitting on the grab handle on the drivers side (or at least in this old video). Do you now keep it in a different location?
Hi from New Zealand. traveling life Is interesting and it stops you getting bored. Have in your travels come across New Zealanders traveling full time in Australia and do they have a YT shows to watch. When do we get to see the video shows at McCormacks of your LC 76 build. Keep the happy travels going. Thanks again Jono P
Hey Jono. Thanks, mate. We've met a few Kiwis, but none doing YT I can think of. Build videos of the 76 at McCormack's will be out in the next couple of weeks 👌
Just be wary parking in a gravel pit u might get a knock at 6am in the morning if you park in front off the gravel pile , a front end loader and a tipper truck could show up 😮😬and if that happens alot the councils could put no camping signs up , we all don't want that to ever happen ay

Thanks so much. We think it's important to show all sides of travelling, especially when it's challenging.
Great perspective!👍🏻

That is awesome!
Reluctantly bought a generator for prolonged wet weather and it has been a life saver. Still hate using it but sometimes there is no alternative
Great video ,very interesting to see the up’s & down’s of Van Life, which I never thought of. Wishing you better days ahead,Elaine from Brisbane.
Glad you enjoyed it

Thanks, Judy. It can be a drag when the weather doesn't play ball but it's all part of it.

Thanks... I think 🤔 🤷♂️
Like ur channel guys keep up the great work planning on doing the same in the 2 heats any tips other than. Ur vids would be great
Thanks so much! You'll love it.
Some of our best camps have been gravel pits or areas off the rd. Definitely eye of the beholder. The sticky black soil is fun NOT! 😂.
Same with us! Some people can't believe where we've spent a few days.
You mentioned your PLB in this video. I notice it is no longer sitting on the grab handle on the drivers side (or at least in this old video). Do you now keep it in a different location?
You're very observant 😉 We put it in our backpack for the Carnarvon hikes and hadn't put it back yet 👍
great Vid... not long to the get together....
Thanks. Can't wait!
Great vidoe! Is there an app which helps in finding gravel pits. It would help with planning. Bruce.
Thanks. Yes, Wikicamps is what you want
The older 76 series has a seat belt alarm if not engaged while driving, unsure about current models.
I'm sure I will be able to disconnect it 😂👍

I worked 12 years in Australia post That was years ago gee nothing's changed , sorry it has changed its got worse 😅
Should just duck up to Emerald for a restock
We thought about it, but it's a 3-hour round trip

I think it's pretty unlikely. It's not a big issue if it happens, either.
Hi guys 😊. Just wondering where the roadhouse was that you were bogged, please? It looks familiar 😊
It was Bauhunia on the Dawson Hwy
Thank you. I told hubby that’s where I thought it was. We’d bought fuel and two pine lime splices from there on our way through 💚💚
Its been a little while since I have watched one of your vids, but my question is 'what happened to the ZONE"?
We sold it earlier this year and bought a Titanium 👍
How old is this video there all over the place
This was from a few weeks back.
👍👍
