I want to thank you, the younger generation for keeping shooting film. I graduated from fine arts 22 years ago and we used to be the last generation shooting medium format and 35mm film and processing our pictures on fiber based paper in the darkroom. Then, suddenly, everyone switched to digital and for a decade no one cared about film anymore, especially the elderly generation. I am 44 years old and felt that my dream of shooting film was over because all the photo labs were closing one after the other, and every cool film was taken out of the market. I had the chance to film my last movie using the last rolls of 16mm kodachromes, and then, everything fell apart… now thanks to younger people, film is alive and doing strong : please keep shooting film 🎥
Thanks! :) Sadly there will never be the possibility to shot film for the first time again, but maybe we can do a little update version video someday 🤔
Haha, I will make sure to forward that! Thanks so much, I was afraid that people could not distinguish out voices, so I needed to come up with something
Hello Karin. It was a generous gesture and indeed lovely to include your sister in this video. Your video seems to embody the analogue values inherent to film photography. Hope Sam will continue using film. It is indeed a lovely pursuit.
Thanks so much for your kind words I truly appreciate it! Sam has her own little point and shoot camera now which she regularly takes with her, so I also hope that she will continue to shoot film. :)
Cood video. I first shot the Yashica T4 in 1998(!), and put it away for almost 20 years. Then I found it in a box after seeing how popular it had become and am shooting with it again. I have a Contax T2 also that I never stopped shooting, with but both are getting more rolls today than they ever did back int the "day".
Absolutely! The streets you walk on everyday can appear mundane quickly. But when having a camera in your hand and when sharpening your perception, things happen to appear more interesting.
I think the photo @12:22 is the highlight of the video as Sam, the composition, smooth light, color and simplicity all came together. Maybe because I too have a younger brother and sibling interaction is always interesting to see across different families.
I've been in Marburg so many times. It's a beautiful place. I miss going there, maybe this year....maybe. Nice to see it in times like these when you cannot go anywhere.
I have been to Marburg for the first time on that trip and have to say that I absolutely loved it (despite the weird weather we had and the lack of people on the streets). Such a beautiful and cozy little town, so I totally get why you miss it!
Very enjoyable nicely edited video again Karin. This made me very happy experiencing the nice shared bond both of you have. Such a beautiful town also. This year one of my resolution is to take lot more pictures of my family and loved ones.

This is so cool to your sister jump to film photography. She did a really good job! It is really interesting how people can see the world from the different perspective.
This is so nice. It wasn't film but I just gifted one of my old beginner digital camera to my nephew for his 10th birthday. It's really refreshing looking at how they look at the world with the same tools we use on a daily basis.
This is such a heartwarming story! It must be so interesting to see, especially with children that young, learning about how they see the world. Thanks for sharing! :)
Interesting setting in Marberg. Notice the absence of pedestrians but perhaps it is close to the Christmas holiday. People may decide to stay indoors for the holiday. Town has interesting architecture, and one wonders where is the town center or center of activities. Then it might also be due to the pandemic--like so much of the world in lockdown and lonely. Emptiness can give us time to reflect or give us a little fear. Sam has a lovely smile and mild manner, perfect for a photo outing. Liked all of the photos you both shot. Well done.
You hit the nail on the head Norman: the streets were empty because everything is closed due to the lockdown and because we filmed this during the Christmas holidays where all of the students left town to visit their families. You know what's going to happen. One day, you're going to see an X-Pan on eBay for auction and you'll get beaten to it, by Sam. And, then, she'll ring you and say, "Guess what, I bought this camera on eBay. It's called a Hasselblad X-Pan. Are they any good??!!!" :D :P :P
Hahahah you name it, I can already see that coming! That would be hilarious, but I would also be furious over the lost XPan auction 😬 well, as long as Sam would inherit it to me...
Pronouncing your name is no longer a “mistery “ 8). I wish we had beautiful historic villages here in the states . Makes for good photography ... oh .. cute sister btw 8)
Haha that pun was fun! ✌🏼 luckily many of the historic cities did not get destroyed in the war (but I am probably the wrong sister to insert history fun facts here)
I don’t know where you live but I visit Chicago often and find objects I want to get onto film. It’s much in the details, and also, telling a story by shooting what you see every day; an empty park bench, a postbox, a fire post, a cat, a dog, a bicycle. Karin took many nice foggy photos and I think she and I agreed that foggy weather was photo weather. But rainy weather is also perfect, you get reflections, you get details blurred and you get wet (and a reason for a warm cappuccino). I really want to take one of my grandchildren out for a photo safari. Did confirm that my Olympus Superzoom 70G is working - fully automatic.😎
A list of really good Point and Shoot film camera: Leica C2, C3, Olympus XA, Olympus 35 RD, Ricoh Gr 1, 1s, 1v, Nikon 28 ti, 35 ti, Leica minilux, leica CM, leica mini, rolllei 35 afm, Olympus mju, minolta tc1, konica hexar af, contax T2, T3,

Nice episode, keep it up Karin #moresam
Love the hashtag haha. Thanks Timur! :)
Jag köpte min t5 för 40 kr på en loppis i Sverige. Jag har testat och den fungerar utmärkt.
That would be hilarious, but I would also be furious over the lost XPan auction 😬 well, as long as Sam would inherit it to me...
ich habe heute eine T5 für 70€ geschossen. Super Zustand, mit Garantie 😁
Neeeein?! Woooah, Glückwunsch! Wo hast du sie gefunden? :)
@@KarinMajoka In einem Kamera Laden. Die haben irgendwie keine Ahnung. 😁
Oh great, another camera hoarder. So I’m not the only one.
A list of really good Point and Shoot film camera: Leica C2, C3, Olympus XA, Olympus 35 RD, Ricoh Gr 1, 1s, 1v, Nikon 28 ti, 35 ti, Leica minilux, leica CM, leica mini, rolllei 35 afm, Olympus mju, minolta tc1, konica hexar af, contax T2, T3,
Камеры хорошие, но всё портит активная фокусировка.
