You have to wonder how it's possible that between McNeill, Weller, Lexine, Howell, and Vincent that there were still so many Necromorphs when Isaac finally showed up. They must have killed over 1/4 of the crew defending the shuttle alone.
According to Kendra Daniels from Dead Space, "with a thousand people on board you'd think someone would pick-up the phone". Meaning the Ishimura had a crew of 1,000. But, if you go and look at the official wiki page, you get this. 1,332 in total, 307 being *colonial*. So when you ignore the 307 people on the colony, you get a 1,025 person crew aboard the Ishimura.
One thing I noticed after they got to the Ishimura is that some of the characters visit a few locations that Isaac Clarke will go through, its pretty cool to see those locations again return in the second game. I really love all the effort put into the Dead Space universe( go read the books)

No, that was a hallucination. Or a nightmare, something influenced by the marker. Because if you play the dlc mission for Dead Space 2. You actually play as Gabe Weller, whom during the events of Dead Space 2, is married to Lexine. He's trying to find her on the Sprawl, during the initial outbreak on the Sprawl.
Dead Space universe has so much potential! This game even though being just on rails shooter had me instantly attatched to characters and glued to the screen. The dialogue and the reactions are written perfectly and believably. This only proves Dead Space 4 or reboot of the series is going to be awesome.

@@vinhtiennguyen9876 well... I personally still have hope - for example, when THQ bankrupted, it seemed like we would not get another Darksiders game and yet we did! Well... not the best Darksiders, but still!
Darksider 3 exist because many of the original developers and staff of the Darksider series continue to work with the game in a new studio, Gunfire Games with the help of the new THQ Nordic which has the license. Unfortunately the maker of Dead Space, Viceral Game is gone and the original developers are either gone or shuffled around and you know how EA has a habit of destroying studios and franchise.
Nice Dead Space side-story. It was frustrating that the player couldn't bother targeting the limbs but kept mostly shooting their chest area and heads. Probably missed the memo.
There is no memo. They don't know. They're just crew members going nuts and killing each other and themselves. In Dead Space your first time without knowing anything going in you have to be told that severing their limbs is the only effective way to stop a necromorph
@@Beanie-Sandals the thing is there was an audio log or part of the script at the very beginning of the outbreak that said sever the limbs and they still choose to ignore that. so yeah they did completely missed the memo.

The baby ones especially are some of the easiest to take down as long as you shoot them in the right place.

Yes. The first Dead Space was founded on the circumstances of trying to restore/revive the relationship between two (i.e. Isaac/Nicole) individuals. An allusion. Much like the work you'll see in Silent Hill as well as filmography by Dario Argento and George A. Romero. The "hell" is hard to see initially. Subtle inferences can be made when characters keep reassuring Isaac that he will find Nicole (false hope) even when everything around you says otherwise--you hold on to the notion that there is still a chance to make things work. Isaac descends further into madness, endangering himself, on the grounds of false hope and believing in his dreams over letting go and accepting the Space for what it is. Dead.

Speaking of which, delusions can stretch so far as to make you feel. Two possible methods. Your mind is conjuring up the extreme pain, while even though physically there is no actual harm, the mind makes it real and the overall stress can lead to health problems. The second possibility is harm is being done to the hallucinating person either by themself or an external source and the mind is fabricating details to match the harm inflicted. Both are pretty fucked up, but mental fabrication is not true 'reality'. The mind is an incredibley interesting device, able to control pain, temperature, minor health restoration (placebo effect) and as well as something I learned a while ago, able to change properties of certain substances not part of the body.
now imagine using dead space remake's assets to remake this as a full expansion to dead space remake, along with co - op between McNeil and Weller. change the cannon shooter bits to be a bit more polished, and add special suits like Weller's Severed suit
All I've got to say is that everyone you play as in this game has more balls than even Isaac to willingly go into the vents with little to no hesitation XD
The last hour was so drawn out. Why didn't they prep the engine and hit the control panel while McNeill was shutting down the cannons? Why Weller didn't tell Lexine the message Eckhardt sent?
It would be cool if there was a way to unblock the Ishimura's access tram in Dead Space 2 and explore the rest of the ship. This would allow you to completely skip the medical deck and go straight to the bridge to activate the gravity tethers. You're actually supposed to go straight to the bridge. An obstruction causes you to stop at the medical deck. I just brought that up because this game seems to explore a large portion of the ship. Dead Space 1 itself is highly centered on exploring the whole ship with your tram. You actually visit almost every part of it. It would be cool if something like this happened in Dead Space 2. If there was some way to clear the obstruction blocking the tram.
Nicole made the worst possible decision in her life at 2:11:00 ish lol wonder how it would've turned out if she decided to go to the engineering bay with Nate.
Dead Space: Extraction is a 2009 rail shooter and prequel to the 2008 video game Dead Space. Originally released for the Wii, it is included with the PlayStation 3 limited edition version of Dead Space 2, and is available on the PlayStation Network.
As grateful I am to SHN for this upload, it can get a bit frustrating to watch sometimes. In almost every game in the franchise, they make sure to tell the player multiple times to forget body shots and go for the limbs. Yet when SHN gets swarmed, he tries to go for headshots...or when an Infector is in the background, he's emptying a whole clip onto a Slasher's body instead of dealing with the Infector...
At 2:09:48 Warren says "I don't want to find out!" Lmfao I would say the same if someone asks what's breaking through a wall in the middle of a haunted ship or anything horrifying.
The original intent for DS3 was to make a solo survival horror game where Isaac was fighting to live against both the necromorphs and the environment itself.
Isaac Clarke, Or at the very least make carver tag along instead of beaming in for the cutscenes. With proper writing having two main characters in the levels could of worked as shown in this game it does work as your not sure when your partner is gonna go off the deep end.
Which is the reason why I think Coalition or Bethesda should buy the property and do a hard reboot I know it would never happen but we can always dream
I love just how Weller tries to cover you in the ER room on the Ishimura, and only hits like, 1 necromorph, 1 time. >.> McNeil in his mind is probably like, *"Dude, youre aim sucks."*
I thoroughly enjoyed rail shooters on the wii. That's where I first played dead space extraction. Reminds me of when I used to go to the arcade and play Jurassic Park or House of the Dead for hours
I appreciate the playthrough. Though it hurts my soul whenever this guy misses or skips a blue upgrade or purple log I can spot clearly. The logs are half the fun for me.

It was very dumb of Weller, even more so because he's supposed to be military. He knew Eckhard was armed, but instead of taking his firearm and holding him at gunpoint, he turned away to watch the damn video
Love the game but it should've been Gabe who died and Nate to go on and marry her. Nate and Lex had chemistry throughout the entire game while the opposite was true for Gabe and Lex, and we are suppose to believe that after all that they somehow got together in three years really it makes no sense.
Totally agree. Gabe wanted to leave her on the colony! Can't always have a happy ending, so I understand if Nate has to die instead of Gabe, but I still don't see them getting married...
Gabe was the dev's favorite character. They even wanted to do more with him after Severed, but EA closed them down. McNeil was great, yeah, but he wanted to retire and stop fighting, like Isaac in DS 3. Gabe didn't. Gabe was the logical choice. As for his feelings for Lexine, Gabe respects strength. Let's be real; Lexine isn't strong at first. But she gets stronger, and right there at the end, Gabe learns that Lex isn't the ditzy, weak girl she started out as. She's become a warrior, like him. And she learns that he isn't the hard military man she thought he was. Sure, the chemistry wasn't great, but it's better than if McNeil survived and finally told Lex that he killed her boyfriend. I imagine that level of betrayal might have ended any chance they had.
Damn i remember playing this with my cousin when we were like 11 year's old Edit:when we see the Necromorph for the first time we just turn off the wii and we waited for my brother to come home so that we can watch him play
Dead Space is scary because you can't really trust what your character sees. you could be the hero, or you could be a monster, there's no way to tell . . .
I'm 41 now and I had mostly every console and even tho we have a ps4 and xbox one with all there games they have produced in the years none of there games come close to a horror game like dead space it's like the new devs just have no clue how to make a horror game. In all my yrs of gaming nothing and I mean nothing has ever hit my heart better than the halo series .. Mass effect trilogy.. Gears of war trioloy.. Dead space trilogy... And resident evil games..And I mean on the old consoles even the new versions of these titles are crap. The xbox 360 was the golden console for games and nothing will ever come close again. Yes they make good consoles but the crap there pushing out is all micro transactions and ripping people off plus bad story lines and horrible glitches and bugs that they still can't figure out but these trilogies my god please let me go back to the time I 1st played them and get the best gaming feeling I ever got.
i dont know what gave me more anxiety, the video, or watching you shoot most necromorphs on their bodies with the gun instead of simplier severing their limbs with the plasma cutter xD

we can’t feel air, so air is a dream? ;-;
The "back up" shoots like the gunner from spaceballs.
1:05:22 you underestimate my power
Don't try it!
Imagine this as a full pledged 3rd person shooter, it would be great. RIP deadspace, you will be missed :(
"Love you too! Later"
*Dead Space Extraction logo shows up*
I don't know about that one chief
I watched some ads all the way through because I appreciate you making this video.
now imagine using dead space remake's assets to remake this as a full expansion to dead space remake, along with co - op between McNeil and Weller. change the cannon shooter bits to be a bit more polished, and add special suits like Weller's Severed suit
I love it how every random dude they come across says like 4 lines then dies horribly
01:07:50 "Hurry up, we'll cover you!"
*proceeds to get smacked by necromorphs*
So much for covering you, geez >_>
All I've got to say is that everyone you play as in this game has more balls than even Isaac to willingly go into the vents with little to no hesitation XD
2:04:53
I hate games where you're the only one who has competent aim among any other, or has shots that do any damage whatsoever. -_-
4:17:07 Understanding the severity of the situation, Lexine shot the air.
At less you are not completely alone in this game, the others games are so... lonely (in the most part of them).
All I can here in Gabe Weller's voice is Dorian Pavus from DAI haha, gotta love both characters and Ramon Tikaram :D
Angry Joe: "4 houuuuuursssss?!!!!"
Anyway good or bad, I love Dead Space lore and story.
I thought that Lexine was dead for sure! As if she survived getting swatted like that!
Good lord, its like watching surgery. Knee cap, head, arm joint. Knee cap, head, arm joint. Gj bro
1:45:00 Nicole !! (and not dead space 2 look)
Oh so this is most definitely before Isaac got there and before she killed herself
Nicole made the worst possible decision in her life at 2:11:00 ish lol wonder how it would've turned out if she decided to go to the engineering bay with Nate.
Man this game was solid, good prequel to dead space 1, but also serves as its own story you could honestly have made a full movie out of this.
This game in the format of the other games would have been freaking amazing
Dead Space: Extraction is a 2009 rail shooter and prequel to the 2008 video game Dead Space. Originally released for the Wii, it is included with the PlayStation 3 limited edition version of Dead Space 2, and is available on the PlayStation Network.
did anyone noticed that Voice on the Video Log was Actually Isaac Voice in the Enigneer Suit when that Nercromorph Attacked 1:38:00
It does
What's that Isaac back there
Haha I killed him
As grateful I am to SHN for this upload, it can get a bit frustrating to watch sometimes.
Dead Space was a great IP until EA decided to "Mass Effect"-ize and "Army of Two"-ize it.
yeah that was a GREAT GAME damn 3 became fps in tps jeezz......
True
Which is the reason why I think Coalition or Bethesda should buy the property and do a hard reboot I know it would never happen but we can always dream
The necromorphs in this game are really nice they wait for you to kill one of their own then they attack
I love just how Weller tries to cover you in the ER room on the Ishimura, and only hits like, 1 necromorph, 1 time. >.>
McNeil in his mind is probably like, *"Dude, youre aim sucks."*
Why the fuck did I watch this whole thing and drink... It was a pretty good walkthrough though
I sense the panic in you from all the unsuccessful active reloads.
Ahahah this is hilarious lol
My favorite channel for all my horror long playthrough needs.😄
This game is really cool. Perfect for VR, some great scares and tense moments.

"Jesus thanks for the help guys?!" My thoughts through most of this.
1:45:27 is that Lexine naked
They should have just escaped to another planet after they found the shuttle.
Landing in Ishimura was their biggest mistake.
Dead space could be made in to a perfect VR game. It has everything you need for one
i love this game but i had a hard time appreciating it as much as the others especially with the wii's shaky motion controls. GO FOR THE LIMBS.
So Dr. Eckhard shoots Weller even though he also had a gun and had a full 2 seconds to just shot him after going "AH HA!".
Kal S Fox Nate didn’t kill her boyfriend. One of his men did. And he disapproved.
Not like it matters considering Gabe is dead and Lexine is kind of somewhere
Damn i remember playing this with my cousin when we were like 11 year's old
Edit:when we see the Necromorph for the first time we just turn off the wii and we waited for my brother to come home so that we can watch him play
This shit should be at Dave n busters chucke cheese you know how like that terminator guns and you aim at the screen and shoot them it should be like that but dead space the gun should be the plasma cutter
Isaac Clarke {Engineer,Bad ass, intelligent,} Yeah I know what you mean! It makes sense.
This game is great by the way. Honestly, I preferred both the aesthetic of this and the actual playing through of it too over the main games.
Watching this speedrun is like watching a good horror movie. It has me on the edge of my seat.
"and there trying to kill us Isn't life dandy"
I felt like I was watching a movie... just had to skip some fighting later on because I was just interested in the story haha.
They should remake this in Vr would seriously kick ass
