In console lobbies, people are so proud of their Cronuszen/strikepack that don't even try to defend themselves and just put ZEN as their tag and proceed one clipping 100%headshot. 30k wattson, hit pred in s16, masters in s18 and s19. This season I can't get out of diamond I and it's crazy. I usually duo q with my good friend (3x or 4x pred I forget) and we usually never have issues with randoms, but it honestly feels like either we have to beg them not to overextend or beg them to push with us. Then there's kc this season... I can honestly only effectively play wattson on Worlds Edge. Feels like on every perch on KC there's a fuse with a charge rifle raining absolute hell on u while their revenant apes you with the most devious ult swing you've ever seen, all with a gold knock lifeline itching to hit a res 💀. Its so bad this season man, if I solo q it's just worse.
It's not ranked its the hackers cause season 16 ranked was harder than current ranked and 17 to 19 was rat royale. After rat royale was removed the rats evolved into hackers
I insult but because they pick a POI land there as a team. I and the other good teammate knock 2 and the last one is 30 hp, but the one that picked the poi just runs away with 0 dmg.

Yeah, I honestly don't know what happened with the teammates I get this season. I know I throw sometimes, but I swear half of the people I get can't win a gunfight to save their lives, and I don't even want to talk about the people that want to run into the ring in round 2 just to fight a team that's trying to rotate, only for us to kill them and then get held out. I got Plat within a day or 2 at the start of the season and am only just now getting to plat 1 because I just kept taking -60s for things that I had no control over. If I'm losing RP because other people are better than me, that's cool and I'm fine with it, but when I'm losing it just because I have 2 people that have no clue how to play in Plat+ lobbies, that's when it's annoying. Either way, I refuse to be stuck in Plat, so I gotta soldier on and at the very least get to Diamond. Glad to see that it's not just a me thing though, makes me feel a bit better. Gonna go grab my Havoc and Hemlock and enter the frontlines once again, still sticking with Wraith though =).

Tips from a diamond solo q player (i could get masters but i have responsibilities and dont want to go insane). Pick a character that is useful in any scenario. Examples: Gibby: bubble helps anywhere and ult is destroying anybody in the area. BH: scanning will tell you what your randoms do not communicate even with ping system. Bangalore: Smokes are good to push and retreat just like gibby its a all terrain legend. DO NOT PLAY CHARACTERS THAT REQUIRE SYNERGY, for example: A lifeline is useless if your teammates do not heal up and do not even manage to crack the enemy, same for conduit there is no reason why give more shields to randoms if they gonna lose anyways. And third of all PLAY WITH A PREMADE TEAM THAT LISTENS AND PLAYS TO GRIND. Most people play ranked for fun which is dumb since we got pubs. I went from 10 points from diamond to plat 3 and gained all back in a few games with my buddies.
Not to mention that the worst day to play ranked is on the weekend + the map is Worlds Edge or Broken Moon. Those idiots keep wanna hot drop and die instantly. I just keep typing "speedrunning -80" while we're dropping

I pick up guns & start looking for other teams just to realize my randoms wanna play lootpex legends, so I just say "ah fuck it" & run around bored until we inevitably die & i get a new team. after days (months) of this being pretty much how every game goes it makes you question whether it's even worth turning it on.

I find it fucking insane how Apex isn't paying anyone to do manual bans, they had one mod on twitter who did it on freewill but he stopped. A Manual ban team would be fucking amazing, most pred boosters actually getting banned, so they don't come back every single season to do it over and over again

I think the issue with just reducing the entry cost for solo queuers is you making rating rating viable again, say your in diamond and instead of the -80 you start at -50, well now you only need to reach what top 10 to go even and a top 5 for gains, and just like that the next time your queue in a as a duo your 3rd has flown across the map from you to sit in a tree all game, I agree that solo queue in this current system feels impossible at higher ranks unless your a borderline pro or a cheater as stated in the video but I also don't think people realize how hard it is to balance a system for both solo queue and 3stacks, the real solution with be to create two different queues but we know that'll never happen sadly
Don't make reads based on looting. I will sometimes contest back to back games all night, winning the vast majority. But some nights I want to do trials for that sweet sweet gold helm and third party late. Better way is to get on mic and give them a macro plan / defer to theirs if they have ideas.
I’ve never solo queued but I’ve always went on the apex LFG and found randoms that have mics and we’re willing to communicate the problem is the first day or two we played always went well but after that the consistency died and I had to move on to new players to queue with. So now I have a full friends list of players that we just don’t play together
Adding SBMM in season 3 was such a long term mistake because it forced everyone to get way too good. Season 3 Aceu was untouchable in those lobbies, season 3 Aceu would be an above average MnK player in season 21 pubs. Sbmm forced the entire community to get extremely good or be left behind. Pubs used to legitimately be casual
I use rampart to take care of my pred stacks, issues is teammates are so bad nowadays in diamond,lower ranked players are still managing better than my team.. they actually stay together within 5-40meters all the time

I just started taking ranked serious this season I’m by no means a pro nor have I ever reached anything above plat but I’m getting better and solo queuing kings canyon has been my literal kryptonite.. I swear I could get at least high diamond if the meta was different
finally someone spoke up about all that. Im maining Rev for 4 years and if for me ranked is hard cant imagine how hard it is for other mains. This is the first season im hardstuck plat (not even diamond)
Apex as a whole is fubar. But in my case im forced to play ranked because pubs your team leaves as soon as their knocked, plus the lobby dies in 1 min. I think they should try spawning everyone randomly on the edge of the map, like hunt showdown.
I can relate to the part where you mentioned the meta, while going off meta in any video game is obviously not optimal especially when trying to hit high ranks this season has got to be the worst. The best legends/weapons have power crept everything else soo hard that you can actually become rank stuck much quicker just from simply selecting the wrong legend or gun, its ironic how we have soo many weapons and legends to choose from yet less than half of the options are viable they may as well not exist in the game.
Meta applies only to tournaments. Ranked is still nothing compared to Pro league. You can run any legend you want and still decimate in a ranked match. But in pro scene where everyone is there because they are the best then they need to take the best legends to get the most. At the end no matter if you run meta or not 99% of the times a teammate will die because they miss shots, got no game sense or just straight up logs.

ive always been plat 4 stuck prolly 5 times now when i try ot get as far as i can while still working fulltime, working out, cooking, and seeing family but this season i decided to get diamond and i got to plat 3 now im back to gold 2, after requing i cant see how much RP i lose game after game after game. I always hit diamond and make a push for masters, I get it about every inter season or so. But there was something about this season that’s just has felt like a slog
Also when playing with randoms do we talk to them on mic? If not how can we expect to have a good game? So often the random solo runs and dies then starts talking shit on mic but no comms that he going to push or anything
Just hit D4 last night as a 3 stack the whole journey. I’ve played solo 2 or 3 times and felt the same as you. If I’m not solo squad wiping, we will lose the fight. I have 4 or 5 clips of me 1v3’ing in plat when I was solo or duo queuing.
They screwed up the MMR system and placements by making a hard reset that now I feel as if I'm playing with people that cannot control the urge to play it smart, or even think coherently for a bit. SoloQ this season is a nightmare. While I was able to get Diamond without any difficulties, getting to it now is like trying to cross a wooden bridge that's on fire. I will however get to Diamond this season, regardless of the circumstances. I also kind of agree with your take on meta legends, but the problem is that half the people playing said legends either take it before you, or do not even think about a team composition and rarely(if ever) run a Support legend, which is something most Soloq players gotta get used to, if you wanna increase your odds at even getting some points if the game goes south and there's one guy left alive. I highly encourage people to at least try Support, regardless of how ass your teammates are, you might be surprised at how much you can do to increase the survivability of both yourself and the 2 bozos you're playing with, funnily enough.
I can't figure out how my teammates play other than: They like to hot drop in places where there's not enough weapons for everyone. I end up trynna punch my way outta there and fail... Next games I'm solo dropping somewhere more empty
It is for solo players, the new system in my opinion requires a dedicated team most likey with coms in order to achieve pred, with some luck and many hours, masters will be possible by soloing, but the amount of patience you need for that is crazy lol.

Couldn't agree more. Usually solo q to Diamond within the first week or two on season drop. I hit Diamond a few weeks ago and have had no motivation to touch ranked. KC is terrible in higher ranks. Cheaters left and right. Rev crutch and constant star wars with turbo havocs. Genuinely not a fun ranked season.
As someone who duo q’s with an Npc Maps the most important thing just the motivation of playing on better maps ruins it new broken moon is terrible imo but before it was in rotation I won my first 5 ranked games on worlds edge the fact that you have to 1v3 almost every fight doesn’t help the situation either
As someone who made it solo q masters s20 and s21: 1)map doesn’t matter as much, I agree that KC is poorly designed for ranked but all it takes is just a slightly different play-style to have consistent gains. No map should be played the same. 2)character meta also doesn’t matter as much. As long as u know ur character I can see how one-tricks would still rank up. All u need is to play flexible urself which is my next point 3)try to gain as much info on ur randoms as possible at the beginning . Such as their kill count, current and past ranks, badges, characters they main, etc. Doing so will let u make assumptions on how ur teammates like to play and u will need to adjust to their playstyle. But also: 4)don’t be afraid to sell your teammates. If u can clearly see how the fight that they are trying to start is stupid just don’t commit to it. Keep ur distance from it, try to take as little damage as possible. Same goes for fights ure trying to initiate if ur team doesn’t want to commit to it, get a few kp from a safe distance and leave 5)ALWAYS try to take the jumpmaster and I cannot stress this enough. If u land ur team well it’s already half of success. The first minute of the game is the most important, do not underestimate it. It is usually a good idea to hot drop near a contest. Or when contesting land with no more than 1 team with you. 6)the most important out of all is ur own mentality. Don’t flame ur teammates. Every game you will get 59 randoms in the lobby. Some of them good and some of them aren’t, some of them will end up on ur team and some of them against you. But out of all of them YOU are the only constant variable so just play ur own game and u will eventually rank up if ure worthy. If not, then u still gain hella experience from it. 7) try to select a prime time u find the easiest to play at, it is never a bad idea to try to dodge pro stacks or cheaters.

yeah solo queue is hell getting into plat was ok but i would have to no-life to get into diamond and somehow this season im not feeling it and hitting master, i don't think that would be possible rn since most of the time its just 1 v 3 that you are playing since teammates are unreliable, i tried to communicate and force them to play smart by giving coms and all and was punished by dropping 400rp (some very bad rounds) so yeah the comming didn't work out mostly because my teammates didn't even react to them around 80% of the time and just kept on running in and dying

highest i’ve gotten this season is high d3 solo, only like 100 points off d2. lost it all in the next couple hours. this season is nightmare fuel. idk how mande and hiswattson managed to get to master solo.
It feels like 50% of players are using walls. It’s crazy how often I spectate someone who proceeds to beeline to a team somewhere on the map with zero apparent reason.
The number one challenge for me in apex is knowing where the enemies are positioned in any givin fight. Forget about the element of surprise you have on someone if you are walling but more then half the time I am able to win my 1v1s. If I used walls forget it I know I would be predator easy. Walling may not be as powerful as aimbot but it's still extremely powerful.
6:24 I love KC for ranked, Its always were I gain the most points. Like 2days ago I went from slowly gaining points in Diamond on BM and WE, then gaining 1500+RP on KC in 1 day Its so easy to craft banners on KC 70+% of losing fights we made it out and crafted banners And its an MnK map, its easy to stay out of AA range, hence why all the streamers hate it since they either are rollers or get carried by rollers And we abuse the explosive hold "glitch" if 2 people open it at the same time u get +300 evo Like shit I'm waiting for KC rn, not touching ranked till its on so i can finish climbing to masters
Entry cost should not ramp up in upper ranks, it should remain constant among all ranks. Just make ranked a place to play against equally skilled opponents. In every other ranked game 50% of players go up and 50% go down at the end of each match regardless of rank. This means that it truly places players in ranks against opponents of their skill level. There's no reason that in gold, maybe 50% of the lobby ranks up or down each game, but then in platinum maybe it's 30% of the lobby goes up and 70% goes down. Apex ranked is trying to be different than every other ranked game just for the sake of being different.
I have defo had some utter lemmings for teammates this season.. I should not be tripling my 2 teammates dmg COMBINED. It's getting a wee bit silly but hey.

Forget masters I've been stuck on platinum 4 from the last split. I'm 200ms, so apex was always a little tough, but I got close to masters by solo queueing for 6 seasons. This season, it's near impossible, bruh.
As a guy who usually gets diamond bro.. I’m stuck in bronze it took me a full day just to get to silver 3 it’s insane usually I would go from bronze to gold 1 or 2 In a day
The problem for me isn’t the difficulty but the time, 800 rp/plat tier is outrageous, unless you have lots of time on your hands or are a unique player, it will simply be too long to reach the rank you’re supposed to reach
I don't mind playing looting apex if my teammates know how to position and shoot but most of the time, it's just a waste of time , they run in circle looting while ignoring the ring timer. If i get a offensive teammates, they most likely gonna either hot drop - die or get bored of looting , split from the team and trying the third party alone lol.
I have 5 accounts on plat right now, because up to gold, it feels super easy, but as soon as plat hits, I have the same gold level teammates who haven’t been doing anything the last 3 ranks, but the opposite team gets an easy knock on a teammate, then the second, then make it their entire life’s mission to chase me down for the rest of the game. My record is almost 5 straight minutes getting chased. But I’m glad, cuz I’m down to less than hour a day on apex.

the adaptability part is funny cuz I feel like that's what a majority of my games devolve into now. I pick up guns & start looking for other teams just to realize my randoms wanna play lootpex legends, so I just say "ah fuck it" & run around bored until we inevitably die & i get a new team. after days (months) of this being pretty much how every game goes it makes you question whether it's even worth turning it on.
You hit the nail on this one. Ranked is just way more difficult for us solo players and it sucks. I don’t ever try to blame randoms but ive played way to many matches where a third will literally drop solo and instantly die, and its always the people with ttv in there name 🤦🏻♂️

yeah my luck with randoms since I started rank solo this season been horrible I either been getting afk players, or one that runs off like pubs.

I find it fucking insane how Apex isn't paying anyone to do manual bans, they had one mod on twitter who did it on freewill but he stopped.

I think the issue with just reducing the entry cost for solo queuers is you making rating rating viable again, say your in diamond and instead of the -80 you start at -50, well now you only need to reach what top 10 to go even and a top 5 for gains, and just like that the next time your queue in a as a duo your 3rd has flown across the map from you to sit in a tree all game, I agree that solo queue in this current system feels impossible at higher ranks unless your a borderline pro or a cheater as stated in the video but I also don't think people realize how hard it is to balance a system for both solo queue and 3stacks, the real solution with be to create two different queues but we know that'll never happen sadly
Don't make reads based on looting. I will sometimes contest back to back games all night, winning the vast majority.
But some nights I want to do trials for that sweet sweet gold helm and third party late.
Better way is to get on mic and give them a macro plan / defer to theirs if they have ideas.
Solo queue will make you lose a full head of hair
I’ve never solo queued but I’ve always went on the apex LFG and found randoms that have mics and we’re willing to communicate the problem is the first day or two we played always went well but after that the consistency died and I had to move on to new players to queue with.
So now I have a full friends list of players that we just don’t play together

Adding SBMM in season 3 was such a long term mistake because it forced everyone to get way too good. Season 3 Aceu was untouchable in those lobbies, season 3 Aceu would be an above average MnK player in season 21 pubs. Sbmm forced the entire community to get extremely good or be left behind. Pubs used to legitimately be casual
I use rampart to take care of my pred stacks, issues is teammates are so bad nowadays in diamond,lower ranked players are still managing better than my team.. they actually stay together within 5-40meters all the time

I just started taking ranked serious this season I’m by no means a pro nor have I ever reached anything above plat but I’m getting better and solo queuing kings canyon has been my literal kryptonite.. I swear I could get at least high diamond if the meta was different

finally someone spoke up about all that. Im maining Rev for 4 years and if for me ranked is hard cant imagine how hard it is for other mains. This is the first season im hardstuck plat (not even diamond)
Apex as a whole is fubar. But in my case im forced to play ranked because pubs your team leaves as soon as their knocked, plus the lobby dies in 1 min. I think they should try spawning everyone randomly on the edge of the map, like hunt showdown.

I can relate to the part where you mentioned the meta, while going off meta in any video game is obviously not optimal especially when trying to hit high ranks this season has got to be the worst. The best legends/weapons have power crept everything else soo hard that you can actually become rank stuck much quicker just from simply selecting the wrong legend or gun, its ironic how we have soo many weapons and legends to choose from yet less than half of the options are viable they may as well not exist in the game.
Meta applies only to tournaments. Ranked is still nothing compared to Pro league. You can run any legend you want and still decimate in a ranked match. But in pro scene where everyone is there because they are the best then they need to take the best legends to get the most. At the end no matter if you run meta or not 99% of the times a teammate will die because they miss shots, got no game sense or just straight up logs.

Just hit D4 last night as a 3 stack the whole journey. I’ve played solo 2 or 3 times and felt the same as you. If I’m not solo squad wiping, we will lose the fight. I have 4 or 5 clips of me 1v3’ing in plat when I was solo or duo queuing.

They screwed up the MMR system and placements by making a hard reset that now I feel as if I'm playing with people that cannot control the urge to play it smart, or even think coherently for a bit. SoloQ this season is a nightmare. While I was able to get Diamond without any difficulties, getting to it now is like trying to cross a wooden bridge that's on fire. I will however get to Diamond this season, regardless of the circumstances. I also kind of agree with your take on meta legends, but the problem is that half the people playing said legends either take it before you, or do not even think about a team composition and rarely(if ever) run a Support legend, which is something most Soloq players gotta get used to, if you wanna increase your odds at even getting some points if the game goes south and there's one guy left alive. I highly encourage people to at least try Support, regardless of how ass your teammates are, you might be surprised at how much you can do to increase the survivability of both yourself and the 2 bozos you're playing with, funnily enough.

It is for solo players, the new system in my opinion requires a dedicated team most likey with coms in order to achieve pred, with some luck and many hours, masters will be possible by soloing, but the amount of patience you need for that is crazy lol.

Couldn't agree more. Usually solo q to Diamond within the first week or two on season drop. I hit Diamond a few weeks ago and have had no motivation to touch ranked. KC is terrible in higher ranks. Cheaters left and right. Rev crutch and constant star wars with turbo havocs. Genuinely not a fun ranked season.
As someone who duo q’s with an Npc Maps the most important thing just the motivation of playing on better maps ruins it new broken moon is terrible imo but before it was in rotation I won my first 5 ranked games on worlds edge the fact that you have to 1v3 almost every fight doesn’t help the situation either

almost plat 2 this season and i’m struggling. hit diamond seasons 12, 14-16, and i’m not counting seasons 17-19 since it was a lot easier 😭
As someone who made it solo q masters s20 and s21:
1)map doesn’t matter as much, I agree that KC is poorly designed for ranked but all it takes is just a slightly different play-style to have consistent gains. No map should be played the same.
2)character meta also doesn’t matter as much. As long as u know ur character I can see how one-tricks would still rank up. All u need is to play flexible urself which is my next point
3)try to gain as much info on ur randoms as possible at the beginning . Such as their kill count, current and past ranks, badges, characters they main, etc. Doing so will let u make assumptions on how ur teammates like to play and u will need to adjust to their playstyle. But also:
4)don’t be afraid to sell your teammates. If u can clearly see how the fight that they are trying to start is stupid just don’t commit to it. Keep ur distance from it, try to take as little damage as possible. Same goes for fights ure trying to initiate if ur team doesn’t want to commit to it, get a few kp from a safe distance and leave
5)ALWAYS try to take the jumpmaster and I cannot stress this enough. If u land ur team well it’s already half of success. The first minute of the game is the most important, do not underestimate it. It is usually a good idea to hot drop near a contest. Or when contesting land with no more than 1 team with you.
6)the most important out of all is ur own mentality. Don’t flame ur teammates. Every game you will get 59 randoms in the lobby. Some of them good and some of them aren’t, some of them will end up on ur team and some of them against you. But out of all of them YOU are the only constant variable so just play ur own game and u will eventually rank up if ure worthy. If not, then u still gain hella experience from it.
7) try to select a prime time u find the easiest to play at, it is never a bad idea to try to dodge pro stacks or cheaters.

yeah solo queue is hell getting into plat was ok but i would have to no-life to get into diamond and somehow this season im not feeling it and hitting master, i don't think that would be possible rn since most of the time its just 1 v 3 that you are playing since teammates are unreliable, i tried to communicate and force them to play smart by giving coms and all and was punished by dropping 400rp (some very bad rounds)
so yeah the comming didn't work out mostly because my teammates didn't even react to them around 80% of the time and just kept on running in and dying

It feels like 50% of players are using walls. It’s crazy how often I spectate someone who proceeds to beeline to a team somewhere on the map with zero apparent reason.

The number one challenge for me in apex is knowing where the enemies are positioned in any givin fight. Forget about the element of surprise you have on someone if you are walling but more then half the time I am able to win my 1v1s. If I used walls forget it I know I would be predator easy. Walling may not be as powerful as aimbot but it's still extremely powerful.
It's funny how Apex still has no report option for walling.

Its so easy to craft banners on KC 70+% of losing fights we made it out and crafted banners
And its an MnK map, its easy to stay out of AA range, hence why all the streamers hate it since they either are rollers or get carried by rollers

Entry cost should not ramp up in upper ranks, it should remain constant among all ranks. Just make ranked a place to play against equally skilled opponents. In every other ranked game 50% of players go up and 50% go down at the end of each match regardless of rank. This means that it truly places players in ranks against opponents of their skill level. There's no reason that in gold, maybe 50% of the lobby ranks up or down each game, but then in platinum maybe it's 30% of the lobby goes up and 70% goes down. Apex ranked is trying to be different than every other ranked game just for the sake of being different.

Forget masters I've been stuck on platinum 4 from the last split. I'm 200ms, so apex was always a little tough, but I got close to masters by solo queueing for 6 seasons. This season, it's near impossible, bruh.

As a guy who usually gets diamond bro.. I’m stuck in bronze it took me a full day just to get to silver 3 it’s insane usually I would go from bronze to gold 1 or 2 In a day
The problem for me isn’t the difficulty but the time, 800 rp/plat tier is outrageous, unless you have lots of time on your hands or are a unique player, it will simply be too long to reach the rank you’re supposed to reach
I don't mind playing looting apex if my teammates know how to position and shoot but most of the time, it's just a waste of time , they run in circle looting while ignoring the ring timer. If i get a offensive teammates, they most likely gonna either hot drop - die or get bored of looting , split from the team and trying the third party alone lol.
I have 5 accounts on plat right now, because up to gold, it feels super easy, but as soon as plat hits, I have the same gold level teammates who haven’t been doing anything the last 3 ranks, but the opposite team gets an easy knock on a teammate, then the second, then make it their entire life’s mission to chase me down for the rest of the game. My record is almost 5 straight minutes getting chased.
But I’m glad, cuz I’m down to less than hour a day on apex.
